Grand Hotel Dauphiné - Toulon

Overall Grand Hotel Dauphine was very good. We were expecting a small room and that was the case. The only fault was the hardness of the bed which was like a rock. Everything else was above average.

Rugby Trip It served its' purpose very well.

Good hotel with value.

Could not fault the service provided.

Staff were exceptionally helpful regarding early check in and stress free check in and bill payment.

L'Hotel è situato in una zona non accebilie con la macchina, all'intenrno di un mercatino rionale. Per chi viene in macchina è abbastanza scomodo, anche perchè l'unico garage (a pagamento) è a 50mt. La città non è un gran chè, ed il posto dove è inserito l'Hotel è abbastanza affollato durante il giorno e la sera. L'Hotel è accettabile, ma con camere piccole e molto vecchie, anche se ristrutturate. La colazione, invece, è discreta. Altra nota positiva (per la Francia), il personale parlava inglese.

This hotel is centrally located in Toulon, generally the staff were accomodating and helpful although when full were unable to provide extra pillows. Toulon itself is a bit like Portsmouth but with better weather so not suitable for a long stay. The room did overlook a small court yard which meant no view at all which was disappointing but others had pointed this out before. When we asked for extra pillows was told they could not provide these as they were full which was a bit of annoyance.

The staff at Grand Hotel Dauphine were very helpful. They were always ready to answer our questions and to help with general enquiries about the area. Our room was a little small, but in excellent condition. It was very clean and tidy and the housekeeping staff did an excellent job of cleaning and tidying our room everyday. The shower and bathroom were particularly attractive. The location of the hotel is great... very close to the harbour and right in the centre of the city. I would definitley stay at this hotel again and would also recommend it to others.

Schönes Hotel für den Preis, in der Fußgängerzone von Toulon und nicht weit weg vom Hafen, wo es viele Restaurants gibt.

It was hard to find the Hotel by car and to find a parking space. The rooms are allright, big bathroom, TV. Good value for the money.

Everything was gr8, we actually got free parking, may be because it was a weekend night. There was some construction going on, on the outside of the building. Prior info about this may have been helpful but since it was weekend there were no issues, but there may be noise on week days. The hotel was very close to the daily market, old town center, opera, overall a gr8 location. Very large room and price was very low.

I liked the hotel. The room is spacious.the parking is paid but it is nearby to the hotel and it is not expensive.Cost-benefit is good.

This hotel is located right in downtown Toulon, which is convenient. The hotel is quite good value if you happen to stay in this city. However, I would say the area was not that nice at night (Toulon is an important port and does have the feeling of one if you know what I mean). Even though we were told that the surroundings were safe, the area still did not seem very good. This is, however, not the hotel's fault but rather a concern about the city itself. As I said, I do recommend this hotel if you stay in Toulon.

First and foremost, it was very difficult to arrive at the hotel. I used a satnav and with the one way system, it took over an hour to find the street. When I did eventually find it the next problem was how do you pass the bollards,with the help of a waiter from a nearby restaurant, who pressed the relevant intercom to the hotel to allow us access to pedestrinised area. I am not sure if this was in the description. The staff were very helpful at the hotel. We ate at a small restaurant in the side street adjacent, called La Caleche 15 Rue Corneille, the food was of excellent quality and presented extremely well. For 67 euros we had a 2 course meal, of our choice, Le Carre D'agneau for the main course and a dessert, a good bottle of red wine, water and my husband had a beer. There were set menus as another choice making a meal there much cheaper.
