Fantastic find 5 minute walk from the main street, Roberto and his family gave us a warm welcome, always had time for a chat. Room was as described with balcony overlooking the pool area with sea view. We didn't have great weather but would definitely return here as would be a sun trap in good weather with great pool to cool off in. Would often finish the night with a drink in the hotel bar or terrace, much cheaper than in town!Room very clean. Very quiet location.

comfortable facilities in a quiet location close to town centre. Lovely helpful staff. Drinks less than half the price of bars on the main drag !! Top end three star hotel at two star prices.

This is a nice, comfortable hotel. the rooms are adequate and clean. The hotel is located about a 5 minute walk from the main shopping promenade. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was traditional and very good. I would stay there again.

Good location, friendly helpful staff. Bathroom was too small and flooded every time you showered. Sound proofing not good could hear shower and toilet flush in adjoining room very loudly.

Great size room! What a view!!!!! Amazing! Staff are lovely! breakfast is nice. Clean room, but shower isn't enclosed enough, therefore water spills out everywhere. Overall good value property.

This hotel is a friendly, family owned and run business. Roberto greeted us on arrival and was always available to meet our requests. The hotel is situated in a quieter end of Taormina but within 5 minutes walk of the town. We found it to be very suitable for up to a week of our holiday. The pool is refreshingly cool and most welcome after a hot morning of sight seeing. We akso found the 'chat' around the pool saw guests sharing travel tips for the region. We recommend it and would go back.

The location is great if you want to get away from the centre of Taormina. Only major problem was the very thin walls - if you get a noisy couple coming in at 1am next door, and the local children arguing across the street at 6am, you don't get much sleep. Hotel staff excellent, however, breakfast good (for Italy), and would recommend Soleado as one of the best mid-range hotels in Taormina.

Cannot really fault the hotel or staff. It was exactly as advertised and very good value - the breakfast however needs to be improved! Same poor continental every morning with no variety!

Friendy small hotel just the right distance away from the centre. No lift, so you have to carry your bags on the stairs. Would go back.

very recommendable. management is x-friendly and cooperative. the beach service (shuttle and entrance to a beautiful beach in letoyani) is great and affordable, so use it. hotel is very close to center, some 5-7 minutes. taormina is fairly expensive (though beautiful), but soleado is good value for money. even my pregnant wife was quite happy. drink and food in hotel at very reasonable prices (but it would be nice to have refrigerators in rooms). arrived at 02:00, mr. roberto (owner i guess) was there to help, parking was provided as requested (otherwise it is a nightmare). always late for a breakfast, we were given a room-package with a smile from the staff. to sum up, very nice place.

Met all our expectations and was in excellant location. Pool was a plus as was the balcony as we enjoyed several glasses of wine watching the sun go down then a short walk to all the restaurants. Communication was superb and most helpful.

Roberto and the other staff are very friendly and welcoming. The hotel is 5 minutes away from Taormina Centre by walk. The rooms were always kept tidy and icluded a/c, tv & phone. We were always served with a nice breakfast and prices for drinks from the hotel were actually cheaper than those from other shops. The space of the shower was very small and you could hear other guets walking in corridors from your room. The parking costs 8 euro a day but it is very convenient, since parking is a problem in Taormina. In all, we really enjoyed our stay at Soleado and we recommend it, since you get more than expected from a star hotel.

Stayed at the Soleado in July 08 for 1 week & really enjoyed it.Room size ok but would be nice if there were tea/coffee making facilities in them & a better choice of tv channel wouldn't go amiss, only english speaking channel was euronews! The swimming pool was small but most welcome in the very hot climate.Roberto & his family are great hosts, very friendly and helpful. The only downfall was the breakfast, although continental, you were given the same thing every morning.(quality of coffee was poor too).Overall The Soleado is a very pleasant & relaxing place to stay I would recommend it to anybody and will hopefully return there myself. Taormina is a lovely town much nicer than Catania!

A wonderful town and a hotel with everything we could ask for. Roberto and his team were very helpful and we would certainly not hesitate booking the Soleado in any future visits to Taormina.

We read the reviews about this hotel, so there were no surprises. It is a pleasant hotel, well organized and Roberto gives you a good welcome and knows what information you require. The room space is limited and the shower even more, although we had a room with "more" space. We found the breakfast more than sufficient and the service efficient. The hotel is well located, along a street with no busy traffic and a short walk to the centre of Taormina. When you are a light sleeper you need ear plugs, but this is valid for many hotels on Sicily. We did the excursion "Etna with sunset" which we strongly recommend and we spent a day on the beach, Roberto can organize it for you with transport. The last day i had problems with my bowels and Roberto took care of a doctor and the medicine. Advice from the doctor:"do not drink water from the water tap, only drink mineral water". We found this hotel good value for money, very convenient located and Roberto takes good care of you.

