Hotel was clean and met our needs. Breakfast was on the terrace with amazing views of the sea and mountains. Hotel is on a hill but short walk into town. I would recommend Taormina to everyone as its just beautiful. The hotel was away from the noise but close enough to walk. Loved it.

Excellent customer service. Staff were very helpful at all times. They provided information on everything - buses, tours, Greek theatre programme, transport options to the beaches etc -as good as any tourist information. Breakfast was good. Nice breakfast staff. Excellent communication with hotel before arrival with all our emails promptly answered. Super efficient. The price is normal for this resort - more than we usually pay for a holiday as we are budget travellers, but if you want to have a holiday in this resort you have to pay the higher prices. In comparison to the prices of other hotels in this resort we found this hotel to be one of the most reasonable. Basically if you want to holiday in Taormina you have to pay for it. Eating out was more or less the same as in the UK. Drinks pricey, deckchairs and umbrella on the beaches extortionate. Taormina is not a budget resort but it was well worth it. One of our best holidays.

We really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Condor. The public areas and continental breakfast were great. The only problem we had was with the WiFi. We had to sign in each time we used it, whereas; in most places once we signed in it wasn't necessary to retype the username and password. Small inconvenience.

The Hotel is old but clean. The staff is very helpful. Parking is non-existent in the area, except for their car-park which is a couple of hundred meters away and gated. Bathrooms need slight upgrade. Bed sheets are crisp and white, and beds are very comfortable! Continental breakfast is plentiful.

The Condor was a very nice place to stay, a short walk to the main part of Taormina. The lady at the desk was very friendly and helpful, the room was nice, and breakfast was varied and extremely good. Its worth it to have the sea-view balcony. Recommend Tiramisu, a close restaurant on left just before the first archway as you walk through to town. Also strongly recommend Ristorante Anfora off Corso Umberto Salita Denti 5 and up the steps--really good fish and other local specialties. Expect a leisurely dinner or lunch there, because the kitchen is small--but good.

I have the room with sea view. It's located a bit outside of city center but just 5 min walk. Staff were very nice and helpful. Breakfast (which was quite generous comparing to other hotels of similar price) with the sea view was the best experience. Overall good value for the money.

We thought the room was beautiful and light and we enjoyed the view very much. We only stayed in Taormina for 2 days and we loved it. The room was very quiet too and we were able to sleep with the balcony doors open at night which we couldn't do in our other hotels in Itlay due to noise. The hotel staff also were very kind in helping us work out how to get north to sorrento, and were very thorough in explanation of this, which we appreciated.

Fantastic terrace good service friendly helpful staff. good choice of breakfast. Go for a room with a sea view it is worth the extra 10 or so euros. Only downside but not a problem the water was not quite hot enough. If you go by bus and travel hand luggage walk to the hotel it is literally 800m up the hill will take you 10 mins to walk it we got a taxi and charged us 10 euros!. Well worth the visit if you are going to Taormina beautiful place

Hotel Condor is pretty well located, less than 10 minutes by foot from the main street. Teatro Greco is less than 20 minutes away. Rooms are clean, relatively small, bed is comfortable, bathroom is ok. Breakfast is good but does not stand out (served at the table - no buffet breakfast). It is taken outside weather-permitting, while enjoying a great sea view from Taormina heights. Service at reception desk is excellent. There is a parking lot 3 minutes away, a bit hard to handle with desk personnel often needing to accompany in order to open the gate and move cars around in order to free up the car but it is not too big of a hassle (thus, desk personnel keeps the car keys). On the minus side, rooms are very noisy, with dogs barking pretty much constantly, wind whirling through the door, noise from other rooms, etc. Sleeping without earplugs is hardly possible. If you chose a room with sea view, expect such view from a pretty narrow window. The view is largely spoiled by construction sites (May 2010). We regretted having paid the sea view surcharge.

