Hotel Tours Giraudeau - Tours

The hotel was comfortable and the breakfast good. We regretted that there was no evening meal available, having driven down all day from Calais. If one follows the driving directions they are clear but the hotel is situated on the right hand side of the street just over 100 metres from its end!

No English spoken by staff at all, but I guess I should have expected that. My wife speaks French, so we managed. The offerings at the hotel bar were meager. They could have had a wider selection of wines and something more to snack on than peanut-flavored corn puffs for the weary traveler. The immediate area is a bit austere for the visitor, but a brisk walk in either of two directions reveals some more exciting parts of Tours. Staff could be more ready and willing to help the guest identify and locate things of interest in the city and in the area. Rooms basic and functional, but no complaints. We were cold in the room until we asked about turning the heat up, only to be told that the control was in the room under the desk. I thought the device was an air conditioner and not a heater! Street parking was free. I would return simply for the value offered.

The Hotel is clean and welcoming but it is located further from the centre of tours than it appears on the web page description. This is a good value basic hotel.

L' hotel giraudeau est très agréable; la chambre quadruple est spacieuse ;il est un peu plus éloigné du coeur de tours mais franchement par rapport à un hotel en plein centre qui serait beaucoup plus cher, il n' y a pas photo: cet hotel est idéal pour un séjour en touraine.

The room was very hot, with only fans to provide some cooling. There was a very annoying drone from a ventilation system (we think) that made it difficult to sleep. Room was clean, spacious and good bathroom. The takeaway pizza down the road is great! Very clean, friendly and nice pizzas.
