Perfectly placed hotel to discover Torino by walking or by taking tram, bus, or underground (all stations placed within one minute from the hotel). The only deception is the reception-staff: with exception of the only woman working there they are not very friendly and what is worse not very helpful. Just two of quite a few examples: I was looking for a special book-edition so I asked for a Mondadori-bookshop and all I got was a "I don't know, I don't think there is one here in Torino". It seemed to be too much work to have a ten- second-look at google (I couldn't, I have no i-phone).The same occured when we were asking which bus-line would bring us at a certain place: after the usual "I don't know" I had to insist to make the guy have a look at the computer. Beside that we had a very good stay. Just bring your own compi!

Two minutes' walk from the Porta Nuova Railway station, the Hôtel is immediately situated in the heart of the City. Trams and buses (a 3 day card is available in kiosks and tabaconist shops for 10€) to almost everywhere pass close by, but walking is a fine means by which you may discover the town and its attractions. I would not recommend driving in town. The Tourist office in the station sells Torino-Piemonte tourist cards for varying lengths of stay, which make museum visits (as well as such things as river trips to the Borgo Mediavale and the Lingotto (Fiat) complex (Automobile museum, Pinacothèque G & M Agnelli, Commercial Mall, Olympic site and large Eataly shop). 3 days for 29€ - a real bargain. In town, items not to be missed include the fascinating National Cinema Museum in the Mole Antonelliana Tower (with panoramic view, superb at sunset), the Ancient Egyptian Museum (second largest in the world after Cairo, they say), Palazzo Madama (I can't remember enjoying a museum more in the last twenty years and it has a wonderful caffé and an educative garden... smoking is frowned on there, but there is a corner, next to the pigsty, reserved for enhardened smokers!) The main reason for my stay was a Wagner Opera production in the Teatro Regio. A surprising modern interior with an imperfect acoustic. Speaking of architecture, there are collonades and galleries all around the spinal column of the Via Roma (from the station to the Palazzo Reale). Elegance is coupled with an Oxford Street-Champs Elysées type of shoppiong which makes this City of almost 1 000 000 inhabitants feel like a Capital. Out of town visits were also on the agenda. From the tram-bus stop Sassi, there is a rack railway leading up to the Basilica Superga, where one also finds the enormous crypt of Savoy family tombs as well as some of their appartments on one side of the cloister. Restaurants to satisfy all purses and pastry shops-caffés everywhere. I will return.

Stayed for 2 nights in November 2011 in a single ("traveller") room. Nice old-fashioned hotel. Great location in the centre of town. Tram 9 outside the hotel takes you straight to the Juventus Stadium. An Irish & an English pub 2 minute walk away. Continental breakfast included in the price. I'd stay again. Absolutely beautiful city, too.

I staid in a very small but nice and clean room. I did know from the excellent price (very cheap) it was going to be like that and for me eveything was fine. They are going to renew it but, in the meanwhile, it is a good solution for those who want to save money, stay in the city centre and hystorical hotel. The room 'tourit' has a little balcony, bathroom, guardrobe and table with a seat! I would recomend it.

This hotel is a very short walk from Porta Nuova Train Station. If you walk in off the street, they have single rooms on special, if available, for 41 euros. (As of Nov 2011). It is a great deal.

We went to Turin to visit some museums and spefic shows that celebrate the 150 anniversary of Italian Union. In spite of the heavy rain, everything went smooth and our stay at Hotel Roma E Rocca Cavour was perfect, starting from welcoming, quietness, good position, clearness and good breakfast.

Trying to find the hotel was confusing at first because the neon sign displays onlyHotel Roma and there is only a small sign in the door threshhold which states Roca Cavour. Other than that the location is ideal, very near the train station and an easy walk into the town center. The hotel offers various levels of rooms with significant price differences. I was unaware of this until after I unpacked in my rather shabby room. It held me and my two suitcases but that took up most of the room. The furniture looked like it had been supplied from a flea market and the bed might have been comfortable if someone had not pinned some sort of pad on it. I kept rolling on the safety pins all night and that hurt. The walls were paper thin and it was easy to hear what was going on in rooms on either side of me, whether I wanted to or not. As I passed by other rooms with doors open, I noticed that those rooms were nicer than the one I had, so in this hotel it pays to pay more money and get a decent room. The staff spoke English but was not overly welcoming and friendly. There is an elevator. Breakfast was filling enough and included in the room price. This hotel aims at old world charm and the rooms are mainly furnished with old furniture, whether or not that includes antiques, I don't know. If you stay here pay a little more and get a better room.

The first night there we were put in a room over the street and the trains kept us awake all night. The next day they moved us to a room in the back that was both larger and much quieter. For the money it was a good experience and the hotel was centrally located and close to the train station for day trips to other cities like Milan and Lake Como.

This hotel is ideally located in the heart of Turin with lots of shopping and sights. The room was large and quiet. We where in the back of the hotel. But this property could use some updating-it was a bit on the shabby side. Carpeting and walls, especially in the hallways where old and watermarked.

Great stay, better than I expected. One point to mention, my "Tourist" room had no air conditioning, which was not required in September. I guess that the other "Tourist" rooms also have no air con, which could be a problem if you stay in the hotter months.

Rooms were clean, spacious and cheap - location was excellent near the Porta Nuova station. Air conditioning unit was extremely noisy - others in our group had a broken unit, another had no air con at all. Was extremely noisy all through the night and in the early hours. Breakfast very good and the price was excellent - but we probably wouldn't return for the reasons mentioned (noise and air con problems).

The hotel is partly remodernized and partly not (that is a pity). Our room was really spacious and nice but the bathroom was still in the 80's and the shower fixed at the wall. The reception staff was extremly friendly and welcoming us - unusually for Italy. And they were very helpful in special requests the same for the breakfast team. The breakfast was very various (also very unusual for Italy) and the staff ready for helping. All in all a very pleasant stay and we would come back again.

The hotel is in a very convenient location if you will be arriving/departing by train, right opposite the main station. Also not far from the main city centre. I had chosen the "tourist" grade of room and it contained everything I could require. On this occasion I was given a very spacious double room, having only requested a single. The breakfast was also very good, although if you came too late some of the best food might be nearly all gone. Altogether I considee this a good choice for anyone visiting Turin and excellent value for money.

The location of this hotel makes it very convenient for the traveler- you are right outside the train station, and only a few minutes walk from the main attractions. I spent a week at the Rocca Cavour, and overall it was a pleasant stay. The morning breakfast bar is out of this world--the best breakfast I've had in an Italian hotel of any star rating. Please note that there are *NOT* internet connections in all of the rooms. There is a 3-euro per hour internet computer station in the lobby. Also, some of the rooms face the piazza, which is noisy (but has lovely views), and others face the quieter inner courtyard.

La struttura ed i servizi sono un po' datati ma ben tenuti. Il condizionatore (del vecchio tipo con bocchetta inserita nel vetro della finestra, durante la notte purtroppo ha smesso di funzionare perché la vaschetta era piena. The hotel's proximity to Porta Nuova station makes it the ideal stopover for rail travellers arriving in or leaving Italy via the Fréjus tunnel. But a rare combination of no-nonsense service, showers that shower and a strong local character gives it a far wider appeal.
