My only real complaint was that the air conditioning did not work very well, and due to the hot weather it was needed. When I first arrived I could not get it to work at all, the staff managed to make it work but it was not very efficient. The room would be fairly cool in the evening but got warmer during the night making sleep difficult. It was never as cool as I would have liked. The room was otherwise quite pleasant although not large, and the breakfast was not bad for Italy. The location was convenient for the station and bus from the airport. Overall it was very good value for money.

Unexpected value-- least expensive hotel on our 2-week travels through Europe. No compromise on quality. In room fridge, nice balcony overlooking quiet courtyard.

NOTE POSITIVE: Ottimo prezzo, ottima posizione, camera spaziosa e molto carina.

A very nice hotel and pleasant staff. Breakfast is usual (cheese, meat, bread, fruit, coffee, tea). Room is quite big. The only trouble - mini-bar frig was warm inside, didn't cool the water. I think i will return to this hotel, it is 2 steps from the train station.

The hotel was excellent in all respects -- quiet in spite of being very close to train tracks and major traffic. There is a fantastic trattoria two doors down the street, and a pleasant bar a few doors in the other direction. Both are worth a visit. The city is very interesting -- check out the market! The staff were very friendly and helpful. No negative comments to make.

Nice hotel. Quality-price ratio good for an expensive city like Torino. Our room facing the inside yard was quiet except for the restaurant kitchen noise early in the morning and late at night. Multilingual staff at reception (including French and English). Good breakfast including cold cuts and cheese. Location central and within walking distance to all attractions including a very nice park. Hotel parking is easy. Hotel easy to find.

Due Mondi was an excellent choice ang great value for money! In a very convenient location, especially if travelling via railway, but also within walking distance from every major point in Turin and with great eating option nearby. The room was really spacious, with a wonderful bathroom with hydromassage. The staff was most helpful and polite. We'll definitely stay there again!

The street that the hotel is on is entirely not clean, many people loitering (some peeing in broad daylight directly on the street). I was afraid to leave the room at night because of the type of people in the surrounding area (reportedly many prostitutes and drug dealers). If visiting Turin in the future I would recommend staying closer to via Roma or at least the side of the street closer to shopping and away from the train station. As for the room - found a lot of hairs in the bathroom - they hadn't cleaned it very thoroughly at all. Room was very small, and cramped. Air conditioner was on, but basically ineffective.

One of the recepcionists was agressive and unpolite. The other was fine. The furniture was poor and in bad condition. Only Italian channels on the TV. Poor offer for the breakfast. Too much economy in energy. Access to the room almost in the dark. Balconies degraded. The only thing good was the location close to the downtown. For me this is the only reason for the high cost because generally the facilities were very poor.

I stayed at the Hotel Due Mondi in a single room just for one night before I caught a flight the next day. The hotel staff was not great at night. There were problems with both the phone and internet. The phone did eventually get fixed, the internet did not. at about 2:30am there was a VERY LOUD fight (verbal, not physical) between two of the other guests in the hotel that continued until 5am. I would have expected the hotel to take some action to resolve the situation but they did not get involved. Needless to say I did not have enough sleep and that is rough before a day with 17hours of travel. The hotel was moderately clean. The room itself was fairly clean, but he hallways were in great need of cleaning.

Booked two double for two nights, but got them for only one night, 'cos (they say) they had problem with reservation via internet (so i can't say if responsability is hotel's or venere.com's). One of the rooms was too hot and i couldn't change temperature; the other, without conditioned air, was a bit too cold. Breakfast was poor. Next night i was in the near hotel they suggested to me, but it was more poor and seemed not well attended.

Dovessi tornare a Torino sceglierei ancora l'Hotel Due Mondi.

The room was as expected regarding size and furniture. It was well cleaned, but outside of the reception area the hotel was very worn. The paint was peeling off door frames. The washbasin had a crack, the bidet was leaking (annoying and noisy the first night) although this was automatically detected and corrected the next day. My room was facing the street and it was impossible to have the window open at night because of street noise. There was WLAN, but it only worked in the reception (there was an access point right outside my room, but it had no LAN connection...), and as of curiosity there were no power socket in my room except the one for shavers in the bathroom.

Turin was getting ready for the winter Olympics, which has now been completed, so the city and area around Porta Nuova {where the hotel was}, was noisy, but as the hotel was off the main road it was quiet. Lovely building, breakfast was varied and tasty with fresh coffee available. Friendly service, try the restaurant downstairs, it's not connected to the hotel, but has good food.

Not nearly a nice as one other hotels on the same street, which we stayed in earlier on the same break. Location was fine but air con wasn't working, the room felt very cramped and a little bit grubby. Staff weren't especially keen to help although they were kind enough to let us store our cases for the day before we left to catch our flight home. Location is great for the station and bus services to the airport, close enough to walk into the main parts of town and tourist attractions

The room I was offered was dark with not working air conditioner (as I was explained "because the weather was not hot (+25-28)") quite good tv set and tiny shower. I've changed this room for a bit lighter one but without air conditioner and with smaller tv set. In general quite normal hotel for the money paid (48 Euro for single room) and just 2 min from the main railway station.

Our room was in very good shape but our friends room was not. There were shelves that were not propertly attached to the wall so you could not put anything on them. Also there was a bad smell in the room. Some electricity spots were not working. In the corridors there were some wires just hanging out in the open etc. Otherwise we were very pleased with our stay in the hotel. The staff was very friendly and helpfull and many places were in good shape, but some still needed renowating. We will definitely use the hotel next time we come to Torino.

