VIEW. Wonderfull. Location perfect. Rooms clean, room service everyday - but sheets were not changed everyday. A bit nasty bathrooms - needs some renovation. WELCOME seemed unfriendly, no good English language - but that was the first impression. Staff was helpful - especially we liked the barman on the fifth floor. Air conditioning is working - but tricky to find the switch. Italian breakfast is good. Ask for cappuccino or espresso - American coffee not so nice. Straight way to center on the first floor - foot saver. For the stay price - there is a space for improvement. And yes - if you go to bed at 10:00 PM - don't choose this hotel - music from restaurant untill 11 PM at least - longer on weekends. For me, I liked this.

Unfortunately we could not enjoy our visit as we liked. The city of Taormina is great and very awesome, but the hotel offered many problems for us. First of all: I habe booked a parking place for our car and confirmed to pay 10 € per day - but as we arrived the concierge said “we don´t habe a parking place”. In the next morning a lady from the hotel told us, that there is a parking place, but that the two places have been full. Second: Our room was not good – just one little door to the terrace and everyone could come in our room, because there was no wall. In the morning a lady stood in front of our terrace entrance and wanted to go in - and I have been naked after the shower. No protection against thieves, if you don´t want to sleep with closed terracedoor (there was no window). Third: The Air Condition did not work. It was very hot in Taormina at our visit, the room had more than 30 ° C. As I have asked the concierge to start the ac he told me “no one want´s it, only you”. He promised to switch it on, it should only take 2 or 3 minutes and then it should work. Unfortunately it did not happen and I spent the hottest night in the year. In the morning the lady of the hotel told us, that the AC does not work in September. In the morning we could see, that the fuse was “off”. Positive: The hotel is in the middle of the city, has a loveley view over taormina and the etna. The breakfast has been good for italian standard, and you could eat on the terrace with a view at the etna, great.

Hard to find. Harder to leave! Once there, no one could tell you how to take the buss back to the train station. Staff was cold and unfriendly --- for Italians!

Very ok the position near the center of Taormina. It was the first time we stayed in Vello d'Oro e we'll return if it will be cleaner and with less noises in the room

It was difficult to communicate with the staff, almost nobody spoke English (but they understood it more or less). Don't try to find a place for the car nearby. Impossible. Cars must be left at the carpark of Portacatania. Expensive, but the hotel gives a ticket for 40% discount. The hotel has excellent views!!! but in the bathroom everything is very simple, no glass for drinking and old facilities, but very clean. Poor breakfast, no fruit. You can order a cappuccino instead of having to swallow a terrible canned coffee.
