This was a great hotel to tour nearby Urbino, just outside of town. Nice view of the hilltop town. Exceptionally good breakfasts. Comfortable rooms at a great value. Attractive setting with swimming pool. Has the look of a U.S. motel, up-to-date and nicely furnished.

It was the first time we stood in this hotel. Everything was fine. Only in the restaurant it is recommended for customers to speak a little bit italiano. If we come next time to urbino we will surely come back to this hotel. Wireless LAN worked well and was free of charge. The concierge speaks good englisch and german and was very friendly.

Located a few kilometers outside of Urbino, it’s convenient if your focus is the Marche countryside, but not so much if you plan to spend a lot of time in Urbino. Staff is very friendly and helpful with directions and suggestions of places to visit. The restaurant is convenient but isn’t always open. Two different large groups stayed at the hotel while we were there, but it was still very quiet.

This is a real retreat after noisy locations all over Italy. We were down by the pool mostly by ourselves, usually 3-4 couples in the restaurant during supper plus a perfect owner to boot (thanks Giancarlo!). Heartily recommended!

Hotel is qite far from city center. Several miles in fact. This should be made clear in location description. Also, we arrived at night and the hotel was nearly impossible to find. Otherwise a very nice hotel and the most pleasant reception we received during our two (2) week stay in Italy.

The Meridiana is a very friendly family-run hotel about 2km down the hill from Urbino and therefore quieter than staying in Urbino itself. The buffet breakfast was very good value at 4 euros per person and offered a very wide choice. A problem with the shower curtain was resolved very rapidly. The swimming pool makes a great place to relax after sight-seeing. You must have a car. Urbino is of course a beautiful place to visit and offers lots of restaurant choice.

The hotel management were very helpful and friendly though there was a language barrier, with the older couple on the first day. Despite this, they made every effort to understand and assist. On the 2nd day, a younger man who was probably their son, was at the reception desk and he spoke good English and was extremely helpful, giving me maps and information about the area. The room was immaculate and the price excellent. The only minor drawback was that due to it being quiet times, the resturant and laundry service were not available.

There was a problem with this hotel. The street of the hotel's address doesn't occur in TomTom-navigationsystems. However, the phone number mentioned on the Venere-site corresponds with that of another (agro- only summer)hotel 25 km away.... It took more than an hour to correct this and arrive at the correct hotel, which luckily lies not far from Urbino...

This is an old fashioned family run hotel..very hospitable. It's located in the country side near Urbino. A car is essential. There were few quests during our stay so it was really quiet. The charming girl working in the breakfast room went all the way to the downstairs bar to get us capuccinos. This is exceptional service. The hotel is clean and generally in good condition, but a little paint job here and there could make it more attractive and cheerful. The landscaping around the pool could also be improved.

The hotel was very convenient to exploring Urbino but you definitely need a car. The proprietor was very helpful and suggested a very nice, but out of the way Trattoria in a nearby town. The rooms were clean and spacious. It was in a very pleasant, relaxing location out in the country. The buffet breakfast was very elaborate, and well-worth the extra fee.

Excellent place to visit Urbino if you come by car. Rooms, lobbies, services, pool, free parking, ... - everything was simply perfect. Free internet - a rare advantage. Yet what most impressed us was the professional level of Gianluigi, the man at the reception desk. We run into a problem with our documents forgotten in one of the previous hotels, and he was most instrumental in resolving it for the long few days after we left Urbino, struggling with non-professional attitude the hotel staff at the other hotels. He is a rare example of a truly modern service provider, proficient in most communication skills, several languages. This is an oppurtunity to thank Gianluigi again for all he did for us.

Although it was a couple of kilometres out of town, it was a beautiful setting and was lovely to look out the window onto the wonderful countryside. It was easy to drive into the town and park in the designated area to go into Urbino. One of the staff was most helpful in advising us on our travels.

Excellent location and the pool was a bonus. Down side, went to pay the 510 euro bill after 3 nights to be told they could not accept c/c due to the equipment being non functional. they wouldn't accept travel cheques unless I paid 17 euros extra (for each individual cheque)due to bank charges. So I charged around Urbino for 2 hours to extract 500 euros from 2 cash machines to pay this bill.A sour note to a gorgeous location. so, the message to this tale, only go to 'La Meridina'with a bag of euros in your back pocket.

It had been terrible, if the website indicate a nice hotel with urbino. The reality is an hotel far away, outside the city, in the no where, the room have no windows,it was full of muskitos.THe restaurant was close (when you look at the website it seems to be gourmet) and there is no access without a car. Since it was not all what their website indicate : www.hotel-urbino.com/start. We ask to leave. They force us to pay 220 euros out of 240! Hopefully we was fluent in italian. I guess the agency shall go and see what they are offering.

The staff were really nice and friendly. The only complaint I had was that one of the reasons I'd chosen the hotel was that it had a swimming pool, but this was out of order while we were there - not due to open for another 4 weeks or so. The pool area also looked very rundown compared to the photo on the site. In any case, it wasn't quite warm enough to do much sunbathing, so it didn't really spoil our 2 night stay.

Out of season visit in mid October, so the hotel and its gardens looked a little "sad". The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. It would appear to be family run and even if "mother" has to read the reservation confirmation with a very large magnifying glass, that all adds to the charm of the experience!!

Was pleasantly surprised. A very nice hotel, very spacious, clean rooms. Quiet, beautiful surroundings, family-run and extremely good value for money. Good parking facilities. I only stayed one night, but it was ideal for a relaxing stop-over. Children enjoyed the pool. View of Urbino from the hotel. You need a car to get around though. I would recommend this hotel, and this region to anyone travelling around Italy who wants to combine sea, sun and culture. You can go to the nearby beaches during the day and be back in Urbino by the afternoon to visit the museums, piazzas or take an evening stroll.
