The location is far from the city center, but the bus service works well. Be aware that the last bus departs about midnight, later you shall walk 20-25 minutes. The description tells "take the road toward San Marino". The idea came to us what if coming from San Marino, rather than Pesaro. It was easy even without GPS. From San Marino city take the road to Rimini (blue sign), after 2 kilometers to Cattolica, drive through Mercatino Conca, and from there Urbino is is signed at every cross. I would recommend this route. Not easy driving (up and down and winding - but beautiful.

Reception staff extremely helpful. Very clean and spacious rooms. Service at breakfast slow the first day because a group had just finished before us. Hallways echoed with the banging of wooden doors or footsteps (nothing to absorb the sound). Convenient bus service to the centro storico. Excellent restaurant a few minutes away.

Is a little far from old city but fine if you have a car. Good parking. Outlook lovely, reasonable size room with a good balcony. Very clean and high standards overall. Helpful and friendly staff. Would recommend for most people - not well set up for young children. The old town is amazingly well preserved. We attended a wonderful concert in ducal palace. Australians should look for house of Eureka stockade participant and historian Raffaello Carboni. Al Grassby laid a plaque on wall there.

All the staff were friendly and very helpful. However it is a bit remote from Urbino, but there is a very good bus service which stops right outside the hotel and only cost a Euro. Although the hotel does not have its own restaurant there is an excellent one about 200 metres away called Il Giardino della Galla, which offered wonderful food at sensible prices. Overall I would recommend the Hotel.

I stayed at the first floor; in the morning I was disturbed from the radio playing in the hall; 2: when I arrived in my room, the temperature was to warm andI couldn't sleep well for this reason, though I switched off the heater.

The staff at this hotel are excellent, polite and very friendly. The rooms were large and clean, although a little worn and in need of paint, but no big deal. The room I had contained a little fridge and a lovely private balcony with not much of a view, but shaded by cool trees. However, there are a few things you need to know about this hotel. It is not located in Urbino, but is located instead about three or four kilometers away. This is alright, however, because there is an excellent bus service that stops directly in front of the hotel every 15 minutes until one in the morning. I would recommend this hotel for families and for those who would like a quiet, if relatively uncharming, place to stay. Again, the hotel staff were very helpful and polite.

The staff were very professional and helpful. They told us about the shuttle bus to town center which was also very convenient for us. We had an enjoyable stay.

Residence dei Duchi was a great hotel just outside of Urbino. The directions as well as the signs to the hotel were accurate. The desk was extremely helpful and spoke english very well. (They even suggested a wonderful restaurant very close to the hotel with excellent food!) Our room was very clean and had a view over the mountains. It was just a little bit loud in the morning from the hall.

More like a university halls of residence than an hotel. Value you price but you get what you pay for. It was not worth more. Not suitable for a tourist stay. Ok for business on a budget

We were well treated, the 10 Euro fee for parking over night was waived and set for 0.50 instead. We had reserved "Bed only" but forgot about that (all our other bookings were B&B) and went down for breakfast. We only had coffe and yogurt. Upon leaving we were charged 8 Euro for breakfast. When the mistake was understood the charge was set to 4 Euro which was fair enough.

The website map does not tell properly how far the hotel is from the historic centre. It is a half an hour walk.

We had no map or other directions other than the street address, but the directional signs led us right there without a problem. We had a very pleasant stay there, and would recommend it to anyone. Urbino is a charming old town, and we should have planned on staying for two nights. Next time!

The room was fine and we had no problems. Very quiet. Didn't try walking to the town centre since it was dark and cold but didn't have any problems parking since it was the off-season.

This hotel's quality, location and services are NOT what is advertised on their web site, and I'm amazed someone rated it at three stars. Although rooms are clean and spacious, the workmanship of the hotel is shoddy -- our first room's shower would not turn off, and the metal window shutter's strap broke, leaving us in darkness. Apologies and a room change quickly followed. The hotel is advertised as located near the town of Urbino, but it is a few miles away by road, leaving an unexpected long uphill walk (which we declined). While busses stop in front of the hotel every twenty minutes during the day, service dwindles to once per hour after 1900 hours. We drove to town, where public parking is ample and cheap. About half the rooms are devoted to residential living by students, so the hall noise level is higher than one might wish for after 2200 hours. The advertised on-premises restaurant is non-existent, although a shrot block away a family-style restaurant was delightful, with great food and service at reasonable cost. The clerk claimed my credit card magnetic stripe was flawed and would not record (this never happened anywhere else), so he asked for cash. He seemed a bit crestfallen when my wife offered her credit card instead, and it "worked." (Was he instructed by the owners to find a way to hide income?). An excellent one-star hotel.

Unfortunately for us the air conditioning seemed to only work half heartedly whilst at the same time making an awful noise. The shower drain smelled terrible throughout our 3 day stay. Other than that the bathroom was very clean. The room/bedding/towels were clean. Although we attempted to speak to the various receptionists in our broken Italian, we found that only one out of four of them was civil to us. Disappointing overall.

Others had noted the confusion about the locat ion; it really is a bit of a walk (35 minutes or so) to the centro storico. This may be fine but it should be clearer.

The room requested was to be non-smoking. Due to the high level of smoking throughout the rest of the building, and especially in the lobby, the non smoking room was adversely affected at all times. The rest of the experience was very good. The hotel should advertise the fact that it is within a ten minute walk from the town center, which was not clear from the maps. It is an enjoyable walk.
