exterior - night
Hotel Hannong is ideally located in the heart of Strasbourg, halfway between the TGV train station and the Cathedral, (less than 500 metres) and also close to Petite France.
You will enjoy the charm of a beautiful house that has a lot of character: large staircases leading to grand landings decorated with original wooden floors and wall fabrics.
In the elegant Wine Bar and its lounge with glass roof, you can enjoy an excellent choice of wines to the glass on which the barman sommelier will comment with pleasure. An ideal place for organising tailor receptions and events. In June 2008, a brand new summer bar with an open space terrace, called Les Terrasses du Hannong, has been inaugurated for your private receptions. Moreover, comfortable conference rooms are at your disposal for your your professional meetings and seminars.
Hotel Hannong combines an authentic interior with comfort and modernity. NEW! A brand new outdoor area is open since June 2008: The Hannong's Terraces.

Nice hotel near Petit France, cathedral and restaurants. Would recommend it and would stay there again. Strasbourg is beautiful and the shopping is grand

Hotel is excellent. Location is excellent. Rooms are small. Prices are high. --- Strasbourg downtown is very small and public trsnportation is good (tramway). So one could probably stay a little bit more away from downtow and probably spend less.

Best thing is easily the location and price. It was comfortable, attractive, clean and probably the most affordable hotel for the price and location. Another bonus was being able to turn the heat off and the hallways weren't overheated. I would definitely stay there again, but not in a single room. There is one tier of single rooms by the elevator that probably use to be a closet or public toilet, the rooms ending with 16. Like others have noted, the room smelled like cigarette smoke, though housekeeping came and freshened it up. Can't explain why it smelled like that to begin with.

I will admit that the rooms are smaller than tiny. However, the fitout was modern and clean. The location was absolutely fantastic. All in all the experience was very satisfying.

Lovely friendly and helpful staff. Easy walk to main sights, quiet street.

The rooms are small but perfectly adequate and very clean. Those on the inner courtyard side are very quiet, you might get some noise if you're on the side facing the street. The location is excellent - very conveniently located for exploring the old city. They even have their own terasse in the inner courtyard, very nice to relax with friends in the evening over a drink. It is also easy to get to from the station, a 10 minute walk or a short tram ride.

Great location, parking only 3 min walk for 5 Euros overnight! Walking distance to the Cathedral and pedestrian area. Room with two beds is bigger than a double room, but the price on Venere was the same (we needed two rooms). Good breakfast at the very trendy salon/room! We had a special rate for 9 Euros.

Great staff and location. If we come back, we will repeat. The only thing to improve is that for large families (2 adults + 3 small children), like us, we had to take two rooms that were together but no connected.

we stayed in a triple room which was newly decorated and very spacious with a big bathroom.Excellent location and very clean, quiet and comfortable. We had breakfast elsewhere as that was expensive in the hotel but for the room and location I would certainly recommend this hotel.

Staying in a triple room we found it very small compared to triples elsewhere. Not helped by work being carried out early in the morning - just as well we were up early to leave!

Overall decent, room had not been updated in a while but overall was clean and pleasant. Location is very central, seconds from Place Kleber, the supermarket (Monoprix), and less than 5 minutes from the Cathedral. Bathroom had a few fixtures I was unfamiliar with:) Very helpful & friendly staff, otherwise it didn't stand out in any way but was not bad for the price and had no complaints.

Very good overall stay. There were some minor issues tough: bathtub joints need to be refreshed and the view could be improved. The room were we stayed in was rated "Prestige" and as such we were expecting a perfect service. Parking is exensive: expect 20Eur / day at least. The breakfast / restaurant room is a must, with some architectural informations about the construction of the hotel, its history and surroudings.

Very good central location, within easy walking distance of the cathedral, shopping, station, old town etc. The room was a bit small for the price (we had a "superior" room -I suspect the standard ones are of broom cupboard dimensions), but clean and pleasantly decorated. The lobby and common areas are attractive, and the bar serves a good selection of local wines. We didn't try the (expensive) breakfast, but had a good one in the cafe attached to the cinema across the road. Staff were welcoming and helpful. Some proper tea/coffee in the morning would have been welcome - we got an odd selection of novelty teas from room service, not the best for English people!

Very accomodating for a family with three young children; fast check-in, baby beds in place, didn't charge for the childrens' breakfasts. Very quiet room for a central location, walking distance to everything. A real bargain at off season rates but would have been equally happy paying the full rack rate. A great property! Also, a BIG recommendation for a nearby reataurant which we discovered called 'Umami' which, oddly, could not be found in the Michelin guide.

We only stayed 1 night, so this Hotel was perfect. Centrally located we could easily go back and forth between sight-seeing and going out. The rooms aren't very big and we soaked the bathroom while showering, but otherwise everything was great. Can highly recommend this hotel for one or two nights, but would never pay full price.

