Have stayed there several times, but not anymore - had to spend many days without a bed lamp, they just did not bother to change it though I asked several times.

We were just here for one night. It's near the train station so we didn't expect anything too spectacular. They did provide a locked room for luggage storage which was quite nice. Very old hotel with creaky floors, but there is a shower in room.

A wonderful hotel which is very close to the station. It is also very close to the old part of Strasbourg. The rooms were great and very quiet. The bathroom is not large but functional. The breakfast is probably not worth the cost as there are many places near by. The little bar/pub in the hotel is a wonderful place to have a drink or coffee. Excellent value for mone.

The room was not as clean as we had experienced in other hotels booked on venere.com. The staff were friendly and helpful. The location of the hotel was 5 minutes from the main train station and shopping. There was a grocery store close by.

The hotel was generally clean, but no elevator up to 4th floor may not be suited to older people. Close to train station which was important for me as a solo train traveler. The staff was friendly but did not offer any extra advice, even when asked. The room was small as I expected, but clean. It was okay, but I might search for another hotel if I visted this area again.

The rooms really are quite small, we were two quite small people staying and it still felt a bit cramped, but value for money is great and location is ideal! Having the late opening bar downstairs is also a bonus.

The Hotel Grillon is near at the train station and also at the center of Strasbourg. That's really great. The hotel is simple but if you are there just for sleeping it's perfect. Strasbourg at night is very nice: you can do sightseeing with a ship for an hour at night and also during the day (till 18 years about 3 or 4 euros only, I don't remember exactly!)

The location was ideal, close to train station and the beautiful city. The rooms were supposed to be air conditioned but this proved not to be the case; very uncomfortable on the upper floors. They did move us from the first sweltering room to one that they said would be cooler, but it wasn't. Fortunately we didn't spend our days in our room and, with the open window at night, we managed.

The shower did not work properly, there was no stop in the basin, and there was quite a lot of noise from outside (or from the hotel's bar). Still, the hotel is close to the station and within walking distance from all attractions. If one is basically looking for a place to sleep it is ok.

An excellent choice for an inexpensive hotel with super-easy access to train station, and easy walk to old town. Didn't eat breakfast at the hotel since there are many bakeries nearby, but it looked like a decent breakfast room. BNP Paribas bank is right across street as is a small market with fruit displayed on the sidewalk. McDonalds is at the end of the block, across from train station (embarrassing, but my 10-yr old is very picky and this was a life saver.) Room was minimal in decor, bathroom smelled a bit and excrutiatingly small (like in an old camper), wood floors. There were 4 of us in a top floor room w/balcony overlooking the Christmas lights. Hotel is nothing fancy, not for everyone, but an EXCELLENT location for a GREAT price...if you're not too picky. I recommend it, as long as you don't set your sights too high.

I didn't get the room which was advertised in the website. There are actually only a handful of rooms of that standard. The remaining rooms are small & dirty. The toilet is equally as dirty & the toilet bowl is cracked and dripping. You can hear all the noise of guests walking outside your room at night. The furniture in the room are also of poor condition. I tried to get an upgrade but was told that the hotel was fully booked. Surely not a 2 star hotel standard. Don't go there even if its for the location. Other hotels nearby offer 101% better conditions for your euros....

Very helpful employees at front desk. They spoke English very well and tried to answer any questions we had. The rooms were clean and fairly large by European standards. I would stay there again. The location is about two blocks from the train staion and was convenient to public transportation and to the downtown area.

The hotel was very good. It was what it said that it was, namely a not too expensive hotel to sleep in near the station in Strasbourg. The room was a bit small and a coat of paint might have helped. Nevertheless there were plugs and bedlights and it was clean. The breakfast was pretty good and the price very reasonable. The staff were helpful, too. If I wanted a hotel to sleep in and perhaps do a little work, I would certainly go there again. I was travelling on business, but what I spend on hotels is my choice.

The Hotel Grillon was a pleasant surprise, as it exceed my expectations for the price. The single room was slightly small, but with enough space. The bathroom was modern and very clean. It is incredibly good value for money. The hotel has two different areas, though. The one renovated 5 years ago is nice, modern and very clean. The rest, to be renovated soon, is rather old and not that nice, but still quite and clean. Breakfast was very good. The hotel location is unbeatable, five minutes to Strasborg's city centre and two minutes to the train station. I would certainly recommend this hotel to others and I will return when in Strasbourg.

Merci.

The hotel was easy to find - just a few steps from the train station - and my room was small, but clean and provided everything I needed. The receptionists were very friendly and competent. The only thing that I can complain about is the noise level - a school group stayed at the hotel the same time I did and kept running around and screaming. But overall I enjoyed my stay at the Grillon very much.

We were quite impressed with this hotel. It was a terrific value situated within walking distance of every area of interest of Strasbourg. Our bedroom had been renovated two years ago and was pleasantly up-tp-date with full bath and tv. The rooms in the front of the hotel can be a bit noisy at night on the weekends, but not overly so.

The room was excellent. We booked a 3 bed room for 2 adults and 1 child and the single bed was in a separate sleeping area, which was very convenient. The air conditioning was wonderful and room was so smart and clean that I could not believe that it was 2 star rated. The hotel was easy to find, but I found the homeless people sleeping and drinking in the street outside quite intimidating. I also got a parking ticket for parking in the street outside. I later found parking under the train station for about 5 Euros a day. Breakfast was 5 Euros each at the Grillon, so we went down the road to McDonalds. Overall the hotel was great and I'd recommend it.

The web site makes it sound as if all rooms have air conditioning, but if you want ac you need to specify "confort" room. The rooms are old, but the price is reasonable and the staff was very courteous. Parking is at the train station about half a km away. Not bad, €5,50 a day. The breakfast is €7,50 extra.

Hotel Grillon is a lovely little hotel within easy walk of the Strasbourg train station. The price I received via the reservation service was excellent, and the hotel personnel were pleasant. The breakfast buffet was generous and good. The main street is a bit noisy at night, but the availability of air conditionning made up for that--I could close the window and still be comfortable. The two rooms I used were pretty small but they were clean and newly equiped.

The hotel had not received our booking, although did find us a room for the night. However the next night we returned to the hotel to discover our luggage had been shifted to another room without us being informed. The room we had been shifted to did not have a private bathroom which is what we had booked. Several bath items were also lost in the shift. One member of staff was very helpful and reduced the amount we were to have paid and offered us a free breakfast. However when we were due to check out the person on reception questioned whether we had even made a reservation and that it had included a private bathroom. Luckily we had 2 copies of the confirmation from the hotel as they had lost the first copy but we were able to prove that we weren't making the whole thing up. If they hadn't questioned our honesty it would have made a huge difference.

Hotel fine - atmosphere good. I would have preferred more precise information on the email about access from the airport. The shuttle system which I used on my return is excellent and at €4.70 is much cheaper than the cab I took upon my arrival which cost €33. However, I enjoyed my stay in Strasbourg enormously.
