Hotel staffs' English ability is not high enough for international work / travelers. Toilet seat was broken - very loose - almost coming off, but the staffs' limited English ability made it difficult to report this so we did not report it. We had dinner at the hotel - the quality was average or below. The hotel's "PR" says they are providing high quality and standars. My opinion is that they are "wanna be's" - they want to be considered high quality & international, but they don't have the experience or ability yet.

I write this comment in English because I want to reach especially foreign tourists, those who might leave Italy with more bad opinions on Southern Italy and less money in their bank account. I don't have much to say about the accomodation: beautiful location, spacious and tidy rooms (altough impersonally furnished). We had to take a cold shower because they were experiencing some problems with the boiler: this allowed us to have a price reduction of 10%, but we were very disappointed discovering that the price we paid (€ 135 reduction included instead of € 150) was still higher than the one they applied to people without web reservation (€ 130). The main problem was to reach the hotel with the car: getting around in Trani is very complicated, even with a GPS navigator! I would have expected the receptionist to be of some help (we are talking about an hotel with a reputation to be THE BEST in Trani), but he was everything but helpful: he strongly discouraged us from bringing the car into the hotel parking area, without saying something that (the day after...) we understood as being "common knowledge" among Trani's inhabitants: in Trani there is plenty (and when I say plenty, I mean PLENTY!) of car thefts. I suppose It is redundant to say that our car was stolen. At the police office we queued with some other people whose car had mysteriously disappeared… I won’t go as far as to say that there was an active involvement of hotel personnel… but the night guardian should have strongly suggested that we put our car in a safe place, don’t you think so?

This was an excellent base to get to know Trani and its surroundings. Because of the one way systems the hotel was not easy to get to by road. Clearer instructions need to be provided. All staff were friendly and professional and they helped us in any way they could.

This is my 3rd trip to Trani, which is a beautiful seaside town. It was a little difficult to find because of the narrow streets and not enought directions. I believed we would have wi-fi connection in our room. The only computer available was on the reception desk. I think there should be separate computer for guest use in the Reception or wi-fi facilities in the guest rooms. The hotel was lovely with a beautiful location and the staff very warm and friendly.

I fell in love with this hotel when we visited Trani last year, so was delighted to have the chance to stay there this year. The best thing about it is its stunning location, overlooking the beautiful cathedral and alongside the sea. It is the only commercial building in the piazza, which is pedestrianised. This makes the location very quiet (fortunately the cathedral bell doesn't ring during the night!)but just round the corner is the lively and pretty harbour, with loads of restaurants. The hotel itself is very nice; it is an 18c Palazzo, which inside has been restored in a quiet, airy, modern style. Customer service was fine. We didn't get to try the restaurant; breakfast was good quality standard Italian, enhanced by the opportunity to sit on the terrace facing sea, palm trees and cathedral. Bliss! The old city of Trani is lovely; also worth visiting is Barletta, and, for a longer trip, the lovely wooded Gargano peninsula.

We were absolutely delighted with the Hotel Regia. Everything possible was done to ensure a pleasant stay and the location of the hotel on the harbour and the views were exquisite. The room was very spacious and the bathroom extremely large by Italian standards. There was even free internet