An very nice family run 2 star hotel. Good quiet location only 5-10 mins from historic centre and cable car to Mazzaro beach. Friendly staff always somone around reception. Roberto helped us with train/ bus times and excursions. Room very clean on arrival and cleaned daily with balcony looking down towards sea. Breakfast nice in a room with a view. Overall a very nice little hotel.

Signore Stracuzzi (Hotel Soleado manager?owner?) was extremely kind and helpful, as my purse was snatched in Taormina before we got to the hotel. He came to the police station and interpreted for us. Without his help, we would have been very upset. The hotel was a good value for the price.

Hotel was located in close proximity to restaurants and shopping, while being at the end of the road which kept the exterior noise at a minimum. There were a lot of steps within the hotel, but the staff were pleasant and our stay was enjoyable.

Hotel was clean and it was a very friendly family run establishment.Excellent value for money. Spacious bedrooms ( we had a deluxe room ) with a massive balcony. Great location for Toaromina down hill stroll to main area was approx 5 mins ( 10 mins back uphill ) - Drinks at hotel were very reasonable. Would definately go back.

The hotel was nice. The room was adequate. The exception was the cleanliness.
United Kingdom, Sep 2007
Lovely family run hotel. Friendly people, and good service. They have an arrangement with a beach that belongs to a hotel, whereby you can pay E6.00 for transport to the beach and a sunlounger for the day. The hotel swimming pool is also clean and pleasant. Within easy walking distance of the shops and restaurants in central Taormina, we actually prefered being slightly out of the way in a quieter location. Some of the rooms have great ocean views from the private terraces. Breakfast was poor, but fairly typical Italian fare. I would recommend this hotel.

A perfect location very close to the cathedral square and near excellent places to eat. The recent renovations could have been more tasteful. It's a pity the reception staff couldn't provide more precise information about the small train that skirts Mount Etna.

great accom.... a reasonable walk fr town, if you're arriving by bus and have luggage take a taxi.. the walk to hotel is ok but there are hills, taormina is beautiful, use the shuttle service the hotel advise for a day at the beach...good value.

Fantastic hotel, excellent service, very friendly staff. The website doesn't mention the bus service they offer for day trips to the beach, which picks you up from the hotel and brings you back again. Very good facility as the beach is quite a hike!

The room was very small. The 2 beds have been camp beds. There was no similarity between your photo and reality. After taking showers the bathroom was flooded. Water-tapes are very old and could not shut off completely. The balcony was nice. Breakfast was ok.

Minor criticisms by others about noise (thin walls, dogs barking)are true but totally overwhelmed by the warmth of the welcome. Rooms are clean and spacious and nothing is too much trouble in this family run hotel. The landlord even knows what English tea should be. Be aware that there are only 2 parking spaces and that alternatives are a long walk away so book. The hotel is a couple of hundred yards further up the hill than the map indicates but still within 5 minutes of the main attrations of Taormina. Fabulous holiday for 3 days at Easter. Just go!!

Lovely hotel and very welcoming and helpful owner (Roberto) and family. About 5 minutes outside the city walls which means it's quiet and only a short stroll away from all the sights. We got a lovely sea view too. Good value for Taormina which is an expensive town.

The owner was very nice, English spoken, very helpful. The breakfast was not very huge, but good, with American coffee if you like. We had a very enjoyable stay at the Soleado. The owner was very friendly and helpful. The hotel is in a fairly quite location (apart from a few barking dogs at night) and short walking distance to Taormina town centre. I would cetainly stay at this hotel again and recommend it to others.

The hotel is ideally sited to walk into Taormina to visit the main sites. The room was large, quiet and clean and with a balcony. The bathroom was also clean although a little small, but not a problem. The staff were friendly and welcoming and very helpful and could speak good English. There are only two parking spaces (so book early) and these cost €6 a day. Breakfast was smaller than in some hotels (a croissant, a roll, a cup of coffee and a glass of juice). I would recommend this hotel and will use it again when I return to Taormina.

The Soleado Bed & Breakfast Hotel in Taorminia, Sicily offered only basic services with a Continental breakfast (extra charge for juice). The property is well maintained and the Proprietor (Roberto) speaks limited English and he is both friendly and helpful. The room charges are relatively high for the few services offered because it is a very popular resort area in Sicily. Check-out time is 11:00am.

Great hotel for the location and price with a very friendly, helpful and english speaking owner. The room was large and clean with one of the largest balconies I have ever seen. A nice swimming pool and only a couple of minutes walk to centre of Taormina. Located on a quiet dead end street. There was some nosie from barking dogs in the night but that was because it was cool enough to sleep with the balcony doors open rather than use the air conditioning. Overall was excellent I would definately stay there again if I'm back in Toarmina.
