Hotel Lido Méditerranée - Mazzarò, Taormina

A charming hotel as they must have been a long time ago... A wonderful asleep with the open to the see.

This property is located in a beautiful spot, right on the beach. BUT the web site of the hotel advertises as being 900 meters from the cable car to Taormina. What they don't see is, to get there you need to walk on a narrow, winding road with no sidewalks where cars are parked and people drive dangerously. I said a little prayer every time I walked to the cable car. Most importantly, the shower is a small stall with a very shallow arrow where the water falls. As a result, the water would dot drain fast enough so that I couldn't let the water run for more than about 4 minutes at time or the water would overflow onto the floor. This happened twice and I found myself on hands and knees cleaning up the mess!

What can I say. When I entered the room, I was struck by how big the room was. Then, behind the curtain, was our little indoor balcony, with French doors overlooking the water. The staff were VERY helpful and courteous. The lifeguard rushed to get tomato for my husband after he had been stung by a jellyfish, and the staff made my parents (first time travelers) feel at ease. The breakfast, can I just say, is THE best included breakfast I have had in my time travelling - and I have traveled a lot. The selection of foods, the coffee, but most of all, the setting. What a better way to take your breakfast than sitting right next to the water. The location was amazing! If you are after a beach getaway, this is definitely the place.

This hotel is located directly on a very beautiful beach in the Taormina area. Our room was clean, quiet and spacious. The hotel staff was courteous, friendly and helpful. Breakfast which was included was quite good and certainly adequate. The walk to the cable car to the city of Taormina was along a narrow highway where cars consistently would speed. It is not safe to walk the 900 meters, especially at night due to the traffic situation. I have a bit of difficulty walking so the distance to the cable car was also a bit of a problem. Taxi are easily available for 10 Euros and I would recommend using them for safety reasons. We will most definetly return to this hotel the next time we are in the area.

Excellent location, just in front of the sea. Sunbed and towels provided, large and good breakfast (fresh fruit sometimes not so fresh). Spacious rooms but old style furnitures. Rooms with gulf sight simply amazing.

This is a fantastic hotel. The manager and staff make serious effort to provide guests with the best possible environment. The restaurant is excellent. The location is very convenient to get to Taormina. Our room had a full view of the sea (All rooms do.) I recommend the hotel to everyone.

Staff were amazing! Other than that hotel was old, furniture was old there were two branches of the hotel, the one in sea side did not have a pool. We had to go to the other one.

Or room was huge and overlooking the sea. We slept with the windows opened listening to the waves. The minifridge was well-stocked. They also offer a huge breakfast buffet with bacon and eggs!! The staff was very helpful and friendly.

This hotel was fantastic, and the staff looked after us exceptionally well. The room was great - it had a big balcony with french doors and overlooked the ocean. The location was great - just a 1km walk to the cable car to take you up to the town of Taormina. Big thanks to the reception staff, restaurant staff, and the lifeguard for being so accommodating of our requests and for their friendly tips on the local area. We were there in a fairly quiet time, but I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to soak up some sun and swim in some beautiful clear water.

Room was a good size. Shower wasn't great. Air conditioning system linked and left watermarks on clothes which hotel did not do anything about. Beach area and breakfast nice.

Nice place on the beach ; shade on the beach past 5 30 pm ; rooms clean and refreshed ; plumbing worked well ,but out of date ,especially for the shower ;very nice terrasse under beautiful trees

The location of the hotel is fantastic. They are not that many beaches near Taormina so having a private one was excellent. The 4-star rating of the hotel is much more related to the location than the hotel itself, which is more what I would expect from a 3-star hotel. The hotel restaurant is extremely overpriced! It is good food but nothing extraordinary: a mixed salad for lunch will set you back €22 and fruit (i.e. 2 peaches or a bit of watermelon) cost €15!

What a great place! Beautiful area, absolutely friendly and helpful staff!We were on Honeymoon and they surpised us with a bottle of Champange! I definitely recommend this hotel to everyone!