Very well located. Walking distance from the train station and just on the edge of the old city with all attractions only a few minutes away. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The elevator was out of order and the receptionist offered to arrange the carrying of our heavy suitcase to the 2nd floor. Bathrooms are very spacious and have a double sink!!!. Interior of the hotel is lovely old world and is very well kept. Very good value for money (We didnt take breakfast at the hotel following the advice of other postings here).

This is a nice hotel in the heart of Strasbourg. We liked our stay in the hotel, and in Strasbourg as we could reach most everything of interest within 10 minutes of walk. We had a place in the parking in place Kleber, we did get a discount on the rate there beeing a hotel guest, the hotel itself has no parking facilities for cars. The staff was friendly and competent speaking German and English and was very helpful. I can recommend this nice hotel to everybody.

Quality versus price would be excellent if the breakfast was included. However, this hotel is perfectly located for someone going to Strasbourg just for a stroll in the centre area. i would recommend this hotel for a short stay.

We spent 2 nights at the Hotel Hannong and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The prices were reasonable, the staff was friendly and professional, the location was terrific and the rooms were not terribly large but nice. We were within a short walk of most major attractions, and there were great restaurants, a deli and bakeries all within one block. Other reviews had said that the breakfast wasn't worth the price, so we skipped it. It wasn't hard with 3 great bakeries/pastry shops within the block. It was a nice old world style hotel that was a great value; I would definitely stay there again.

Well located, charming hotel within a short walk from both the cathedral area and la Petite France. Excellent service, and a possibility to park your car in a covered car park just around the corner for 15€/24 hours, which was a reduced price for hotel guests. Venere only offered us rooms from the cheapest category, so they were very small, but very clean and with air-conditioning. If you don't need a big breakfast, it's cheaper (half the price) to go to one of the nearby cafes than have it at the hotel.

This hotel is in an excellent location with very helpful staff. The room we stayed in was large and comfortable. However on the minus side -breakfast was not included and at 13euros was very expensive for what was on offer. The use of internet was also expensive. We ate breakfast in local cafes after the first day.

Very professional and friendly receptionist when I arrived, offering information and a map of the city. The interior of the hotel was nice with e.g. wooden floors. I had specifically asked for a non-smoking room and was given one (does not always happen in all hotels), so that was good. Location was perfect, a very central location on one of the main shopping streets. Still my room was quiet, as it was on the other side towards a quiet side street. I would definitely recommend this hotel and would not hesitate to stay there again. The only thing I was missing was a better bread selection at breakfast (there was only white bread, no wholegrain bread).

Very nice, cozy room. If you don't mind a small room (like most of them in France anyway) I wouldn't look for anything else. Staff of the hotel is very competent and welcoming and speak at least English and German other than French. Hotel is located very close to all main leisure places and places to see in town you can walk everywhere and you can also walk to/from the hotel (in 3-6 minutes) from the railway staion if arriving by train. If we go back to Strasbourg we will definately stay in Hannong againg.

I arrived after 9pm and the reception was courteous and efficient. The room was comfortable without being over decorated and the bathroom clean and efficient. I loved the public rooms and staircase with art posters and simple comfort. The breakfast was good if a little expensive. The overall feel of the hotel was very pleasing.

The Hannong hotel exceeded our expectations. Its location is very central, on one of the major streets, easily reached on foot from the station and very near to all the places of interest in the centre. The hotel is beautifully furnished. I often used the stairs instead of the lift, so as to look at the tasteful decoration of corridors and stairs, with reproductions of paintings, nice carpets, etc. The employees speak very good English, are friendly, welcoming and competent. We had a minor accident and the employees were able to give us all the assistance and advice we needed. The rooms are spacious, nicely furnished and kept perfectly clean. We strongly recommend this hotel.

Excellent location! But rooms (even superior) are really small. Breakfast buffet is nice, although a bit overpriced. It was vey fair that they didn't charge us extra for a baby bed in the room, nor for breakfast for a 3-year old child

Every interaction with staff from the time of booking questions to personal requests during the stay were handled quickly and extremely professionally. Virginie was extremely helpful! The hotel facility itself is very nice, excellent location and an excellent value for the price. I would recommend to friends and family visiting the area.

We very much enjoyed the Hannong and would stay there again on our next trip to Strasbourg. The location is very near Petit France and the tram line, but is not on any of the noisy main squares. The staff was very nice and one receptionist was so helpful she even made several phone calls for us to locate colleagues and make restaurant reservations. The breakfast buffet was kind of expensive (11 euros) but had everything you could possibly want. Nice room - not huge, but not closet-sized either.

I loved it that the hotel was in the middle of the town and yet it was nice and quiet. Also the size was nice, not one of those hotels with never-ending halls but just a few rooms on each floor.