You must have a very solid reason for visitng Turin. There is not much to do. The hotel itself was very nice and very accomodating. I found this hoyel, quaint and pleasant. The rooms were quite elegant and clean, whilst keeping an "old" feel to the hotel. The location was excellent if you want to stay near the centre as it is very near the "porta nova" station and there is some public parking nearby. Only complaint for me was my bed was a bit small, and there were not many facilities (No ASDL, and very small TV in room). Otherwise OK

We spend a night at the beginning and a night at the end of our week in Italy, and really appreciated the location and comfort of the hotel; just a few minutes walk from the Porta Nuova station, good value for money, efficient and friendly staff, a very good breakfast, and a comfy clean bed. All well, except: no plastic bags in dustbins (bad smellings, so, depending what you might throw, we had a little baby...); air conditioning was working slightly, it was inefficient; the balcony was dirty; there were some ants (the little ones) in the floor, persistents. But don't panic, all the rest was good, the problems were not a nightmare. We would return.

This hotel seemed like something straight out of an episode of faulty towers. The main reception was in the process of being dug up so the access to the stairs was extremely difficult, once in the room we found that the showerhead was held on by a piece of string, there was no toilet roll holder and the washbasin plug didn't work. the room looked as though it badly needed refurbishing. However the bed was clean and very comfortable and the saving grace was an excellent breakfast in the morning.

It's my second stay in Torino for business purposes and I would recommend people to pay a few euro's extra to stay in the Boston Art Hotel. The room I stayed in had an old decoration, it was small but on the other hand it offers value of money. It's one of the cheapest hotels I could find but next time I'll definetely go for the Boston Art again which is in a better neighbourhoud and offers internet access etc.

We were very disappointed with the Due Mondi Hotel. Our room was very basic considering the cost, and the stench of stale cigarette smoke was almost unbearable. The hotel is next to the train station which means good access, but not a terribly good area. I was a bit taken aback at first, but it was not as bad as it first seemed. There was some building work going on right outside, but that was during the day. The rooms however were very nice and clean. The staff was mixed, from very friendly and helpful to a bit moody. For me as a business traveller it was well sufficient as it is also close to restaurants and bars, with many people about in the evening.

This is a reasonable hotel. We were disappointed on two points: (1) the rissotto was distincly average but it had been written up by previous guests as being worth the visit. (2) We reserved for three days but had to check out at the end of two. I had a serious discussion with the desk manager who charged us for three days. In the end, he returned half of the room fare he had charged as well as all of the third day parking fee that I had prepaid. I explained to him that we have been coming to Italy for 30+years, in all seasons, and have checked out ahead of scheduled departure times without ever incurring a penalty. Having to argue my point left us with somewhat of a less than favorable impression of the hotel.

Overall, the hotel was Ok. We requested a parking spot which was not at the hotel but on the same street. The parking was pretty expensive (Euro 15/night). The room was reasonably clean and quiet, but the phone didn't work, the plugs in the bathroom were faulty and there were no tissues in the bathroom. The surrounding were not too nice however (I saw a hooker in the corner of my street!), also my local friends confirmed me later that it was not the area where single women should walk alone late in the evening.

This hotel provided terrific value at the venere rate. It sits on an unbeatable location, just 150 ms away from the RW station and 250 ms from the bus to the airport terminal, yet our room was pretty quiet. The hotel is also within a km ratius of Turin's top attractions. The staff were friendly and accomodating, e.g. when one in our party came down late for breakfast. By the way, contrary to an earlier posting, we found the latter plentiful and varied.

It was a modest environment but very pleasant and comfortable, good value for money. I would recommend the hotel to anyone.

For the price it was excellent..though it was a little shabby and single rooms were too small for a large suitcase to be stored.

The best, the bathroom, very new and nice. The worsdt, breakfast: at 9:30 there was no bread left, no orange juice left, a single croissant on a tray, and a little more. Really poor.

The hotel is situated close to Puerto Nuova railway station which is convenient for the bus to/from the Citta di Torino airport. It is an easy 5 minute walk with luggage. Many other buses and trams stop nearby so it also convenient for getting around the city. However, be aware that the hotel is located on the edge of the "Red Light" district so only walk towards to city centre at night. The hotel has a good restaurant .. it is advisable to book a table for dinner during their busy times (after 8pm). The hotel room was spacious (by European city standards), was clean and warm. The ability to turn on/up the room heating was appreciated during the 4 days it snowed in Turin. My only negative comment relates to the noise level. The room I was given (a large double)was at the front of the hotel and next to the elevator. I was woken by car alarms going off, cars tooting horns, people emptying bottles into the garbage bins etc at all times of the night. Overall, a good experience but next time I would insist on a quieter room at the back of the hotel.

The location is a few blocks from the Central Train station and an easy walk into the city center and everywhere else. The breakfast was excellant with lots of choices. I felt very safe in this area as there are many designer shops with lots of people window shopping.

The room was extremely small. The lamp did't work and was not replaced after my complaining. It was far too hot in the room. The thermostat did not work and was not repaired after my complaining. I had the impression they didn't care much. The "copriletto" was full of holes.

The only concern I had is related to the station area: you need to be very carefull, and a lone woman cannot circulate in this area.
