The staff at this hotel are pleasant but the corridors and rooms are in poor decorative repair and I would consider this a one or two star hotel at best, certainly not three. There is not much excuse for this because there is easy business when the Parliament is in session (which is often) and all the rooms were booked. The carpet in my room was drenched but I had to stay in it for two nights until another room was available. The carpet was still wet after two days. Also for example there was no phone or bin in the room or do not disturb sign and as a result the maids were banging on the door from 10.30am. The maids were very thorough but let down by having to clean rooms on the shabby side with for example wallpaper peeling in places.

First time in Strasbourg, and only for a night and couple of hours the next day. This hotel is 10 out of 10 in terms of price/quality. 50 euros for 3 persons in a fairly nice room in 5th floor overlooking a quite nice area, is the best option i think. Don't bother if your standars are to high eg luxurious etc. But do bother if you are searching a nice place that will save you money for other activities. Next time in Strasbourg, if there are rooms in this hotel in the same prices, i will definetely go again. My friends had quite the same opinion with me. We had car so the distance to the centre was not a matter, even if there is a tram station in front of the hotel and the distance is walkable for those who like long walks

Dirty towels, not working wi-fi, cold cold room, creepy surroundings. Its a cheap place with the busses in front of but better to spend some more euros and get a city center hotel

In general, the room is quite spacious, we booked a twin room for 2 persons, and we got a big double bed and a single bed. However, the shower in the bathroom was broken, having a nice shower is barely possible. Our room is near the main street outside, but one of the curtains was broken too. If you have high demand for darkness at night, then it may be hard to fall into sleep.

Hotel location is pretty good. Right next to tram lines C and E - so you can get anywhere with ease. Room was spacious BUT many things broken or malfunction. Closet door broken, phone not working, bathroom door handle broken. For some reason they do not give shampoos, only a soap bar, and after 2 nights they threw away my soap bar and did not replace it. I had to go down to reception (since phone turned out to be broken) to ask for a new one. The good thing is that they did fix the door handle when I told them it was quite dangerous (someone can lock himself in the bathroom, with no way out). The other things I commented upon checkout so don't know if they fixed.

I got a room on the ground floor. It was very noisy The room was in a poor condition : old, outdated; unhealthy feeling Bed was bad (too soft)) TV could work only through miraculous handling I planned to stay on two occasions in this hotel; I had to cancel my second planned stay.

I felt very good in my room. It was clean, quiet with bath-tuband had a nice view, not to the street-side. It seemed to be not one of the recently modernised ones, but for me it was the best option I could get, since its location is directly near the campus and the tram stops in front of the house.

In spite of booking a twin room they gave a double with a small bed and we were two male adults. No chances to change. The room was filthy with old stains everywhere and the bathroom had old black mould around the shower. The dimension of the room was 20% larger than the bed, it was on the last floor of six (with the hot ceiling due to the day sunshine). In the hotel there were two school trips (11 Swedish + 20 Italian boys). The first ones went alltogether in the room aside mine and played music and screamed all the night. The Italians were on the first floor, luckily. The parking did not exist. You have to find a place on the pavement, down the hotel, if You are lucky to find a place, otherwise walk kilometers. It was a nightmare. If I had had a gun I would have shot the concièrge (no way to speak with the owner, too busy!). I would not recommend this hotel to anyone, but very young boys and girls who want to have fun (like a hostel).

In comparisation with other hotels in france lots of space in the rooms. We needed a 3bed romm and a two bed room and got two 3bedrooms. The washroom was clean, the furniture was used but in good condition. If you are looking for a 3 or 4 stars hotel, then you are here definitely wrong, but the relationship between price and quality is excellent.

I truly enjoyed my stay at D'Esplanade. I received warm and personal, professional assistance from the staff. They were helpful with any of my questions or requests. D'Esplande is very convenient to the tram which can take a guest anywhere in the city.I found it to be a good value, clean and very pleasant. I would definitely stay there again.

We stayed one night in Strasbourg. The hotel is quite convenient - located directly next to public transport which gets you into the city center for EUR 1,30 within 10 minutes. You can even easily walk. Staff was friendly. Although parking space is rather limited we easily found a slot in front of the hotel where free parking is available. The carpet on the stairs could need some vaccuming. Also, the matresses were sagging. However, for the price we paid you could not really expect more.

Very priceworthy, and since Strasbourg turned out to be much smaller than we thougt, for the health concious - everything is within a walking distance from the hotel (10-15 mins).

Small cheap hotel. Rooms were very small and old-fashioned but very clean. Seperate private bathroom was also very clean. A negative point is that the floor makes funny noises which is not very pleasant when the room above yours is used. We did not use any meal. The owners very nice and correct. Good hotel just for young tourists just for spending the night and to visit Strasbourg if you don't need any luxe in the hotel.

Very impressed to find that I was only charged the price quoted online which was 15€ less than on the hotel board. The hotel is very close to the university but parking is a problem especially if you arrive late at night. The room we had was basic and the breakfast unexciting but for 40€ in the centre of a major city, we felt it was excellent value.
