The staff were so helpful and welcoming. We only stayed in Toulouse one night but we enjoyed our stay in Riquet Hotel and would certainly stay there if we return. The only thing to complain about was we were given double bed and would have preferred twin. Our bedroom was beside the lift and early in the morning there were people checking out and the door of the lift was closed very loudly. Will certainly stay there again.

This is a great find in a great town. My wife and I have lived and traveled in Europe extensively and this is on the best values we have found. The owners and staff are very helpful and in French and English. The rooms are spacious and plenty big enough. Bathrooms are large, clean and recently renovated.

Myself and 3 colleagues had a fantastic time at Hotel Riquet. Very convenient location, 5-10 minutes walking distance from train station, and 10 minutes walking distance from Place Wilson (where the nicest part of Toulouse starts) and its restaurants (I dined at Le Bon Vivre and liked it a lot). The surrounding areas is not particularly nice, but as I said the hotel is close to the best of the city and, despite the short distance from the train station, the area felt safe. Had no problems speaking English with employees, who were also very friendly. Room small but clean, very quiet neighborhood wireless included in rate (and perfectly functional). Excellent shower (unlike so many, even in pricy hotels, it was very easy to set the temperature you wanted, with the flow of water you wanted). I would certainly go back. A short comment about the train station: none of my credit cards worked and the do-it-yourself ticket machines at the station do not take cash, so plan accordingly if you want to travel by train (also, I think the ticket counter opens at 7AM, so if you need to take a morning train you may be better off purchasing your ticket at least one day before).

Our room was very small and not as indicated in pictures or descriptions. A club room was meant to have a larger bed, but it was the minimum size for 2 people. Bathroom was also very small with poor facilities and the shower was dirty. Very little help was given at reception when we asked to move room.

It's easy walking distance from the train station about 8 mins with wheel luggage. We didn't know how to do that when we arrived and the taxi fare was very expensive. Clean and efficient service. Walking distance to the main centre of town. We had to change to a bigger room ços we wanted a twin. The cost is different but not much. Very comfortable stay.

The staff are amazing and despite some of the other comments about Toulouse I found it to be a fantastic city full of great people, cool sites and winding roads. The hotel is very well situated and the staff are quick to tell you where all the right places are to go. I am indebted to them for their kindness and would absolutely return to Hotel Riquet if I ever find myself in Toulouse, I felt like I left there with friends, and I really do mean that. I am a picky traveller and I would recommend this to anyone that was looking for a boutique place to stay while on holiday, or business. It was also perfectly safe at night (as long as you are not planning on being out after 1 or 2 am...but that is the case in any city.

I was in Toulouse for just one night en route to the Pyrenees and had booked Hotel Riquet mostly because of the positive reviews on Venere and Trip Advisor - I was not disappointed. The receptionist was very welcoming and upgraded me to a superior room (while still paying for the cheaper one) 'because it was Friday.' The next morning I ordered a coffee from room service and they brought me a basket of breads and croissants - complimentary of course! All the staff were helpful, kind and knowledgeable. They gave me a map, stored my luggage and provided all the info I needed. The room was clean, comfortable and quiet - and near the station. What more do you need?

hotel is well located for the main train station, being only a 5 minute walk away. 5 to 10 minute walk to the city centre. can't really fault the hotel, but overall it was just a little bit old fashioned, and uninspiring for our tastes (couple in early 30's). clean, tidy, nice staff, nice court yard area outside - just difficult to get excited about overall. We though it was a little expensive for a 2 star hotel as well.

Hotel very close to the station, short walk to the city centre. Standard room has NO minibar although indicated on webpage. Some staff members lacks professionalism such as basic politeness in front of customers. Very broad range of room quality, parts of the hotel are obviously not modernized yet, others are nicely furnished with great respect to details. At least one room has NO door between sleeping room and toilet (there is a thin curtain) which is a problem when you are not travelling alone.

I left a new hat behind in a nearby restaurant and only discovered it after I'd returned home to the US. The owner of the hotel went to the restaurant, retrieved my hat and mailed it back to me. It was a special hat I bought while in France and I was so sad to have lost it. The level of service during our stay was impeccable, but the service after was above and beyond all expectations. We look forward to returning someday and staying at Hotel Riquet. Thanks again!

The price of a room at Hotel Riquet is way above any of the similar sort of hotels in the vicinity. The price of the breakfast is 9 euro and not 8 as the website said and the other 2* hotels offer breakfast at 5/6 euros. I won't book over the internet if ever in Toulouse again. I was there in peak season and you can walk into most hotels and book a room and save on internet booking cost. I did not have a pleasant experience! Sorry. The hotel is fantastic, and I was very surprised by this, because the price of the room I booked was really low. Staff is very kind and efficient, and speak English and (most of them) Spanish. The only thing is that, if you go there in the summer and choose a club hotel single room, then be prepared, since these rooms have no air conditioning. In the winter there will be no problem (they all have heat). During my stay, I also stayed in a junior suite for 4 days. It is spacious, has air conditioning, and the bathroom is just amazing. Breakfast is also very nice. I really enjoyed my stay there. When I go back to Toulouse, I’ll stay there again for sure.

