We chose this hotel at the Leopardi Station because it was reasonably priced and had Circumvesuviana access to Ercolano and Pompeii. This was true but transportation from the train depot to the hotel after 9 PM is almost nonexistent. One night my wife stood alone at the bus stop and some guy offered her a ride and I jumped in too. There were NO taxis or buses available. During the day you can get a collectivo for 1 euro from the hotel to the train station. The staff is nice and the breakfast adequate. There is a good view of the Med and a beach across the street. Many restaurants nearby.

I would not recommend this hotel becasue it is old, a bit dirty and the surroundings are terrible. There is a view on the Naples bay but the streets are so dirty, full of strange looking people etc. We felt scared to go out to have a meal outside hotel. The hotel restaurant was quite good. To be fair the positive is it is very close to Pompei and Vesuvio.

The hotel is located so close to the water that you can hear the waves crashing, but don't let this fool you into staying here. It is so very noisy that at night it is a near miracle to get any sleep. The hotel is off a busy street which makes it noisy all night and makes for an early wake-up call. Our air conditioning didn't work so deciding between a hot room or opening the window to a noisy outside. It is very close to Sorrento, Naples, Pompei, ect...that would be the only plus of this hotel.

We have really enjoyed this place the 31st of December as it is a very special day ! The restaurant is excellent and people all very nice and helpful. Only difficult point: the noise in the room from the outside and from the inside. But it is a very charming hotel from the 70's and perfect for families.

The hotel was exactly what we expected. While the area is active at night, if you get a room with air conditioning so you can keep the windows closed at night sleeping should be no problem. The staff were great and did a great job of communicating in English. This hotel is a great place to stay to get the feel for a genuine Italian town and is very close to all the main attractions in the area.

The hotel is very nice. Our Capri room had an outstanding view of the bay and peninsula. The staff was friendly, the restaurant was good, and the secure parking lot was a plus. The only drawback was the depressed state of the surrounding area; the hotel is by far the nicest thing around for miles. We recommend the Holidays as a great place to stay while spending your days exploring nearby Pompeii, Herculaneum, and the Amalfi Coast.

The best hotel out of three that we stayed at in Italy. Air conditioning was excellent. View from baclony was excellent of Napoli Bay. Not alot of restaurants nearby but some. Outside of Naples and easy access to Pompeii, Amalfi coast and Sorrento. I would return here. Staff very helpful and friendly!

Generally value for money was very good, but breakfast was a problem as we often needed to ask for items such as cold milk for cereal, fruit juice. Usually we had a choice of croissants, but not always enought go round; on one occassion they were all chocolate! croissants.

The Torre del Greco surroundings are not that good, but if you'll go to Pompei and Erculano, you can take the Circumvesuviana train a go there. The hotel is just on the beach and the seaview is amazing. If you stay on this hotel, reserve the Capri room... with just additional 25 euros, you will get a incredible view of the Napoli gulf.

Excellent and very helpful staff. Location in this whole area south of Naples is very dangerous, however. Even the police told us to drive with the doors locked and the windows up. Directions to the hotel should be much more detailed to allow people to get safely there from the motorway - including every turn and every distance to the next turn.

This hotel is perfectly located on the coast between Napoli and Pompei, there is a private parking, plus a private beach just on the ocean front. The employees are friendly and were able to help fixing our day trips in Napoli, Pompei and at the vesuve. Our room was clean and we had a direct view on the gulf and Capri island. The rate was low compare to similar places on the Amalfitan coast. Stongly recommended.

The map for this hotel is wrong. After being told the wrong train station to get off at by the hollidays website my girlfriend and i walked for about an hour and a half as torre del greco has no taxis. We rang the hotel to see if they could give us some directions but unfortunatly i cant speak italian and the desk clerk couldnt speak english so that didnt work to well. We eventually managed to find the hotel and check into our room(capri room) which was good nice views onto the bay. BUT be aware the surrounding area is not nice and there are very few restraunts around we had to eat in the hotel. At night the young guys of torre del greco do laps of the front street beeping their horns untill all hours. This hotel would be fine if you have a car and can escape but we found that there are much nicer places than torre del greco and if you only want to see pompei than stay in or near sorrento, it only adds about 15 minutes to your day at pompei and there are plenty of other restraunts and things to do as well. We would not stay again.

Hotel Holidays was a really good place to stay. The area it's in is rather economically depressed, but the Hotel itself is nicely well kept, including it's gardens. They offer gated parking for security. The staff was helpful, courteous, & friendly. They helped us with our site seeing plans & directions (we had a rent car). They offered a lovely alternate drive to our next destination, which was a lovely drive. We'd be delighted to stay there again, should our travels bring us back that way.

