Hotel Villa Adriatica - Supetar

Villa Adriatica is a good hotel. We were given a very friendly welcome with drinks. The room we were given was one of only four or five with a decent view over the beautiful garden and sea. The rooms behind have an uninspiring view over the buildings at the back. Breakfast was very good and the staff could not have been more friendly. The only snag was that we either had to pay in cash or accept a 5% surcharge for payment using a credit card. This is absurd. You don't book over the internet to save time only to have to traipse off to the cash dispenser to withdraw large amounts of money to pay the bill. That is the only drawback, but a major one. Parking was fairly easy but might be a problem in August. The hotel is terribly hard to find from the car ferry because of the hopeless street system in Supetar. The sea is about five minutes away, requiring a trip (on foot) through the big hotel complex across the road. If hesitant over staying in Supertar or Bol when on Brac, I'd choose Supetar again; Bol is pretentious, full of package tour style foreign tourists whereas Supetar has a more genuine feel to it.

We had an extremely friendly welcome. So much so it was a bit un-nerving. The hotel and rooms are clean and comfortable. The only gripe was that they wanted to charge you for use of the hot-tub! I would have thought that these facilities would have been free.

We stayed there four nights in June 2005 and were delighted by the service provided. The staff was competent, friendly and helpful. When we enquired about a possible plane transfer to Hvar, the owners made all the arrangements in Supetar and Hvar and even drove us to the airport in their personal car. They suggested good restaurants in the neighbourhood. On our last night, the restaurant was open and we were served one of the best meals of the whole three week trip in Croatia. Villa Adriatica exceeded all our expectations and we would highly recommend this hotel.

This was quite expensive, but very nice. However the hotel does not accept credit cards, soplease make sure you have cash ready.

The welcome was superb and the management and staff very friendly. However, we felt misled as although staff were happy to serve drinks wherever we wished, the bar, cafe and restaurant were not opened until mid July. We went at the end of June. This should have been made clear in the web pages. We discovered towards the end of our stay that the hotel had no facility for cashing travellers's cheques. We were then told that despite the booking being secured through the website by credit card, there was no facility for us to settle our bill in this way. Assuming we would be settling by credit card, we had insufficient cash to pay the bill, which meant that we spent some time transferring funds between accounts in order to access more cash via an ATM.
