Friendly hotel well placed for the old town and railway station, easy taxi ride to airport. Very helpful staff who know the local area and are prepared to go that little further for thier clients. Good restaurant, late evening bar.

A great value for money option only a short stroll from the town square.

The perfect hotel to visit a wonderful city. The location of the Imperial nestles under the walls of High Town and is part of the lower city walls and towers. Most comfortable hotel beds we have slept in for years. Breakfast was plentiful, perhaps a few more heaters would keep the food a little warmer. The restaurant was charming in appearance, the menu was unusual and too much cheese for our liking, but it was a Cheese Restaurant! Tallin has a wide variety of food to offer. A visit to the Beer House is a must! We will certainly be back and would definitely return to the Imperial.

My wife and I stayed at Hotel Imperial in Tallinn for two nights in August, as part of a long holiday driving through eastern Europe. Neither of us had previously been to Tallinn, the maps we had were not in the greatest detail, and we arrived in the afternoon rush hour after driving up from Riga, but we found the hotel easily, by following the railway line (the main railway station is just at the end of Nunne Street, although far enough away from the hotel that we did not hear any trains). I had been warned via the website, that the hotel has very limited secure parking, and had booked one of these, and received a charming confirmation by return; I would recommend anyone driving there to do likewise. On arrival, we were impressed by the pleasant but unpretentious appearance of the hotel, but it was not clear to us whether it was permitted to park in the street outside, so I left my wife in the car while I went to reception, where I was greeted in excellent English by the attractive receptionist who gave the impression that she was waiting specifically for us, as she had our papers on the desk in front of her. She confirmed that it was OK to leave the car outside while we unpacked it, and then we should leave the car keys with her, and she would arrange for it to be moved to their private parking, which turned out to be a small gated courtyard to the side of the hotel. We then took our keys and luggage up in the lift (rather small, but just about adequate for two people plus luggage) and found that the corridors were really atmospheric, with uncovered brickwork, which made the hotel feel old and interesting. The room was excellent, with a view out over the minor sidestreet to a garden of a house on the other side and (if you leaned out of the window) a view down to the old town wall towers; during our stay, we discovered that the town wall effectively runs through the hotel. We soon settled in and thought it would be nice to walk into the old town (which got b

Position is excellent, it is 5 minutes into the old town centre and the fact that it has been built into the walls of the old city makes it very different. However it is not what you would expect in a 4 star hotel in most parts of Europe. The room we were given was very tight and did not have a wardrobe which is possibly what we would rate worst. The bathroom was new but there is a lot of use of plastic, plastic toilet seats is not what I would expect in a 4-star hotel! On the other side the staff is really good, they made umpteen telephone calls for us and did contribute to making our stay pleasant. Breakfast is also very good.
