I did stay one night with my wife and my mum on the way to Croatia. All was perfect, the room clean, the location excellent in the city centre and just 5 minutes walk from the main square and shopping area. Only point, the hotel is located on a road closed to cars hence is recommended to stop or find a park nearby -e.g. by the sea- to download luggage and walk the 50mt to the hotel. The hotel share the permises with a Greek Restaurant with good and convenient food should one decide to eat there. We'll definitely be back.

The hotel is well situated to central Trieste. For those coming and going by train, the station is not far, but maybe a bit too far to walk with a lot of luggage. It is only a 5 euro taxi ride to the hotel. The hotel and my room were very clean. The rooms are furnished in the manner of Greek hotels, being very basic, which I liked. The room was particularly spacious for this category hotel. The air conditioning worked well. Car parking was a bit of an issue, but we did find public parking not far away. Staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was on the basic side compared to other hotels that I have stayed in, but certainly adequate.

Filoxenia hotel is managed by Greek owners in a wonderful location, in the center of Trieste, very close to the sea, and 500 meters from the train station. I had a quiet room in the back. No bidet in the bathrooms. Continental breakfast, sufficient. Good value for money.

The hotel is very well located, and the staff were excellent. We were disappointed with the quality of the room for the price - lino floor and 2 single beds. Overall we would stay again but inspect the room first.

Potrei consigliare quest'albergo a tutti.

First time at this hotel. The walk along Corso Cavour with heavy suitcases (arrived by train)was somewhat more than 5 minutes. Good breakfast included. Central situation so one can walk to most places. Friendly staff.

I stayed in a twin room - not sure if they have doubles. Location of the hotel was very good. The style and design of the rooms are very basic and disappointing, I thought it would have been nicer for the money.

Good position (central and near seafront) but too much noise from buses when the window is opened. The room was a bit basic, but comfortable and very clean. The toilet/shower-room is excellent, but with strange towels! Why are there always twin beds in Europe? We are a couple (as are most travellers over 21!). We expect a DOUBLE bed! Also, it would be nice to have a small kettle in the room. In Britain this is now standard in EVERY room. It means that we can have tea or coffee when we wake up, not have to wait until we have showered, dressed and made-up before we can finally get a drink downstairs! It also means we can come back during the day to rest for an hour or two, and make a drink at the same time. The alternative was to spend a lot of money in cafes and bars. Your staff were extremely friendly and helpful. We did not expect so many people to speak English, as out Italian is poor (but improving!). The breakfast could be slightly improved with some bread, ham etc. I like to get my teeth into my food, and I am not keen on Yoghurt, cerial etc. Overall, the experience was very positive, especially after we had been hugely let-down in Venice. We liked Trieste, especially at night, and the Filoxenia added to our enjoyment. You need some decent beaches badly. Could you pressure your Council to create some artificial beaches,as they have done in parts of Spain and Greece?