This is a lovely hotel. However, an event occurred which nobody had any control over. Early in the morning there was a very heavy rainstorm and my daughter and I woke up to 4 inches of water on the floor of our room. The storm drains on the street had backed up and the water had no place to go but downhill into our room which was the lowest one in the hotel which is built on the hill like a terrace effect. We stayed in bed while the hotel staff opened the atrium door to let the water flow out like a river; then they mopped up the rest. It took 1 1/2 hours. Fortunately, we had not left our luggage, clothes, phones, and cameras on the floor - just our shoes got wet. We were very fortunate. My daughters Coach shoes were ruined; we didn't want to argue with the hotel manager as they were devastated from this mess, too. We left to see the sites for the day and when we returned the room was immaculate and warm with no sign of having been flooded. The manager refunded our money for that night. I felt that both nights should have been gratis, but I guess this inconvenience was part of the adventure of traveling! I would recommend this hotel to anyone and would definitely stay there again.

we get at first a room in floor minus 3 (163) very small and with no good atmosphere, for 78 euro? after we ask we get the room next no' 165 better one, "with private roof". we choose the parking of the hotel for ten euro for day, expensive for my opinion.the parking is far from the hotel and close with a gate ,so you have to take a key to open.nice breakfast and nice view.five min walks to the center. the elevator was very slow and the light blinking fast for two days.

I stayed in the Hotel Condor with my boyfriend for 4 nights. We loved the location of the hotel. It was easy to get to the beach by day (by cable car) and it was only a 5-10 minute walk into the town by night. The service was excellent. Very nice to stay at Condor! Centrum-near, nice-looking little hotel. Nice and spacious room, balcon and wonderful view (sunrise at 6 o`clock was indeed nice!). The staff were very welcoming and helpful, and gave valuabel information without being asked, in excellent english. Breakfast very good in a welcoming terrasse. Nothing but positives for this hotel. My wife and I spent two nights in Taormina, and our choice of the Condor was perfect.A quiet location, yet close to the city center. The room was very comfortable and we were made to feel most welcome by the owners.....a nice touch in Sicily was the number of small, family run hotels that went the extra mile to make your stay pleasant. Particularly liked the breakfast on the dining veranda overlooking the sea each morning. Also, the upgrade to room with seaview balcony.

We had a spacious enough room with balcony and nice view over the bay (ignoring a nearby contruction area which luckily showed no activities). The whole staff was very friendly and helpfull with tipps and recommendations. Center and Greek Theatre were comfortably in walking distance. There are plenty of restaurants nearby. We liked the ones a bit hidden in the smaller lanes better, than the very touristic ones at the main road. In general Taormina to us had more the charme of Disney-romantic and not true Italian style.

This was our first visit to Taormina, indeed Sicily, and Hotel Condor provided a very pleasant home-base for four nights. Helpful, welcoming staff looked after us, always giving us a warm smile, good sense of humour and cheery greeting that makes a stay more special. Lovely people. We enjoyed breakfasts on the rooftop. Room fine in all ways.Perhaps one suggestion for improvement might be the inclusion of tea/coffee- making facilities, although no-where in Italy did we find this. Good location not far from main streets, and you could see Etna erupting (in the distance, I'm glad to say!) from just us the road! One thing we did not enjoy was the crazy driving- cars, trucks pedestrians and especially mopeds all pushing their way through the narrow streets and Autostrade - a wonder there are not more accidents. I know this is not Hotel Condor's fault, but thought it was worth mentioning if you are planning to drive. We had a lovely stay- thank you.

Hotel Condor was our home for seven days in Taormina. The complementary breakfast was wonderful and the family who owned the hotel was warm, friendly and so very caring. Had a very nice 2 days at the Condor. The staff could not be more helpful or friendly. They are delightful. Views are good but I suspect that there are better in Taormina. Our bathroom was a bit tired. Main problem was directions which were not terribly helpful which led to us driving down quite an important pedestrian only street in Taormina ! "Follow signs to centre of town" is not very helpful. Your maps are also a little rudimentary.

Our stay at the Condor was only for one night, but the staff were very helpful and friendly. The rooms, though not beautifully decorated by any means, were clean and the views of the ocean lovely. The breakfast area (indoor because it was rainy during our stay unfortunately)was very nice and the food adequate. The parking was a little bit of a walk, but not bad. We were within walking distance of the main shopping areas. The bathroom for our room was very cramped, but the one for our teenage sons was much less so. Again, the staff was very helpful and friendly. There is not lift, but that wasn't an issue for us.

