Meriton Old Town Hotel - Tallinn
Lai, 49 - Tallinn
877-662-6988The property, featuring a splendid view of the Oleviste Church with its 124 metre-tall spire, was built over the foundations of the fallen Rentern Tower, once part of the city walls. Characterised by a pseudo-Gothic style, dominated by natural stone and wrought iron and enhanced by soft lighting and delicate colours, the hotel offers a charming and inviting atmosphere. Rooms are cosy and functional and the service is impeccable.
Modern conveniences, such as wireless Internet access and a 24-hour bar, will ensure guests have a truly pleasant and comfortable stay.

Location is on the edge of old town with a 10min to the town square. Given that this was a 3 star hotel i was very disappointed with the room. It was outdated and very dull, the shower was very annoying as it had a curtain and it was so small the curtain clings to your body like cling wrap... some of the staff was very helpful, but some was not at all. The room didn't even had a laundry bag, you had to go down and get one from reception??? why not have it in the room? The tv was an old 28cmm TV hung high on the wall, and given the distance to the bed, you might as well bring a pair of binoculars to watch it with... Breakfast was good. Overall the hotel was disappointing.

All of the staff at the Meriton Old Town were particularly helpful and spoke excellent English. We had no problems, but the one or two small enquiries we did have were promptly and efficiently dealt with. Breakfast was included and was adequate, but not exciting. There are loads of restaurants nearby. This is a small medieval hotel. The room sizes are all different and it has odd corners and much character. We like this, but if you are looking for a plastic Novatel, look elsewhere!

My first time in Tallinn. Excellent quality/price ratio. Friendly staff (they helped with my delayed bags, fixed a dinner after kitchen close, etc. Small room and bathroom, but absolutely clean and comfortable. Excellent location in the old town : within walking distance of many interesting places.

For the second time after April 2007 I really enjoyed my stay at the Meriton Old Town Hotel at the north edge of Tallinn (Lower) Old Town. Totally recommended. Good rooms for a reasonable price, and excellent location.

If your BMI is higher than 24, you should look for larger rooms!!! Room and shower extremely narrow, but for slim people o.k. - Good base for exploring the old town! - Difficult to reach with a rental car because of road construction. Have to pass an old town gate and then two times right. See the photos.

The Bella Vista rooms with the balconies face onto a busy, noisy street...not worth the extra price. Otherwise a very good value for being inside the walls of the Old Town.

The beds are much too small. And also the rooms are very small. I would recommend this hotel to all people who are not fat and max 1.80 m. tall, and who use the room just to sleep. The reception personnel is excellent.

Hotel is a good starting point for old town city walks. Young and competent hotel team. Ideal for visits of 3-4 days to become acquainted with Tallinn.

I did not find my booked room when I arrived. For the first night, I had to go to another hotel. About breakfast, it is complete but not well organized. Anyhow, even if rooms are small, they are nice and the hotel is placed in the very heart of Tallinn.

The rooms are small, so that it's impossible find the space for the luggages but the hotel is in the heart of the old center of Tallin and that's very fine. However, what about my complaint about another reservation 2380178 confirmed but never found in Berlin? Do you wish my legal action? Pleas answer my fax

This hotel is good value for money providing free internet, clean rooms/public areas and is in close proximity to all the main attractions of Tallinn - it is also within walking of the port, handy for trips to Helsinki. However, note that room sizes do vary as I discovered on my second stay - I would still recommend this hotel regardless.

The room was tiny as was the bed, with stange bedding. No draw space. Mini bar was empty for first 2 days. Shower also tiny. Breakfast was adequate. Internet in reception was not working for the whole 3 days. Hotel is located at the very edge of the old town.

Customer service, accomodations and meal service were excellent. My only complaint is size of twin beds, too small. Room was small so can see why very narrow twin beds were used, but perhaps the room configuration could have used a dbl better than two small singles.

The hotel has 2 really nice rooms with balcony which are highly recommendable. The other rooms (we just had a short look) are very small. The hotel rooms are partly situated close to a very busy road. Still it´s a good place to stay because it´s within the old town, which is the most interesting part of Tallin.

Very beautiful surroundings in the old town, quite close to the Helsinki ferries harbour. Hotel is really neat and clean, however the room was VERY small. Warmly recommend if you do not intend to spend a lot of time in the hotel room...

Situated at the edge of the old town, the hotel is next to a frequented bypass road. Actually, the traffic noises demand to close the window. But due to the tiny size of the rooms it is getting too stuffily to sleep well. The breakfast was served in a historic, but drafty passage hall equipped with a TV showing soundless commercials. The offered food selection was uninspired and identical every day (one kind of sausage, one kind of cheese, some cereals). The prices offered in EUR are exceeded by the local exchange rate.

I had bokked a Bella Vita room but upon arrival there was no BV room available. I think it is sad that a booking via web and e-mail can´t be trusted! But, facing the fact that there was nothing to do (no BV room available!!) the staff handle it VERY VERY well.

Unusual and comfortable rooms making creative use of space. Staff were pleasant and efficient. Excellent location and hotel includes a cafe where you can get a very reasonably priced lunch. I'd definitely stay there again!

Clean, charming place. Bright, cheerful staff. Building is attractive, newly renovated and well maintained. Excellent location, because it is within the walled Old Town, but tucked into a corner so that it is quite quiet.

This was a lovley building well situated not too close to the centre and very quiet. The rooms were rather small. The breakfast was very disapointing, when food ran out it was not replaced so it was very much first come first served.

I recommend this hotel in the old city of historic Tallinn. It is located within 5minutes walk from the cetntral square and very convenient. It is also in a walking distance from the port. Accomodation is clean and staff's hospitality is good. Only think I should complain is the map on the web which is no use and you may be mislead to another hotel which has a similar name.
