Great views from the balcony in the room, the property was well maintained. The room had a small safe - too small for a laptop, but large enough for me to fit most of my camera gear. Staff made good recommendations for restaurant. Staff was friendly. Would stay again.

I liked this hotel. It is a good value for money. The rooms are very simple but nice. Our terrace had 2 sunbeds and a nice ceramic painted table with 2 chairs. The views from the terrace are really breathtaking. The hotel has a nice garden. It is nicely located in a short walking distance from the main stret and center. There are two computers with internet for the guests and wi-fi zone. The staff at the reception were nice and helpful.

Bel Soggiorno is a quaint hotel set on the side of a Taormina mountain overlooking the beautiful Mediterranean Sea with the majestic Mt Etna on the adjacent side. Absolutely breath taking views! My husband and I stayed from Dec 27th-Dec 30th before moving on to Siracusa. Our room was plain but very clean. Luigi was so helpful in recommending local restaurants. We walked everywhere. I had to take my time because of knee surgery but I was able to keep up. Teatro Greco was within walking distance and it was so impressive. We had a good breakfast every morning in a nice breakfast room. Parking is very tight on a steep incline but we did manage. I love this place!

Very disappointed with this hotel. The room was dilapidated, tiles were cracked, cheap furniture and accessories were in the room. The person who greeted us was awful and started telling us about things in town when we kept on asking him how to get to our room. It was very frustrating. The phone in our room did not work. The internet access is a computer in a common room that is very slow. The breakfast was awful. The drinks tasted as if they were watered down. The coffee was horrible and other than the bread everything was tasteless. The "feel" of the hotel is that they don't want to put any money into the hotel and they are there to make money from the guests. We stayed two nights and were happy to leave.

We had a room next to the breakfastroom, which ment a little noise in the mornings. The room especially the bath room - was worn down. Bel Soggiorno is rather expencive, as everything in Taormina. But the view, terraces and the friendly and competent staff made it worth it!

Beautiful hotel, friendly staff mostly, and the only meal on offer at the hotel, breakfast was adequate. As this resort is very hilly, the hotel itself is very tricky to park car at, due to a very steep, narrow driveway, and once inside lots of stairs,no lift only made difficult for us when arriving and departing with luggage. Definitely not suitable for anyone with mobility difficulties. Overall though, we enjoyed our stay in this pretty hotel, and some members of staff couldn't do enough for us.

A very nice stay, a bit expensive, but Taormina is a resort so I have no complaints. The receptionist was very helpful in directing us to the town above, the beaches below, and to Mt Etna. The walk up to town is not all that difficult (the walk through the park was lovely) unless you are elderly or in very poor shape. Breakfast is nicely laid out with an impressive view. The quad room was a liitle small but fine enough with a nice view of the Ionian Sea below and a loft for our teenage children. The only difficulties was a fire alarm that went off at 4:30AM resulting in a brief evacuation from the room (it was interesting what each of the four of us grabbed as we left!!) and their trouble with their credit card reader that delayed our departure by 15 minutes. Neither really impacted our stay. My only real complaints are 1. they did not respond back to me when I earlier EMAILed from home asking some questions, and 2. their Internet connection was terrible, either horribly slow or not working at all - oh well, I'm on vacation and I shouldn't be checking office EMAILs!!!

3 night stay, family room for four, just after Christmas. Medium size hotel, good views, but you need to brave the traffic on foot in one or two places. Well run, good breakfast. Obviously designed for Sicilian summer, so cold in winter. A log fire was sorely missed. Public transport is patchy and not co-ordinated, but the bus station is not far from hotel. Beware some taxi drivers - we had good and bad. We came by train - services good but not v frequent. Train around Etna (circumetnea) is worth checking out (pick it up at Giarre).

Since I requested a actual bath in the 'bathroom', (after 6 days of long, steep walks, much needed!), also maybe also because it was low season I was given a room in the charming older part of the Hotel, which I found delightful. The room had more character than the bedrooms shown on screen. The garden was enchanting (despite discovering the indigneous black ants!)The view of Etna excellent although with the Soggiorno's site lower down nearer the sea different as compared with Greta. I would return if possible budget allowing! Yes, I felt restored after one night (heard the owls calling thro., the open balcony shutters< from the Olive grove below?)Little did I know that the next day because of the irregularity of the bus-man's strike, I was to miss my flight home. However I was to discover Syracusa!

We spend newyear at Bel Soggiorno, which was a great experiance. The Hotel location and the morning view over the Taormina bay and Etna were a sight to never forget. Very friendly host and the most varied breakfast we had in Sicily. If ever in Taormina I certainly would go back.

A very good hotel. Very well located, commanding majestic views of Taormina bay and only a pleasant 10 min walk to the city centre. Highly recommended. The only negative aspect is the hotel parking which is somewhat tight. But otherwise it is a marvellous hotel.

We stayed in a room on the terrace and it appeared to be larger than the rooms in the main building. It was modern, spacious and clean. The outside seating areas and gardens were lovely, and allowed you to really appreciate the amazing views. This is a stunning hotel with a lovely Victorian conservatory where breakfast is served. A short walk up hill gets you to the centre. The only minor downside was the parking - it was a bit of a tight squeeze (obviously not a problem when it was built 100 years ago), but overall we absolutely loved this hotel!!