The hotel was absolutely beautiful! the setting was wonderful and so close to the center of Taormina. The views were nice. the only negative about the place is the neighborhood dogs. around the block there is a dog that barks all night long and consequently gets all the other dogs in the neighborhood going. Our experience at the Condor Taormina was excellent. Service was wonderful. The quality of the hotel for the price we paid was great. Warm friendly family run hotel, very helpful, polite and accomdating. Clean reasonably comfortable bedroom, but compact. plenty of cupboard space, Clean moderate en-suite. Pleasant roof terrace, though we could,nt see Etna the outlook was ok. Quite but narrow street (all Taormina is narrow streets) Good breakfast available with varied breads, crackers, ham (not so good for us veggies) cheese, jams etc. Overall pretty much as expected from previous feedback info. Extra cost of 'safe' parking is a niggle, more so for longer stays, but te welcoming style makes up for any other shortcomings. Taormina has some wonderful scenary if you feel like a little exercise, climp to the Saracens fort for some stunning night views or sunrises, keep climbing for the village perched on the next peak, to overlook the fort and bay, and back across to Etna. Very touristy, try out of season, good for 2/3 days.

Okay, I spent much time looking up and comparing hotels through this site. I have been to Italy 4 times, and just returned, having stayed here at Hotel Condor. I will tell you this very important finding: Hotel Condor is the best hotel my wife and I stayed at in Italy! Marcello the host was very cordial, the rest of the staff was friendly and informative. The location was perfect, away from the crowds, and fun to walk anywhere. It was a healthy and short distance to the tram which takes you to street level where you can walk down the many steps to the beach. For the value, Hotel Condor is PERFECT, so don't waste any more time, and book a room right now. In fact the temperatures around this time of year are swimmingly perfect. Grab your girl, put on your walking shoes, and passagere your way along the beautiful town center.

A great place to stay at a great price. Breakfasts on this hotel's rooftop terrace overlooking the sea are some of our nicest memories from 10 days in Italy. The hotel was nice with terrace with a beautiful view in which breakfast was served. The room itself was quite small, the bathroom very small. The main concern about my stay was the airconditioning. In the middle of both nights of my stay the A/C went off and the room became a sweltering inferno and I had trouble sleeping. During the later morning the first night the A/C wen back on. The next day I had had enough and asked an employee to take a look at it and he had to wiggle the cords to the A/C to get it to work again. Other than that my stay was good. The location is great, very close to the main drag "Corso Umberto I". Another thing, they tack on 10 Euros for parking per night.

very nice area of town, despite the building works/noisy dogs in the mornings. very friendly staff always willing to help. some spoke alot of english others less, but always enough to get by as with most places in taormina. the breakfast was just right for us (rolls, jam, coffee, croissants etc) great location for etna market with good affordable food and wine. the bathrooms were very clean and with good showers. our room had a balcony that looked over the valley/sea, which i think several others had too. the lift is very slow, but we managed walking up the stairs fine despite being on the lowest floor. local restaurants were all to our liking, tiramisu was very nice and not too touristy, and for very good value and tasty pizzas the on near the arch (opposite Parisi, the prada selling shop) was perfect, but we forgot the name! also recommend the local beach that can be walked to or reached by cable car that has lots of good fish to snorkle with

This was a very good choice for the value in Taormina. It was a few minutes walk off the main road, which is a positive as it was quieter. Excellent veiw from the outdoor breakfast patio.

Condor is a great price for Taormina. The breakfast was wonderful on the terrace with a great view. Also great view from our balcony over part of Taormina. Staff quite helpful. The place is 5 minute walk to the Corso Umberto but a long walk uphill from where the bus lets you off. So for anyone not in shape, take a taxi to the hotel from the bus dropoff. Take the bus from the train station however rather than the 25 euro cab fare. Buses run every half hour or so. Loved the Condor for the price. They do have internet access at the hotel and were nice enough to give us breakfast earlier than usual so we could be the early bus for the train.

What a great deal - a charming hotel, good location, and a terrific staff. We had a lovely room with a balcony overlooking the sea for the most reasonable price. The staff made all arrangements for our trip up Mt. Etna, and took care of our car (we were a bit too frazzled by the traffic to park it ourselves.) I highly recommend this hotel.

The hotel room was large, clean and spacious. The breakfast was good, the staffs were all polite and helpful. There is dog barking at night but... Although we had some trouble finding the hotel and reaching it on foot with lugguages in tow, we ended up staying one more day. We will definitely return should we be in Taormina again. Every one in the hotel was friendly and nice.

