the price we paid was great, but the hotel needs some updating. one room had a bad odor. the bathrooms were very small and cramped. the location was great, lots of shopping and restaurants nearby. our room was near the church-bells every morning.

I do not have enough great things to say about this place. The location is amazing. Right next to several delicious restaurants. Not even a one minute walk from the main road that runs along the lake (stunning). Also very close to the place where you catch the ferry to the islands. The staff were so helpful with whatever we needed. Clean, comfortable. I recommend it!

We had a wonderful stay and would recommend the hotel to anyone travelling to Stresa . The location was excellent . The staff was great . Breakfast was great . The only concern would be the noise - our window was on the street over looking a bar and a restaurant . It tended to be a bit noisy at night . Also the church bell were also outside our window and rang in the morning at 7:30 . The noise did not really bother us but might be a problem with some people . Stresa is a wonderful , restful place with great restaurants and shopping .The town is friendly and everything is within walking distance . Many great tours of the area are available .

Good hotel at great location. Another hotel in the area, "Meeting", is owned by the same people, and has a great restaurant; if you stay at "Primvera", you get a great quality dinner at "Meeting" for just 12 euro.

The hotel is located right in the "downtown" shopping, restaurant area convenient to the port. However, we were unable to sleep the first night with the noise from the outdoor cafe until 2-3am! The hotel did change our rooms which helped immensely. The breakfast was poor. I think they put it back in the refrigerator at the end of breakfast and just took it out again the next day. One day the fresh fruit salad was already spoiled. They obviously didn't check it.

A great location being very close to Lake Maggiore & a reasonable price. A detailed map of how to get to it from the station would have been helpful, but we found it using common sense. The weather was very hot so it was unfortunate that the airconditioning failed or was turned off during the night. We were unable to open the windows for air as there were some noisy people in & around the hotel. Price was right.

The location was excellent; close to the Lake, train station, ferries, and in the pedestrian zone. We loved the location! However, upon our arrival on a very hot day we were shown to our room and it was extremely warm in the room. The staff told us how to turn on the AC and then she left. We turned it on as per her instructions and then went to use the bathroom and take a cold shower. The toilet seat had a previous occupants urine on it. GROSS! The shower was small but refreshingly cool but also had a previous occupants hairs in it. The air never turned on during this time. We went back down to the desk and were given opposite directions as to how to turn on the air (one employee said turn all the way to the plus symbol, this employee said turn it all the way to the minus symbol). We followed directions and then went out and left the room in hopes that it would be tolerably cooler upon our return. When we got back late at night it was still hot. We went back down to the desk and this employee told us that the rooms were controlled and that the thermostats were set to 28 degrees C and would turn on when the temperature in the room went above that. We slept with the balcony doors wide open in hopes of getting some of the delicious cool breezes off of the lake to enter our room. The air conditioner never turned on and the room was uncomfortably warm. The breeze made it better but there was a loud bar crowd below our window that celebrated boisterously until about 3:30 AM. Then a parade of garbage trucks began to drive up and down the small alley below our window retrieving load after load of refuse starting at 6:00 AM. We waited until everyone was up and about and returned to the front desk to inform them of a sleepless hot night due to a non working air conditioner and asked if it could be fixed or if we could move to a different room that might have a working AC. She called the manager and we were told someone would fix it right away. When we returned to t

The location is excellent, near the lake and on pedestrian area, near a lot of restaurants. It is also very close to embarkment point, and to railwai station also. The people at reception helped us to book the bus to Malpensa airport, and the bus stop is near hotel also. Too much noise from the church bell. Also , late in the night, noise from the people on the street.

We booked in at Primavera (and this questionnaire applies to that hotel) but in fact were transferred to Meeting hotel. This was quite acceptable except for the unfortunate fact that no-one informed us of this change in booking. A simple piece of paper was stuck to the window of Primavera with this information. It was late, raining and we had our bags. And it is useless saying that the Meeting hotel is easy to find as it is right next to the conference building - as a visitor to Stresa I had no idea where that building was. The Meeting hotel was adequate, but this questionnaire refers to Primavera, so I can't really give a fair vote. My ratings are based on the inadequate information received and my subsequent impression of Meeting.

Not quite sure how this hotel rates a 3 star rating, other than on location to " walking district", compared to 8 other 3 star hotels we used throughout our travels in Italy. Has not had any upgrades or modernization for some years....The staff was nice and helpful.A little difficult to locate and parking is a challenge, but free once a steet location is obtained.

I would choose the same hotel if I visited Stresa again. It is close to the beach and to the "down town" as well. The neighbourhood is vivid and it reminded me of Plaka in Greece,of course in a smaller scale.Warm and kind people at the reception, especially Carola. If the prices were lower it would be an excellent choice. The only problem is that it doesn't have a view to the lake or anywhere else being on narrow street.

Our stay was brief (2 nights) but our accommodation was just what what was required - clean & comfortable. The staff where the exceptional feature - unfailingly helpful & polite. My one (very minor) complaint would perhaps be the noise levels generated by a large group of German tourists late at night.
