Can't walk in the park at daytime because of the mosquitoes, as generally is the case in most of northern Italy. But with three young children we picked this hotel for the park and we had to stay indoor! It needs a swimming pool to be at least in the water, escaping the mosies. Restaurant was shut on a Monday! Another reason we picked that hotel was for the restaurant. Breakfast buffet is not great either. Only good mark goes to the very welcoming staff.

The hotel itself is lovely and the adjoining restaurant is fantastic (superb food and wonderful service from the chef and server). The problem is with the hotel staff. At the time we went (January), there were only one or two other rooms occupied. There was only one member of staff who looked after reception, made breakfast and (presumably) cleaned the room when we were out. This should not be too taxing for a handful of guests but she was not up to the job. She always seemed more interested in watching her soaps on the TV behind the reception desk. Breakfast was terrible (cereal, bread, ham and cheese) and one day ran out of bread! How can you run out of bread with this number of guests? Why couldn't she go to the shop down the street and get some? Why didn't she even offer any explanation or apology. There is a very small bar in the hotel but it was never open. Overall, a good hotel and worth going for the restaurant BUT beware of the poor service you can expect in the hotel itself.

I can't praise this hotel highly enough. It was a beautiful old building but extremely well furbished in a good blend of old and new. It was quiet, welcoming, spotlessly clean, breakfast was good, and they even kept the restaurant open for us when we arrived very late and very hungry! - Oh and the food in the restaurant was absolutely delicious - I've never tasted such fresh fish, cooked to perfection. The staff speak little English and I've seen another review which rated it poorly because of this. But this is Italy - expect people to speak Italian and try a little in return! All the staff we met were helpful, professional and ultra-friendly. The hotel is near enough a main road to be easily accessible to Venice and both airports, but is set in a lovely wooded area and therefore the rooms are very very quiet. I can't recommend this hotel highly enough. If you want a quiet location near Venice but away from the crowds, stay here!

Hotel is on a very busy road, which seemed to stay busy all night. Suggest requesting a room at the back, which should be very quiet. Conveniently located to Venice airport in cute but small town of Roncade. Our room was not as nicely appointed as room in photo, but was perfectly fine. The hotel/restaurant's garden was truly lovely and very pleasant to sit in & relax. The restaurant next door is really excellent. I'm allergic to shrimp and the chef came out to explain all the ways he could modify the menu to accommodate my needs. The dishes he served were truly inspired. If you're looking for a respite from the craziness and high prices of Venice, this could be a good option.

Overall experience was good but the regular staff couldn't speak English. The hotel is in a quiet part of town and accessible to Venice only if you have a car.

We arrived late, so had to seek staff in the next door restaurant, which looked lovely. Sorry we did not have chance to eat there, but we will definitely return. The hotel is so near the Autostrada, that it could not be more convenient for onward travel from Marco Polo. The hotel exceeded our expectations. We like small, intimate and gracious : this had it all.

This is a nice hotel, off the beaten track a bit, but not too remote. The rooms are clean and comfortable, but somewhat spartan. The bathroom was a bit more lururious with a fancy sink and jacuzzi tub (but no shower). Basic breakfast. Proprietor spoke no English.

This is a delightful find at a fabulous price! We loved it, though we stayed only one night. It's somewhat off the beaten track, but a good location between Treviso and Venice, and close to both cities' airports. You clearly need a car to stay here. It's like a French villa, tucked away off the street. Large rooms and big, modern bathrooms. Good breakfast. There's a fabulous restaurant down the street, called Restaurant Galli. Charming town and hotel -- I would definitely return, especially to avoid Venice's overpriced hotels.

Both the room and the bath are very clean and spacious and recently renewed. the people at the reception are polite and competent. the breakfast served at buffet is not too various but fresh and tasty. The once villa is now a cozy place where to spend a holiday. The hotel is easy to find and in a good position if you want to visit the interesting towns and historical places in the north east of Italy. Treviso is just 10 minutes drive and from there Venice is 30 minutes by train. I certainly recommend this hotel: Very good value for money

Excellent value for money and highly recommendable. Restaurant should have a priced menu, plus a covered walkway between Hotel and restaurant would be ideal in adverse weather conditions.

This small inn was an unexpected and delightful find. Set in a spacious park,in the charming small town of Roncade, near Venice and Padua, is an excellent base for anyone traveling by car. It is only about 15 minutes from Marco Polo Aitport (Venice). Parking is free and quite secure. The restaurant on the property serves only seafood, however there is a very good restaurant in the town, only 5 minutes away. We have stayed often in places in Italy where little or no English was spoken and managed somehow to communicate with the aid of a phrase book. Be warned that does not work here. Communicating anything is a problem. That being said, The Villa Selvatica is very good value for money.

Peaceful area for who enjoys the marvellous country side of Venise (30 minutes to Venice by car). Accessible only by car, we could visit the Castello of Roncade where we tasted the great wine & discovered a huge 400 year old Lebanese cedar (in the same village). Shouldn’t miss also the beach resort Isola located some 40 kms east; a surprising place.

This is a small hotel 11 kms from Trviso, NOT 6 kms as they claim. It seems to be an old villa refurbished. Room was very good. Looks new, spacious and comfortable. Staff are thin on ground, and cordial at best. There is a front garden which is pleasant. Next door ( open to the hotel) is a villa/restaurant set in beautiful grounds. But the road is very busy and quite noisy. Roncarde is a small village without much character. There is a 600 year old Venitian mansion. If you have a car, this hotel is a very good option. If not, bear in mind buses are only once an hour approx. ( to Treviso) and taxis are about E25. Taxi to Treviso airport is approx E36. Treviso itself is a lovely walled town and well worth some time. Buses to Venice from there are cheap ( about E3 ) and frequent. There is also a sizable train station.

Of the 10 or so hotels we have stayed in during our European tour, this hotel was by far one of the best we encountered. In order to use this wonderful hotel you must have a car, as it is a 20 minute drive from Venice. The hotel itself is gorgeous from its vine covered parking lot to quaint lobby and relatively spacious rooms. The bathroom has its own whirlpool tub that worked very well. One of the extremely nice ladies that work there knows English. Note that if you arrive late in the evening as we did, the people who run the hotel may be at the adjacent restaurant , which they also run. Speaking of the adjacent restaurant: The adjoining restaurant was one of the best deals for food we had in Europe. At this seafood-only, beautifully decorated place, we shared an excellent lobster spaghetti, and fish raviolli for only 25 euro combined. To get food this good in Venice proper would have easily cost us 60 euro. I strongly believe that this hotel was one of the best ways to stay at Venice. The price we got at Relais was half as much as the cheapest hotels in Venice. I would definitely return to this wonderful hotel.

Overall, we enjoyed our stay here. The property is beautiful, quiet, and great for relaxing. Only 2 complaints: the jacuzzi tub in our room was broken during our stay and we were not moved to another room or given a discount, and the hotel is further from Treviso than the description states. We went into Venice each day and had to take a bus to Treviso (runs every 30-60 mins, 25 min ride), walk to the train station (5 mins), then take a train to Venice (runs every 30 mins, 30 min ride). It worked out ok for us, and the center of Roncade is only a 10 minute walk from the hotel and has a castle and several restaurants.

Very nice place to stay that offers you a rest from the tourist hell in Venice. It is not difficult to find the hotel at all. Venice is however easily accessible within half an hour (from the station Quarto d'Altino) as well as the charming town of Treviso (only 10km from Roncade).