Hotel extremely noisy. The first night, there was a school party staying at the hotel. If we only had to cope with the noise they made in the diningroom, this would have been ok. But they spent most of the night shouting in the corridors and no one seemed to be willing to do anything to put the noise down (neither their supervisors nor the hotel staff). Overall the area is also relatively noisy on w-e nights so I would not recommend any non-airconditioned room as leaving the window open at night is not an option (and closed with no airconditioning is not either!). Neightbouring hotels host wedding parties on Saturday night with all the loud music it entails (as they leave the windows opened). The hotel in itself is ok but does not deserve 3 stars, more like 2. Staff is very kind and helpful but hotel restaurant has very limited choice of food and rather expensive for what you get. Instead, I would recommend the little pizza place on the same road, about 1 block down direction Torre del Greco on the right hand side, looks and feels more like a caf' but delicious pizzas and real bargain prices (meal for 2 with wine for less than eur15). On the plus side, the hotel has a good secure carpark. I would definitely not stay there again.

Basic room. Good breakfast. Very friendly staff. Fantastc view over gulf of Naples and partial view on Vesuvio. Very conveniently located to visit all the sites around Naples. Only downside: there's not much to do in Torre del Greco in the evenings. Good & very cheap pizzeria and gelateria down the road though.

We really enjoyed our stay. Once we arrived we were upgraded to an air conditioned room at no extra charge and without requesting it. We arrived by car and the directions to the hotel should have mentioned the fact it is on the seafront as it would have made it easier to find. The one quibble I have is that the breakfast could have been more substantial. There was secure parking for our car and overall I found it an excellent base from which to visit Pompeii and Vesuvious. Very good value I would use it again.

The Holidays hotel was the best that we stayed in during our 11 day holiday in southern Italy. The only thing lacking was the breakfast was a bit skimpy (the Holidays was better than most, but still lacking), I guess this is common throughout Italy compared the the rest of the continent. The staff was most helpful in helping us arrange transportation, etc. Hightly recommend.

The reception people were very pleasant. The room and its outdoor view from the Capri room were less than expected from the ads.Bunk beds for the kids did not have protection rails and its matresses did not have enough cushioning. The major disappointment was at breakfast, because a big group of tourists arrived in the breakfast room and the servers could not manage to have good and hot coffee promptly available. Overall, a nice place to stay if some things that are overlooked can be taken care of.

This clean, pleasant hotel with astonishing marble work and fenced parking lot adjacent is good value for the money and in an excellent location to visit historical sites or climb Vesuvius. Our meal in the dining room was very poor, however, the following night we did eat at a place recommended by hotel staff which was very good. As noted in previous reviews, the surrounding area, although safe is almost breathtakingly dirty and rundown. The beach in front of the hotel is awash with garbage. Once you get used to it, the neighbourhood does seem safe and friendly.

The hotel itself was very good. However, if you don't have a car it is very badly located. There is nothing to do around the hotel and in order to go anywhere we had to get a taxi to the train station every day and then a train. We walked to the train 1 day - it is a 35 minute walk and the streets are full of litter so we would not recommend this. Also, the hotel beach was closed. Part of the reason we chose the hotel was to use the beach, so if there are certain times of year when it is closed it would be worth mentioning on the website. To get to another beach, we had to get a taxi, train and bus which took about 2 hours. Not very relaxing!

This was a nice, clean hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful (even keeping the dining room open a few minutes late for us so we could eat - dinner and breakfast were both good) and it is right across the street from the beaches and the sea. We had a couple of problems, however. Firstly, the town is really noisy and stays so until pretty late at night, especially on Sundays. Since there's no air conditioning, one has to keep the room open for air (and it was very hot while we were there) and therefore there's no barrier between the street noise and the room. This is much more true of the front of the hotel as this is the side which borders the main road. After the first night we requested to change rooms and moved to the back of the hotel. We lost our sea view, but could still see the volcano, and it was much, much quieter. (Cooler as well in the back). The second problem we dealt with transportation. As we did not have a car, we were reliant on public transportation to take us to and from the train station. Finding a bus to go from town to the station was never a problem, but each night that we returned, we were unable to find a bus to take us back into town, thus making a thirty minute brisk walk through a rather seedy, very dirty, and trash-strewn neighborhood. (There are no set bus schedules apparently). Aside from the beaches, there is nothing else really to do in this town, but if you have a car, it's a convenient place from which to explore Pompeii and the surrounding areas. Basically, this is a fine hotel located in a disappointing town.

