Amazing hotel and beautiful garden. Service excellent and public areas sumptuous. Authentic, traditional, stylish

The Breakfast was just poor at all for a 5 Star Hotel! The Service at the Breakfast was adjoining effrontery!!!

We spent two nights at the Hotel Grand Tremezzo Palace, one in a lake view room and the second a garden view. The hotel was very accomodating in moving us. Both rooms were nicely appointed, though the lake view larger and pricier. The setting was beautiful and luxurious; it felt like something out of a different era. The clientele seemed to be largely retirees. Though it was an expensive weekend away, it was rejuvenating and gentile. There isn't much in the immediate surroundings in terms of restaurants or nightlife. The hotel restaurant could not accomodate us on the Saturday night. Drinks on the terrace are wonderful and varied (a Singapore Sling, anyone?), but at 13 euro each, perhaps consider picking up some duty free wine to enjoy in your room!

This hotel is totally overated. The room we had was so small we had to move out of each others way to walk. We had to keep our clothes in our suitcases because there was no where to put them . The staff was stuck up. When we asked to upgrade , even though there were rooms available. we were told that we would have to pay an add't 190 euros . It was ridiculous. The restaurants were extremely expensive also and the portions were ridicously small.

Staff and property outstanding. Room Price somewhat inflated. Food price excessively high compared to surronding areas where great restaurants available within walking distance at a fraction of the cost.

This hotel is a beautiful old hotel in a gorgeous part of Italy. The surroundings can't be beat. We just felt that the value wasn't there for the price that we paid. We had just left a similar quality hotel in Lucerne, Switzerland (The Palace), and this property paled in comparison. We paid much more money at the Grand Tremezzo Hotel for less space and accomodations. The breakfasts were good -- although service was inadequate on some mornings. We had one dinner at the hotel's Wine Cellar restaurant. The meal was superb. However, it was very expensive. We had many meals in the local area that were on par with it for much less money. We're fortunate that we have the means to afford to splurge. If we were traveling on more of a budget, I would have been very upset. Ambiance is important, but not worth twice the price.