This is a relatively inexpensive hotel in an expensive place. Accordingly, the level of services is lower than at a different location at this price. In general I was satisfied with everything except two things: 1. the breakfast is just enough to start the day. They should offer one or two more pieces of bread, then it will be OK. 2. It rained twice during our stay and there was a periodic noise during the night. There must be something that, when fills up by rain, gets instable and poors out the water.

The staff was very pleasant and helpful. It appeared to be 2 generations of a family. We were one of two guests (off season) and we could hear the family next door. Also, the town, and the next door neighbor have several dogs and they barked day and night. There was nothing the hotel could do about this. The breakfast room and patio have a wonderful vista and the food was fine. When asked about restaurants, the staff had several suggestions, but were unaware that every restaurant they suggested, as well as all the others we found were closed on Wednesday evening.

Very helpful and charming desk clerk. She gave us excellent restaurant recommendations, checked the railway timetables for us, and made reservations for the tour to Agrigento. Best estaurant was Tiramisu, but others were very good too. We met a young English couple, and a couple of Australian ladies, all enjoyed sharing their travel experiences and plans. . The breakfast room on the roof was great, with a superb view over the bay and the town(and the dogs next door!)

The family were so welcoming and helpful. They went to no end of trouble to make sure we were comfortable and happy. It was out of the centre but not too far to go to be in the middle of things. I would definitely recommend it for comfort and quality at a reasonable rate

We throughly enjoyed this hotel. All of the hotel staff were very nice and extremely helpful with anything we needed. The breakfast(included in the price)was lovely, served outside so that you could start your day with beautiful views. We had a private balcony which gave us the opportunity to relax and enjoy the beauty of the area. We would definitely stay here again.

This hotel is, as everyone has said, very nice, and the staff was friendly. However, considering parking is charged at an extra €10/day, this meant we ended up paying €96 for a double room + unguarded parking space, which I couldn't help feeling was rather a lot for what it was. Our room looked out over a construction site and wasn't particularly spacious. The bathroom was fine, although the shower is minute! The breakfast was very nice, and is provided on the rooftop terrace which has splendid views. If it wasn't for the extra charge for the parking, I would have been very pleased with this hotel but, for us, that made it just that bit too expensive for what is was (especially considering we chose the hotel because it had a parking, not knowing you had to pay extra for it).

Everyone of the people at Condor were extremely helpful and everything worked! So glad because I was trying to decide between booking Condor and Astoria and when I saw the location of Astoria (across from the bus station) and was delighted that Condor was in a SUPERB location. Customer service was exceptional.

We had a lovely stay at this hotel I would fully recommend it as it is exactly what you need, its right near the centre of the town. There are some lovely restaurants around the corner. The room is perfect, although it was a little noisy at times from the dogs howling and some small amounts of construction work taken place. We went back to the same hotel the following week after doing our travelling around the island so that speaks for itself I think. We also had a lovely meal on the terrace that was cooked to perfection by one member of the family. To sum it up i could'nt of asked for a better place to stay great value for money all around.

Very good quality for the price. The rooms are very simple, but comfortable and extremely clean. The bathrooms are too small, but OK for a short stay. The breakfast at the terrace was very good. The staff was very kind and helpful, although their english was not so good.

Hotel Condor is well located away from the busy end of town but still within walking distance of anywhere you might wish to go. Continental Breakfast was excellent, served by welcoming staff. Rooms have thin walls so pack some earplugs! There are a lot of stairs (as you would expect in Taormina) but there is a lift, except for getting up to the terrace for breakfast. A taxi from the railway station costs ~15Euros.

The hotel is in a walking distance from the center and the main street. The staff was very friendly and english speaking. And also as we had a rented car- it was great that the hotel had their own parking place ca 100m from the hotel. Evereything was great- the location, the staff, the breathtaking view from the terrace where we had breakfast. But the size of the room and bathroom! They were really small. You could hardly find your way round the bed and bathroom was like a closet. But anyway it's a good place to stay while visiting Taormina.

We were disappointed with this hotel. Rooms were very small, and finding the hotel was stressful. We would have liked and expected more for our money. Service was OK, nothing to complain about, but nothing to rave about, either. We would definitely go back to Taurmina, but would not stay at this hotel.
