Hotel Aurora - Bagni di Tivoli, Tivoli
Via A Manzoni 19 Tivoli Terme - Tivoli
877-662-6988The luxuriant and well-kept vegetation on the terraces and in the garden beautifully frames the hotel entrance leading to the lobby and 24-hour front desk. Very good on the whole, although difficult to find. Excellent facilities and small items such as range of toiletries. The roof garden didn't seem to exist, and only grumbles were that the air con was like a radiator under the window sill and was completely covered by curtains which were down to floor so either had to put up with light in morning or no air con effectively. Could do with a blind to pull down. Also, our fridge did not work, and although reported, was not fixed. Added bonus, local very good restaurant had 10% reduction for Aurora guests. Would certainly recommend.

A little hard to find without sat nav or detailed map. Manager was courteous and helpful to people who only spoke and read English. He told us about Villa D'Este nearby - it was a highlight of our trip. Well secured property in a fairly run down area. Trains and buses close and regular to city. There is a smell in the area that can be very offputting and comes into rooms when wind blows that way. Smells like sulphur (rotten egg gas).

We are very happy that we choosed a hotel outside and nearby the centre of Rome. The hotel Aurora is located in a quiet street, and it was perfect for us. The landmarks must be the Spa and the Palme Shopingcenter. 1 hour with public communication to a bussy Rome was no problem, though the bus could be overfilled with people.

A bt expensive for the service provided: quite away from the Villa Adriana and Villa d'Este. Do not be mistaken: the hotel is in Tivoli Terme aka Bagni di Tivoli so about 10 km from Tivoli in a back street off the busy Via Tiburtina. One has to go to Tivoli to find restaurants as there's nothing in Tivol Terme. On top of that the breakfast buffet, which is served in the dull and dreary basement, is quite disappoining regarding the price paid: not much to choose from and the dishes are not refilled when empty (get up early!) On the whole a disappointing address. Should drop 30 euros off the price to make the stay worth the money.

Newly renovated hotel, clean and quiet. Very misleading pictures on the website for area. No character to hotel, and not conveniently located to any sites.

This hotel was advertised as being in Tivoli, but it was not. It's about 10km away in Bagni di Tivoli, down a side street. The area was strange and during the night had a terrible odor that permeated through the ventilation system. We thought that we were in the middle of a sewage dump! Although the inside of the room was clean, this was not a hotel that we would revisit.

We selected this hotel because we wanted to be near the archeological site at Villa Adriana. The hotel itself was pleasant enough, and the breakfast minimally acceptable, but the main problem was its location in a residential area of Bagni di Tivoli, an industrial town. The immediate area is not conducive to walking around and there are no convenient restaurants. Also, Bagni di Tivoli has active medicinal baths, and unless you're there to "take the waters," you won't enjoy the sulphurous smell.

Good, clean and modern facility in a quiet residential area. Room was standard size for this type of hotel. Staff at reception was very helpful and made no fuss when we asked to move to a higher floor. As a foreign tourist it was interesting to look out window and observe ordinary Italian life. It was easy to find hotel from the Autostrade and to drive to the sites in Tivoli. Walking to restaurants in town took about 10 minutes. I would stay here again.

Lovely hotel. The family owners are continually upgrading it. I would highly recommend it for a Tivoli stay. Only caveat is that it was a bit hard to find.

The hotel was modern and acceptable, although a way from the main road. The view from our room was overlooking the back of a house, and a couple of times we had the smell of drains

The Aurora was certainly a satisfactory hotel. There was nothing special about it, but it was clean and adequate. We did not realize that there is a BIG difference between Tivoli and Banyo de Tivoli. Tivoli is old and charming. Banyo de Tivoli is industrial and commercial. Had we realized this, we would have opted to stay "on the hill" in Tivoli.

We had a triple room for one night(we had a child with us). Room was big enough and was well equipped. Breakfast served was good. The hotel is modern and very well located for trips in the area (Tivoli & Villa Adriana) and even for a quick jump to Rome. Room price was a bit higher than the average we paid for similar lodging in other places in Italy. There is plenty of parking space. The hotel management was kind enough to let us keep the room till early afternoon on the next day, so we could travel without having the car loaded with our luggage (which might be a problem in Italy). Over all I would rate our stay there as very good.

Enjoyed the friendly and helpful staff. The hotel was fine and was a good value. The only issue was the location. No restraunts within waling distance and the area is a little ran down.

This is a nice Hotel but it has one major flaw for people w/o a car. There are no Taxi's in Bagni Di Tivoli, and there is no telephone at the train station either. Although the Hotel offered us a ride in their car for an additional fee. If you travel by Train (as we did) this Hotel is too far off. If you travel by car this Hotel is highly recomandable (as of may 2003). The personel was very nice and helpfull, the rooms clean and the AC working.

beautiful rooms, kind employees, exellent breakfast(very rare in Italy), surroundings not so hot(situated amongst family houses) but not bad at all. Very private, quiet hotel, great hideaway close to Rome. I highely recomend this place.

In description of the hotel, there is a sign of a restaurant, but there is not. It's only a place for seminary and I think it would be nice to informe customers that they can't eat except for breakfast. We were at this hôtel with two children and after visiting all the day, it was a drawback not to profite of a restaurant.
