Hotel Vila Galé Tavira - Tavira

Excellent modern hotel in good location. Great value for money. Only complaint cheap pillows i.e. chip foam but otherwise all good.

Clean , modern hotel, well positioned for access to town centre. Majority of guests seemed to have travelled with Saga. Accordingly evening entertainment seemed to fit in with their requirenments. First time I have booked via Venere.com, however, everything went smoothly with very competitive price.

Hotel Vila Gale is in an excellent location in Tavira, Portugal, within walking distance to the town and restaurants. It was difficult to find initially by car. The hotel was filled with people on Saga and golfing holidays in February and they filled up the bar and public spaces, especially in the evenings. The buffet breakfast was excellent, with a wide variety. We didn't eat other meals in the hotel. The hotel has a spa and I had a very pleasant massage.

I stayed in the Hotel Vila Gale Tavira with my wife and 3 children (ages 10, 9 and 5). We all enjoyed our stay and the staff could not have been more friendly and helpful to the children and ourselves. The swimming pool is the greatest attraction of this hotel and they provide wonderful games for all guests during the summer in connection with the pool. We truly enjoyed our stay in Tavira with Vila Gale.

The hotel is a modern resort type hotel. It was clean, the room spacious, a small balcony looking towards the ocean and the breakfast, which was included, was of good variety and quality. The staff were probably the best we have ever encountered. They were warm, friendly and able to provide lots of local information. A fabulous place to stay.

There were 2 of us staying in the Hotel Vila Gale Tavira for one week and we really enjoyed the experience. The staff were very friendly and we most helpful to answer any questions. The hotel itself is very nice, quite big and has very good buffet food. The room were stayed in (twin with pool view) was very nice, the only thing (which can't be helped) it that we only got the sun on the balcony in the morning and not in the evening when we would have prefered it (but we were out most of the time, so it wasn't that much of a problem). I can highly regard this hotel to everyone.

The breakfast was wonderful, much more than expected. For the price we paid in March, it was a steal.

Un ottimo albergo sia per la struttura sia per i servizi offerti. Si trova in una posizione perfetta infatti è a due passi dalla piazza centrale della città e vicinissima alla strada per il mare!!!!!

A comfortable, large hotel. very good price and a convenient location near town. Tavira was lovely. The only downside was the noise from neighbouring rooms.

We weren't particularly pleased with this hotel. Far too big for us. Unfriendly staff. Noisy pool area. We won't be returning or recommending this hotel.

We would recommend the Vila Gale hotel highly, for comfort, facilities within the hotel, and for its situation close to the charming town centre, and the riverside, with ferries to the beach. Most of the reception staff were very friendly and helpful - some really went out of their way to help. Breakfasts cater for all tastes and are copious. Our only unfortunate experience was not the hotel's fault - we booked an early morning minibus shuttle to the airport - which didn't turn up. Reception staff rang for a taxi for us, which got us to the airport in time. I'd use taxis rather than shuttles in future.

Hard to find-very few signs in town (which is typical through out Portugal). Large modern hotel close to old area, which had few hotels. Great buffet breakfast. Parking under hotel, which in the old town is needed, if you have a car.

This is a clean, tidy well-run hotel appreciated by the golfing crowd. It is not particularly inspiring, neither the building itself or its position in town, but it has spacious comfortable rooms, and public areas are no less generous. Generosity is also the key-note of the breakfast buffet. I approve the clean indoor pool and sauna but there is a small surcharge.

Disappointed by the the spa which is actually a small inside pool and sauna...too expensive for..nothing!

The location of the hotel is excellent in reference to proximity to Tavira centre, however for us the hotel was too big and too noisy. Sunbeds around the pool were literally right next to each other with no space to move them to have a little more privacy. Breakfast was excellent and service also considering the numbers that were being catered for. Reception staff were not very friendly and did not willingly volunteer information on the area unless asked very specific questions.

Very enjoyable. Good hotel. Everyone pleasant and helpful. Is ideally situated for getting around Tavira. I think the hotel is suited more for adults - couples or groups on holiday or business men passing through

This was my first visit to Tavira. This hotel, close to the centre of the town, has excellent facilities, large rooms and a great choice of breakfast foods.

IT IS A VERY NICE HOTEL IF YOU WANT TO SPEND SOME QUIET DAYS IN TAVIRA. VERY CLOSE TO THE CENTER (YOU DON'T NEED A CAR). VERY NICE SAUNA AND SWIMMING POOL.

We stayed at Vila Galé Tavira the first week of August. We booked the hotel only 1 week ahead, and surprisingly there were several rooms available. The hotel is very centrally situated, nice service, but do not expect any entertainment etc. The pool area was boring and hot. Tavira is a very nice, but small and quiet town. There were not many tourists. The beach is reached by boat taxi - the hotel has it's own boat which was satisfactory, but you have to pay 1,80 Euros pr day. I strongly recommend renting a car for a couple of days, and drive along the Algarve coast to Lagos and surrounding areas - there you will find beautiful beaches.

Check-in/check-out times were long. More personnel needed in reception. Nobody available in Health Club in several occasions.

We had a ground floor room with window locks that did not work well and felt this was a security issue

We have stayed at this hotel several times and continue to be very impressed with the quality of service and especially its location in beautiful Tavira. We will definitely return again as soon as we can.

As I stay in lots of hotels in Europe as part of my job, I would have to say that for the price that I was quoted and a lot of hotels rate themselves as 4* hotels, I was not expecting anything special. I have to say that along with the area of Tavira this hotel was extremely good fo both value for money and for the overall standard of room and service. The rooms were exactly as seen on the web and were very spacious,clean, bright and having air condition as standard was a bit of a surprise. I could not or would not fault the hotel in any way. For the price that we paid per night I would reccommend for anyone to go and stay. It is certainly value for money.

We stayed for a week and had an evening flight home, the hotel was less than half full and I asked at reception for a late check out, I was told to ask again on our last morning and this I did; They then said that as they had our room booked for that night this was not possible, yet they had dozens of empty rooms and ours was only a standard, they seemed unwilling rather than unable to help us. Customer Care!!! Also the hotel doesn't provide poolside towels.
