Hotel Neptuno - Tossa de Mar

I went @ Neptuno with my girlfriend. We had a wonderful stay with respect to welcoming, cleanliness, food and hotel location. We also stayed a night longer in the end.If ever again in Tossa we will certainly stay @ Neptuno. Some remarks: a better wall insonoritation would be appreciated and some more 2-places bed available for coouples, also, rather than two 1-place beds side by side.

We weren’t really expecting a lot from the Neptuno, and had only booked as a cheap extension to our holiday after 3 days in Barcelona. However we only have praise for the hotel, which at the beginning of May provided exceptional value for money. The reception staff were very polite and helpful and all spoke good English, the general cliental of the hotel during our stay were “older” English and German couples which didn’t both us as a relatively young couple (30 & 26) as the hotel was generally peaceful and quite. We paid €43 per night for a double room (B&B) which was facing the pool and the mountains and which was kept very clean and well stocked for the duration of our stay. The breakfasts were of a reasonable standard for the grade of hotel and price paid, and consisted of a buffet of pastries / cereals, and a cooked option of sausage’s, bacon, egg’s Ect. The hotel has a very good location in a quieter part of the town, whilst only being a very short walk down into the old town & Villa Vella, and also an easy stroll to the newer part of the town and the market area, the only point to note is that it is a relatively steep (if short) walk up to the hotel which may not be suitable for anyone with impaired mobility. I would defiantly recommend this hotel as a cheaper option to some of the other hotels in the area., although we did note that in the high season the price rises to somewhere near €120 per night which may be a little excessive for the grade of the hotel (very moderate 3* at best)

Although we have stayed in Tossa several times over the last few years, this is our first visit to Hotel Neptuno. We were very pleasantly surprised. The reception area and lounges are decorated in traditional Spanish style with old sideboards, tables and chairs with pictures on every wall, which we prefer to the standard clinical feel of some other modern hotels. We had a room overlooking the pool which was small but clean and tidy, although the bathroom needed an update (seventies style)! The hotel pool is smaller than some and most of the pool and patio area are in the shade for most of the day, but if you want to enjoy the pool area, take a walk to the Oasis Hotel (anohter GHT hotel) which has an excellent pool area. (in the sun)! We found all the staff to be friendly and helpful and enjoyed the entertainment in the hotel, but watch out for the flamenco guitarist who couldn't tune his guitar and sounded dreadful (like a Spanish Les Dawson)! The hotel is situated at the top of a hill which some may find difficult but it didn't present us with any problems. Take a five minute walk and you're in the centre of Tossa town and the beach. We stayed half board which we found adequate, although we did eat out a couple of nights but nevertheless the food was fine, plenty of it and choice. We will definitely visit Neptuno again

Accueil favorable, service également,mais petit déjeuner et demi pension lamentable.peu de choix, plat froid et de qualité plus que moyenne. par ailleurs, ventilation extérieure de l'établissement extremement désagréable d'ou des odeurs nauséabondes dès le petit matin ne reviendraipas

No ocean view, ie. we were not asked per internet what type of room we wanted in this respect. Breakfast quality was very poor for this kind of hotel standard (***): very bad coffee, tea and fruit juice. Bread quality also very poor. Good hotel but breakfast is very important when you wake up! Thanks you.

It was a great vacation in a very nice and beatitfull hotel!!!

All the above relates to Hotel OASIS TOSSA as that is where we stayed (Neptune was not open in early May)

The hotel was in a traditional style, clean,and the staff friendly. The choice of food at breakfast was limited, but excellent value.The only drawback was the level of soundproofing between rooms which was poor, and the sound of conversations in adjoining rooms carried easily! Luckily, our neighbours were not boisterous!
