Hotel Soleado was really good value for money. I had paid for a single room, but got a double. All rooms had their own private balcony and en suite and were spotlessly clean. Bed was comfy and breakfast was tasty. Hotel was a in quiet location, 5 min walk up from the old town. I really cant fault this hotel at all. Roberto the owner was a gentleman and I would definitely stay in this hotel again. I had looked at a lot of hotels before I booked this one, and I really dont know where you would find better value and hospitality.

The staff is very friendly and the property is very clean and comfortable. Reaching the property can be somewhat difficult due to how Taormina is laid out, but the city has signs posted at each corner that indicate what hotels are on that road. The hotel itself is about a 5 minute walk from the city center where there are countless shops and restaurants to choose from. Parking was very convienent, the staff will park the car for you and pick it up whenever you need.

We stayed at The Soleado just for 2 nights. Taormina is an expensive place, so for the price we payed it was OK. It´s a family owned hotel. Many staircases in order to get to the room as in all Taormina I guess. Very old fashioned room and bathroom as well. Four or five blocks away from downtown, but we felt safe and wouldn´t mind the walk back on the 2 nights of our stay. Owners very helpful and provided good advise as well.

Our stay at the Soleado hotel was made wonderful with the help of Roberto and his wife. Will recommend the hotel to anyone and this is a proof that you don't need a five star hotel stay to make an enjoyable holiday. Beautiful people with a great dedication to their work and will go out of their way to help. I will definately choose Soleado hotel for my next time stay in Taormina.

Wonderful family run hotel.Everyone friendly and helpful. Not five star but far better than the two star advertised. Amazingly good value for money. Beautiful flowers everywhere. A short walk from the centre along a quiet well-lit road.

Hotel Soleado was well signed and very well located in Taormina - at the end of a quiet street but close to everything. Roberto was extremely helpful and friendly and I think we got one of the nicest rooms in the hotel with an enormous balcony overlooking the pool area and looking out towards the ocean. If you're looking for a quiet, comfortable, affordable hotel in Taormina, this may be one of your best bets. Don't trust your car GPS on finding this one though; we ended up on a goat track in the next town to the south!! Follow the recommended route on Venere.com!

Fantastic find 5 minute walk from the main street, Roberto and his family gave us a warm welcome, always had time for a chat. Room was as described with balcony overlooking the pool area with sea view. We didn't have great weather but would definitely return here as would be a sun trap in good weather with great pool to cool off in. Would often finish the night with a drink in the hotel bar or terrace, much cheaper than in town!Room very clean. Very quiet location.

This hotel is a friendly, family owned and run business. Roberto greeted us on arrival and was always available to meet our requests. The hotel is situated in a quieter end of Taormina but within 5 minutes walk of the town. We found it to be very suitable for up to a week of our holiday. The pool is refreshingly cool and most welcome after a hot morning of sight seeing. We akso found the 'chat' around the pool saw guests sharing travel tips for the region. We recommend it and would go back.

The location is great if you want to get away from the centre of Taormina. Only major problem was the very thin walls - if you get a noisy couple coming in at 1am next door, and the local children arguing across the street at 6am, you don't get much sleep. Hotel staff excellent, however, breakfast good (for Italy), and would recommend Soleado as one of the best mid-range hotels in Taormina.

Very recommendable. management is x-friendly and cooperative. the beach service (shuttle and entrance to a beautiful beach in letoyani) is great and affordable, so use it. hotel is very close to center, some 5-7 minutes. taormina is fairly expensive (though beautiful), but soleado is good value for money. even my pregnant wife was quite happy. drink and food in hotel at very reasonable prices (but it would be nice to have refrigerators in rooms). arrived at 02:00, mr. roberto (owner i guess) was there to help, parking was provided as requested (otherwise it is a nightmare). always late for a breakfast, we were given a room-package with a smile from the staff. to sum up, very nice place.