My wife and I stayed at Hotel Bel Soggiorno for 2 Nights. The Views from the rooms and the main dining room are spectacular! The centre of town is approximately 10 minutes walk as parking in the centre is not easy. Hiring a scooter would be a good idea to get around and see the surrounding areas. Staff are ok. Breakfast is very good, especially when you are seated on the verandah overlooking the sea with Mt.Etna in the distance. Overall, an enjoyable experience and would happily return.

An excellent hotel in the outskirts of a lovely town. The location is quiet and restful with only occasional traffic noise. The sea views and the views of Mount Etna are spectacular - especially as we were able to view an eruption during our stay. The hotel has its own parking which is definitely a bonus in Toarmina. Staff are friendly and helpful. We can unreservedly recommend Bel Soggiorno as a place to stay

It was quite difficult to have some kind of touristic information in the hotel, the reception staff (the owner of the hotel) didn´t have patient to talk with the costumer. I tried to have some information but he just spent one minut to explain in few words everything. There are 5 floors WITHOUT elevator. Take care if you are going to stay in the standard room. 10 minutes from the centre of the town in a hill (up)

The hotel is painted white and very plain, simple and pleasant. Our room wasn't large but the views from our two balconies were fantastic, one over the sea and hotel garden, and the other over the coast and mount Etna. The walk up to the town isn't too difficult and you can go through the excellent public gardens. As the hotel is slightly out of the centre it's pretty quiet, and there are some spaces for cars.

This is a lovely hotel in a beautiful position overlooking the sea. Its location involves climbing a number of steps to Taormina town centre and would not be suitable for anyone with mobility problems. Breakfast is taken on the large and elegant terrace with sea views. The breakfast is of very good quality and choice. Hotel is as advertised and a short walk (although steep) to the main street of Taormina. The grounds and views are beautiful, staff helpful and friendly. They did not have enough doubles when we reserved and gave us a quad which was actually a room and a loft. Since it was a bit crowded for 4 I can't be exactly objective about the size of rooms. One day I did not feel well and a staff member was very solicitous, offering me a beverage and making sure our room was made up right away so I could lie down. We would stay here again if we are back in the area.Breakfast was ample and served in lovely porch overlooking the garden.

Great hotel to visit Taormina. It's very important that it has parking! Only inconvenience is that to go to downtown, you need to climb a steep road. Do NOT stay here if you have any walking problems, you will need to climb the road everytime you go to Taormina, and it is not that easy. Also, NOT good if you have babys or very young kids. For the rest, a great choice. We spent three nights at this hotel as part of our honey-moon and we loved it! Good breakfast.

Great view from our outdoor balcony, our breakfast would be served on our own outdoor table. at night we would sit with a bottle of wine and look at across the ocean. very romantic. our room had a upstairs lounge room which i ended up using to sleep after a few days because the bed was so hard. warning- the bed heads arent attached to the bed so you hear a lot of banging from the rooms. the shower was disapointing because the hose had a bend in it and would only work as a handheld, which was hard when washing hair. if replaced bathroom was great had a bath which was rare in our travels in italy. lots of stairs to climb while in the area so it keeps you fit. if you go to mt etna, take gloves it is freezing! hotel has great views and is very relaxing, would stay again.

This hotel is loaded with that faded old world charm. We had a fantastic room (no 23) which shared a large panoramic terrace with rooms 22 & 24. Room was cool, spacious & simply furnished. Loved the little window in the bathroom with a seaview. Great shower - not a hand held! A rare treat in Italy. All that said, we are not sure if many of the reception staff really enjoy the hospitality industry? Sebastian who worked at breakfast compensated as he was entirely accomodating & cheery. Bit of an uphill walk to the town centre which helps compensate for all the lovely food in Taormina! We would stay again. Who knows, reception might get to like us!

Bel Soggiorno is a very charming hotel placed in a excellent position surrounded by a beautiful garden. You can enjoy the breakfast on a terrace with sea view. The panorama is terrific. To go to Taormina you have to walk 5-10 minutes. There's just a problem: the hotel is an old building and it can be quite noisy in the morning. The noise of the road is also a bit disturbing, but this is a problem in all Taormina and not of Bel Soggiorno only. We had pleasent time (5 days) at Bel Soggiorno and we can suggest it specially for couples.

This is in a perfect location between town and the beach. It is about a 10 min walk into town and a 15 min walk down the stairs to the Isola Bella beach. Each room has its own terrace with a great view of the ocean and the hotels garden. If you want the best room request Number 24, it has the largest terrace. All the double rooms are the same price. Is a 10 minute walk to Taormina, which is a lovely town and so was a great holiday. The hotel is on main road but is still very quiet. My only fault is that it is 20 minutes walk to the cable car (to sea-shore), and the hotel itself has no pool. So if you want to go swimming or laze around sunbathing, its a problem.

Good value for a 3-star hotel. The best feature is the view. Dramatic, panoramic views of the ocean from your balcony. We have 2 children and our room had a double bed plus 2 single beds for the kids which worked out well. Walk to town was about 10 minutes and manageable- even with the kids. Breakfast is great, with a great view of the sunrising over the ocean in the morning. No restaurant, which would have been nice. But there is a wide selection of restaurants within walking distance. We live in Italy and have travaled extensively- I would stay here again.

We spent two weeks in Sicily at four different locations, and Bel Soggiorno was our favorite. The view was incredible, the room very comfortable, the bathroom was huge and the shower had plenty of hot water (a simple pleasure we learned to appreciate in Sicily).
