It was great to discover that there was free wifi and that it worked so well. The only disappointment was when I went down to get something to eat at 1030 at night, but the kitchen had closed, even though room service was supposed to continue until 11. But they directed me to a nearby sandwich shop.

The Metropolitan Hotel is in a very good location in relationship to the sights, restaruants, water, shops and grocery stores. It is a good walk to most all the sights and the buses are everywhere. Our family especially enjoyed walking along the city coastline in the evenings. The streets in Thessaloniki and not easily seen and made it difficult finding the hotel, as we were driving. A taxi from the airport is a good idea. The management was able fit our room with an extra bed to accomodate our family, which we appreciated. The breakfast had variety and kept us full until lunch. This hotel was a good choice for us.
