We stayed at Berg Kockelsberg for 2 nights while visiting Trier. It is on a bluff over the Moselle River, opposite Trier, so not a walking distance from town. Beautiful panoramic view from the outdoor portion of the restaurant, and from windows of the restaurant. Food in the restaurant was good and fairly priced. No lift, but the stairs were broad and not too bad to get luggage to 1st floor. Would definitely stay again.

Single male traveller. Was given an annex building away from main hotel with very small rooms. I half expect that as single traveller but there should be mention of it prior to arrival. That aside the main hotel very good and very friendly staff.

The hotel location is great and the rooms are ok - although not very modern. No minibar. Friendly staff. Unfortunately what is the most noticeable in our stay is how disappointed we were with the quality of the dinner we had at the hotel. Everything was tasteless and seemed made up with artificial flavouring - definitely not up to the magnificent view we had from the terrasse. But it was quite good for our diet since after two bad starters and two bad main courses we just refrained ourselves from even trying any dessert!! Breakfast was however fair. Trier is nearby and a nice city - where we did find some good restaurant!

A beautiful town to visit, a lot of monuments and parks. Hotel staff is sufficient but not necessarily enthousiast. Nice and calm surroundings. No particular complaints, rather on the positive side. Would consider this same hotel in case of return to Trier.

This was our second visit here but this time we took friends with us. The staff are very friendly and have very good English (one of the staff in the dining room spoke perfect and rapid English with a wonderful Birmingham accent) The rooms were excellent, the view over Trier, especially at night, is spectacular, the buffet breakfast is very good and the evening meals in the restaurant were excellent. We returned because we had enjoyed our first visit and were not disappointed. Despite some of the comments to the contrary, the hotel is easy to find (if you look at the map!) I noticed it is now signposted by the bridge in Trier.

This property was very nice. Especially because we were traveling with children and required a family type room. Only complaint was the excessive cigarette smoke upon entering the lobby. Otherwise, the property was very nice.

The room was excellent with a view over Trier which was spectacular at night. The food was good, the service was excellent and the staff friendly. The hotel is relatively easy to find as Kockelsberg is signposted from Trier on the bridge. From the north it is signed from the B51

The staff was very hospitable and provided a quick meal for us even though the kitchen was closed. BEAUTIFUL surroundings. English was spoken by most of the staff. This is a lovely hotel with loads of ambience.

We are a family of five, and we han a pleasant stay at the hotel. Espesially we were pleased to get such a lovely breakfast. Although, my youngest daughter was a bit disapointed because the tower was locked. In fact she was the one that choosed the hotel and much of the reson was the tower.