Roberto and the other staff are very friendly and welcoming. The hotel is 5 minutes away from Taormina Centre by walk. The rooms were always kept tidy and icluded a/c, tv & phone. We were always served with a nice breakfast and prices for drinks from the hotel were actually cheaper than those from other shops. The space of the shower was very small and you could hear other guets walking in corridors from your room. The parking costs 8 euro a day but it is very convenient, since parking is a problem in Taormina. In all, we really enjoyed our stay at Soleado and we recommend it, since you get more than expected from a star hotel.

Stayed at the Soleado in July 08 for 1 week & really enjoyed it.Room size ok but would be nice if there were tea/coffee making facilities in them & a better choice of tv channel wouldn't go amiss, only english speaking channel was euronews! The swimming pool was small but most welcome in the very hot climate.Roberto & his family are great hosts, very friendly and helpful. The only downfall was the breakfast, although continental, you were given the same thing every morning.(quality of coffee was poor too).Overall The Soleado is a very pleasant & relaxing place to stay I would recommend it to anybody and will hopefully return there myself. Taormina is a lovely town much nicer than Catania!

We read the reviews about this hotel, so there were no surprises. It is a pleasant hotel, well organized and Roberto gives you a good welcome and knows what information you require. The room space is limited and the shower even more, although we had a room with "more" space. We found the breakfast more than sufficient and the service efficient. The hotel is well located, along a street with no busy traffic and a short walk to the centre of Taormina. When you are a light sleeper you need ear plugs, but this is valid for many hotels on Sicily. We did the excursion "Etna with sunset" which we strongly recommend and we spent a day on the beach, Roberto can organize it for you with transport. The last day i had problems with my bowels and Roberto took care of a doctor and the medicine. Advice from the doctor:"do not drink water from the water tap, only drink mineral water". We found this hotel good value for money, very convenient located and Roberto takes good care of you.

Signore Stracuzzi (Hotel Soleado manager?owner?) was extremely kind and helpful, as my purse was snatched in Taormina before we got to the hotel. He came to the police station and interpreted for us. Without his help, we would have been very upset. The hotel was a good value for the price.

Lovely family run hotel. Friendly people, and good service. They have an arrangement with a beach that belongs to a hotel, whereby you can pay E6.00 for transport to the beach and a sunlounger for the day. The hotel swimming pool is also clean and pleasant. Within easy walking distance of the shops and restaurants in central Taormina, we actually prefered being slightly out of the way in a quieter location. Some of the rooms have great ocean views from the private terraces. Breakfast was poor, but fairly typical Italian fare. I would recommend this hotel.

Minor criticisms by others about noise (thin walls, dogs barking)are true but totally overwhelmed by the warmth of the welcome. Rooms are clean and spacious and nothing is too much trouble in this family run hotel. The landlord even knows what English tea should be. Be aware that there are only 2 parking spaces and that alternatives are a long walk away so book. The hotel is a couple of hundred yards further up the hill than the map indicates but still within 5 minutes of the main attrations of Taormina. Fabulous holiday for 3 days at Easter. Just go!!

The hotel is ideally sited to walk into Taormina to visit the main sites. The room was large, quiet and clean and with a balcony. The bathroom was also clean although a little small, but not a problem. The staff were friendly and welcoming and very helpful and could speak good English. There are only two parking spaces (so book early) and these cost €6 a day. Breakfast was smaller than in some hotels (a croissant, a roll, a cup of coffee and a glass of juice). I would recommend this hotel and will use it again when I return to Taormina.

The Soleado Bed & Breakfast Hotel in Taorminia, Sicily offered only basic services with a Continental breakfast (extra charge for juice). The property is well maintained and the Proprietor (Roberto) speaks limited English and he is both friendly and helpful. The room charges are relatively high for the few services offered because it is a very popular resort area in Sicily. Check-out time is 11:00am.

Great hotel for the location and price with a very friendly, helpful and english speaking owner. The room was large and clean with one of the largest balconies I have ever seen. A nice swimming pool and only a couple of minutes walk to centre of Taormina. Located on a quiet dead end street. There was some nosie from barking dogs in the night but that was because it was cool enough to sleep with the balcony doors open rather than use the air conditioning. Overall was excellent I would definately stay there again if I'm back in Toarmina.
