Quite the best welcome we have received anywhere. The place is meticulously clean and the views accross the lake and to the surrounding mountains are outstanding. The staff were wonderful and I cannot prase the place enough. The only negative that I didn't pick up in my haste to book after I read the reviews is that the hotel is a good way up a mountainside out of the town. Others, braver than I, talked of walking up and down. We took the car. There is however a lovely little trattoria just 100m away which was a lovely find. Unpretentious and genuinely Italian. I can't reccomend the place highly enough for someone looking for peace and quiet in lovely surroundings

We had a great time at La Perla. The location and view is excellent. The staff were couteous and very helpful on the local area. The room was well equiped and spotlessly clean. Breakfast was very good and a lovely experience given the view from the terrace. Highly recommended.

One of the best staffs we encountered in Italy. Proffessional and courteous. Wish we had asked for a room on the 2nd or 3rd level, instead of the 1st level, just to have a better view and a deck to sit on. Could have stayed a lot more than 2 nights. A car is a must, due to the hotel's location, but well worth the drive up the hill to the hotel. Great,quiet,wonderful views and attention to all details put this hotel on the top of our list when we return to this area for a visit.

The hotel is an excellent value for the area. However the hotel is located a considerable distance [higher] above Lake Como than it would appear from the photos. We found the hotel somewhat difficult to find after dark.

How to reach Hotel La Perla

By car
From Milan, take the A9 motorway and exit at 'Como Nord'. Proceed along the SS340 highway, towards Mennagio. Reach Tremezzo, proceed straight on for about 100 meters. after the church, turn left, following the Intignano direction.

From Lugano, take the A2 motorway, and exit at 'Lugano Nord'. Follow signs to Gandria, Porlezza and Menaggio. Once you arrive at the traffic lights in Menaggio, drive for about 6 km along the lake towards Como. In Tremezzo, pass the AGIP petrol station and turn right towards Intignano.

By train
From Lugano train station: 35 km.
From Como San Giovanni and Como Nord train station: 25 km.

By airplane
From Lugano-Agno airport: 35 km.
From Milano-Malpensa airport: 80 km.
From Milano-Linate airport: 90 km.
From Bergamo-Orio al Serio airport: 120 km.
