Concorde Hotel de l'Univers - Tours

We had a very good experience at this hotel. We booked it as it was near the main station, and indeed it was a 5 - 10 minute flat walk with wheely suitcases. It is about a 15-20 minute walk into the old part of town which houses most of the bars and restaurants but not a difficult one. The staff were extremely helpful in suggesting restaurants and providing directions and offering to make bookings. The room we stayed in was very spacious and had a good bath. The breakfast was included in our booking and was a buffet with some hot food included in pleasant surroundings. The hotel as a whole is well appointed.

I am not sure if the hotel has better rooms but we were put in a horribly old and tired room. The first impression on the room was tidy but not clean. They have these horrible bed spreads and 10 year old blankets on the beds. Luckily underneath there were a clean white sheet otherwise I would not have slept in the bed. I find the hotel horribly expensive. Breakfast was also terrible. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Breakfast included in weekend deal was OK. Not worth paying for separately.

When I asked for 2 sets of toothbrush for my family, hotel provided "used", which was unbelievable. Location is excellent.

Nice and huge rooms. Nice bathrooms. French style. Well located, close to the old town, train station, restaurants. Very close to a gourmet store "Maison L Hote", episerie fine.

Room rather small and bathroom not well laid out. Nice and quiet though, despite central location in Tours.

A very elegant hotel with an excellent breakfast and attentive and competent staff all of whom spoke very good English. The room was spacious and comfortable with quality furnishings and linen. the exchange rate of Euro/£ made it quite expensive but nevertheless it was a pleasure to stay at the hotel and we wouldrecommend it to others.

Very hot, no cooling in the rooms. No drinks making facilities - but you can grab a bottle of water from the fridge (sorry, mini-bar!) for an extortionate 5 euros.

Well locaded, 5 min walk from rail station, close to the city hall and the center. Large, quiet room, a little bit oldstiled but lovable. Tours is a small, nice city: great for a romantic weekend.

Fantastic customer service. Staff fluent in English and extremely helpful at all times. My 84 year old mother was treated like a Queen and she was very comfortable. The venue is so good that we booked in and spent another night on our way home. Tip for others, we discovered that the rates available thru Venere were much better than those offered directly by the Hotel.

Situated right in the centre of the city - ideal for shopping and visiting the sites. Good access to private garage. Large, well-equipped room at a reasonable price. Well-trained, helpful and agreeable staff. We can thoroughly recommend this hotel.

Very old and dark rooms. Very poor buffet breakfast. Excellent location and very kind and proffessional staff.

The hotel is ideally situated. Car park helpful. Dinner was excellent.No food available on Sunday night ( except room service ). Breakfast ( not taken ) seemed expensive. Bar cosy but heavily contaminated with cigarette/cigar smell. Staff friendly and attentive. One big hall/sitting area that was "splendid" but was like sitting in a barn.

Our room was quiet, spacious and beautifly decorated. The staff were very helpful. Hotel has a parking lot inside the building. Conveniently located near the SNCF train station.