"A Bijou in Toulouse" The Hotel Riquet is a wonderful botique hotel centrally located mins. from the main tourist areas and a 5 min. walk to the train/bus station. We booked a junior suite for 6 days. Upon arrival, Madame Piganiol, the owner, greeted us personally and very cordially. Our room, which was one of the largest we have had on many trips to France, had two windows overlooking the courtyard. It was very peaceful and the only activity was the neighborhod cat walking across the rooftops. The room was well equipped including a very confortable ks bed. The bathroom included a soaking tub, separate shower and two sinks and separate w/c. It appeared that the room/bathroom had been recently renovated. Madame Piganiol and her staff all spoke excellent English. This was helpful for me, even though my spouse speaks French! The staff was quite helpful with restaurant recommendations and train day trip planning to Albi and Carcassonne. We have already recommended this property to personal friends. Toulouse is joie de vivre!

We chose the executive room which was very comfortable, quiet and well furnished (though quite expensive for this type of hotel). The bathroom was very modern and clean. The mini bar with free soft drinks and the tea/coffee making facilities were very welcome.Reception desk staff were all very friendly and helpful. There is no restaurant in the hotel for dinner but we can strongly recommend a small restaurant nearby called "La Brindille" (don't be put off by the rather unpretentious entrance). The main railway station and town centre are within 10 minutes easy walk. If coming from the airport you can get off the airport bus at the Jean Jaures metro station and walk to the hotel in less than 10 minutes.

Immaculately clean but bland. Perfect for a quick overnight stay. As close to the station as you can be without being in one of the rougher roads whcih lead down from the station. Not much character but great value for money, although breakfast seemed aexpensice but I didn't have any as plenty of cafés nearby. Five minutes walk into town and to the station. The single rooms was literally a single room - one single bed, a TV, tiny shower room french window, nice and warm, and the street quiet so you could leave a window open at night.

We loved this hotel and Toulouse. We figured it would be a great place to pick-up a car and head to Lourdes. We had no idea we would fall in love with this college town. The map to the hotel is not the greatest, but then again nothing on venere.com (we have found) has a good map. very warm welcome by front desk accompanied with some general guidleines of finding our way around the town and a few suggestions for restaurants. Location was very central as only a short 5 minute stroll had us into the main square, but stll far enough away from the hustle & bustle to avoid any excessive noise. Rooms were refurbished to a good standard and compared with any other room I've had in most other cities in france, very spacious. Didn't avail of the breakfast on site as, out of habit, we alway tend to get into the town and find somewhere local to use, but the breakfast room looked well equipped and to the same high level as the rest of the hotel. Any staff I came into contact with were very polite and happy and spoke better english than I can speak French. All in all the room was great value for money! Would definitely stay there again. However the breakfast for an additional 8 euro was absolute rubbish, stocks were low and service was well below average at the breakfast, steer clear!

The Irquet is nice little family-run hotel, close ( 10 min walking distance) to the center of toulouse. The staff was friendly, the romm was nice and clean, and they offer a private parking in their courtyard. I would recommend this hotel!

We had the best welcome we have ever had in France from the hotel manager/owner. She was very kind, giving us a map, advice on where to find good restaurants, and generally very friendly and thoughtful. The room we had was a junior suite - it was huge, and the bed was the biggest we have ever slept in! The decor was modern and fresh, the en suite facilities were fabulous - shower and bath, two sinks seperate WC, and everything was absolutely spotless. The breakfast was served in a small dining area - self service - and was adequate. For a two star hotel, it was as plush as a 4 star. We travelled on and stayed in other hotels with higher ratings which came nowhere near the standard of Hotel Riquet. It really is worth a stay, and great value for money. We had thought that as it is near the railway station, it might have been in a run down part of town, but that is not the case. It is a few metres from the main road to the town centre and within easy walking distance from all of the towns attractions. Great restaurants nearby, the pictures, buses at hand, and metro. Perfect.

An excellent hotel with very friendly and helpful staff. The hotel is only a short walk from Toulouse Matabiau railway station and the airport bus, and only slightly further from the city centre with its wide selection of restaurants, shops and cafes. Highly recommended in general - we'll certainly want to stay again the next time that we're in Toulouse.

The hotel keepers are very kind and pleasant. However the one-people room is like a narrow corridor and the overall price/quality rate is not quite good. Furthermore there is no advantage to rent through internet, prices are the same with direct payment on site. Global advice: mixed feelings.

Hotel was in reality as it was pictured on website. Owners and employees were very helpful and friendly. Decor was "tres jolie". It was very convenient to the train station and for walking around the city of Toulouse. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay there, would stay there again, and would recommend it to others.

warm and friendly welcome. The room (one of those shown on the website) had recently been renovated and was nice and quite. As we were looking for a "Cassoulet" restaurant, the reservation was done for us by the employee, and the restaurant was really good. I recommand this hotel, which is also very near to everything in Toulouse.
