Upscale hotel with good location, outstanding service. We walked over to the Ludwigsburg palace from the hotel; for us it was a long walk, but through gardens most of the way, so very pleasant. Hotel restaurants were expensive, but really gourmet and worth it. Service was outstanding, even with unusual requests like translating something for us.

I suggest this location to wealthy couple, because it's a little bit expensive but it's worth. Ludwigsburg is a little town , lovely for people who is looking for piece and quiet. Stuttgart is an hour of train far, but public transports are very efficient so it's very easy to go to visit it.

The hotel definitely had the feeling of a five star property. It was only a few minutes' walk from the main train station, and is in a lovely old building. We ate dinner in the restaurant and the quality of the food and the service were both excellent. We could easily have stayed longer.
How to reach Nestor Hotel Ludwigsburg
By car
From highway A8, follow the indications to Karlsruhe and change to highway A81 direction Heilbronn. Exit at Ludwigsburg Süd and turn in direction Ludwigsburg (on Schwieberdinger Strasse). After 2 km (1.2 miles), cross Stuttgarter Strasse. Turn left in direction Heilbronn. The hotel is on the right hand side.
By train
From Stuttgart railway station, take S-train number 4, direction Marbach, or number 5, direction Bietigheim, and get off at Ludwigsburg. Take bus no. 421 and get off at Arbeitsamt.
By airplane
From Stuttgart Airport, take S-train number 2 or 3 to the Hauptbahnhof station. Continue with S-train number 4 or 5 and get off at Ludwigsburg. Take bus no. 421 and get off at Arbeitsamt.