Hotel Holidays is a nice hotel with fantastic views of Capri and the Bay of Naples with Vesuvius nearby. It is opposite a beach and is in a handy location for visiting Herculaneum etc. The staff were very helpful even though there was a problem with opening the safe to retrieve our passports and papers on the last day. The only difficulty is that the hotel is about 3km away from the station. There are buses every half hour or you can take a minibus but don't get conned into paying 5 euros instead of the one and a half it should have been. The other thing to note is that the surrounding area is a tatty but in no way dangerous.

We had a "Capri" type triple room (with balcony and air-conditioning. Room was spacious enough. Air conditioning was absolutely crucial as the weather was terribly hot & humid. If you come in summer you should absolutely reserve a "Capri" type room. The surrounding area is poor. Street noise level was no problem, as by using the A/C we could close the window for the night. The hotel is quite modern and very well located for touring the Naples Bay area. Pompei, Herculaneum & the Vesuvius are within 10-15 minutes drive by car. Sorento (boat to Capri) can be reached in less than 30-40 minutes by car (as well as by train). The driving instructions to reach the hotel from the Naples-Salerno highway, sent by the hotel, were very accurate. Breakfast was OK, but not more than that. Hotel has a spacious parking lot for its guests. Over all: It is quite a good place to stay for a few days to tour the Napoli Bay area and the Sorento-Amalfi coast line. Recommended.

We were a family-group of 5 persons and stayed in the hotel for one night. The price for 2 standard rooms were OK compared to other hotels. (The pricelevel in Italy seems to be a bit high) At the time it was very hot in Italy and we hadn´t AC in the rooms, so it became very hot while sleeping during the night. Otherwise it was a nice hotel and the parking lot was good as it was closed with gates. The breakfast was good and we also managed to bathe not too far from the hotel.

The hotel was located right on the beach as advertised. Our patio looked out on to the boardwalk and the sea. In an area where little English was spoken, the hotel staff was extremely helpful and efficient as they arranged for our multi-purpose cab ride to the dry cleaners and Vesuvius while negotiating a fair price for the trip. They also offered to have us picked up at the train station; an offer I would quickly accept given a second chance, as getting on the proper rail-line from Naples is a bit tricky. The directions we were given did not exactly put us at the hotel's doorstep! The street-noise was often a distraction but to book a room without an ocean view at this hotel would not have made sense. During our stay, two busloads of schoolchildren were also accomodated ( not an unusual situation apparently ) and I'd recommend avoiding the dining room ( if not the hotel itself ) during those times of the year as their noise level and unchecked behavior left a disappointing note to our stay. If the hotel was to improve on anything in particular, it might be a detailed description of how to get there by rail with the consideration that some visitors are in a foreign country and totally unfamiliar with their surroundings. We enjoyed our stay, in part, because the location was well-suited for our day-trips to the surrounding attractions such as Pompei and Vesuvius. Although the hotel seemed bright and fairly new, the immediate area was rather poor and run-down. I'm not convinced that our visit would have been as pleasant if we intended to make it a beach destination and stay put, rather than use it as a base for exploring the outlying areas.

We booked three hotels in Italy and found them all to be as described. In one Hotel- the Holidays Hotel in Torre del Greco we were pleasantly surprised to find that our room had been upgraded and was complete with sea view and mini bar at no extra charge. The b and b in Rome was somewhat unusual as we had to cook our own breakfast, but after the initial surprise we found this had advantages as we could choose what we wished including bacon and eggs. Very efficient way of booking hotels and the confirmations came through extremely quickly.

It was not made plain that the 'standard' room had no air conditioning, essential in this part of Italy. The price we paid for the room was about the same as other hotel rooms where air con was standard and we were not prepared to pay the premium require for the superior rooms which had other extras which we did not need.

We arrived at Hotel Holidays with a bit of apprehension, as we were not sure if the room arrangements would be Ok. Just before we left for Italy I found out that the room we booked did not have air conditioning and that the hotel is located in a not so great neighbourhood. To our delight we found that the owner Mr. Linno de Gennarro managed to provide us with a beautiful room with air conditioning and a balcony with a view to the sea. He also included free breakfast to account for the misunderstanding. All this for a small price difference we were delighted to pay. Yes the hotel is not in a particular great neighbourhood, but is superbly located overlooking the sea and with access (paid) to a private beach, which we enjoyed. Located in the heart of the Amalfi coast you can drive to all the trendy areas and return to a nice, clean well managed hotel for a good night sleep and an excellent breakfast, the best we had in all the hotels in Italy, the following morning. We should note that while the site indicate that hotel has air conditioning in fact only a limited number of rooms have air. It is always advisable to confirm that rooms have air. We were extrememly disappointed in the area of town. The room wasn't air conditioned and it was in the 90's in June. No upgrade available. Although the windows opened, we couldn't get a breeze without leaving the hall door opened also. No ocean view. Breakfast was marginal and served by the front desk clerk.
