Hotel Hannong is ideally located in the heart of Strasbourg, halfway between the TGV train station, Musee de l'Oeuvre, Notre Dame, and the Strasbourg Cathedral, (less than 500 metres), and the Petite France.

You will enjoy the charm of a beautiful house that has a lot of character: large staircases leading to grand landings decorated with original wooden floors and wall fabrics.

In the elegant Hannong Bar with its glass roof, sommelier Christophe is delighted to share his knowledge of Alsatian, regional, and homemade wines. Guests may select wines by the glass or by the bottle. Guided tastings with matched pairings of cooked hams and cheeses for groups as small as two or as large as 100 are not to be missed. In consultation with the wine expert, Christophe, tasting sessions will be thoughtfully tailored to the particular style, preference, and personality of each group. In June 2008, a new summer bar with an open space terrace, Les Terrasses du Hannong, was inaugurated for private receptions. Amenities at this lovely hotel include 250 square meters of event space consisting of banquet facilities, six conference/meeting rooms, a ballroom, and exhibit space. Complimentary wireless Internet access is available in public areas. Other services and features include a roundtrip airport shuttle available on request (surcharge), a hot and cold buffet breakfast (surcharge) served each morning, currency exchange, secretarial services, dry cleaning/laundry services, and disabled-friendly facilities. Room service is available during limited hours.

Complete breakfast with regional products at 16€ is ok for a leisure stay but not adapted and to expensive for a business stay. A 2nd offer with a coffee and a croissant or similar would be a good offer.

Nice and comfortable hotel centrally located in Strasbourg, from which you can reach within minutes on foot the most famous attractions in town (Petite France, the Cathedral,...). Room not very big but quiet and (fortunately) had air conditioned (outside 35°), cleanness was not at its top. Breakfast too expensive (16€): we had wonderful breakfast in one of the many "salon de thé" of the city. Impossible to find an available place in front of the hotel to leave the car even only to ask for parking facilities at hotel desk at arrival: parking itself not free (14€ per day not mentioned) and of difficult access.

The hotel was clean, attractive and efficiently run by friendly staff. Its location is excellent and the price reasonable. My one criticism is that the bar, which was made much of on the website, might as well not be there. It is small, unwelcoming room with staff rarely in evidence - we were told it closed at ten, which is far too early for a hotel bar. Also not sure about the design of the bathroom. It was fine for me as a single person using a double room, but would not suit two friends sharing.

The bathroom area was seperate and great for women because of the counter space to place all the woman items we take. Towels were thick and it was a very good bathroom and shower. The room was a bit small, the bed too firm for us and not decorated as well as it could have been, too dark. AC worked well and I think we had CNN and BBC. Location was perfect, about 10 min. from Gare. You could eat right around there. Our walk to the center and Cathedral was about 15 min. Eat at La Dauphin, right in front of Cathedral, one of the finest and quite reaonably priced meals of our trip in a gorgous back garden-type area. Also, by using Venere we saved 20 Euros. It was 99 E's walking in and we paid 79.

Best thing is easily the location and price. It was comfortable, attractive, clean and probably the most affordable hotel for the price and location. Another bonus was being able to turn the heat off and the hallways weren't overheated. I would definitely stay there again, but not in a single room. There is one tier of single rooms by the elevator that probably use to be a closet or public toilet, the rooms ending with 16. Like others have noted, the room smelled like cigarette smoke, though housekeeping came and freshened it up. Can't explain why it smelled like that to begin with.

The rooms are small but perfectly adequate and very clean. Those on the inner courtyard side are very quiet, you might get some noise if you're on the side facing the street. The location is excellent - very conveniently located for exploring the old city. They even have their own terasse in the inner courtyard, very nice to relax with friends in the evening over a drink. It is also easy to get to from the station, a 10 minute walk or a short tram ride.

Location is very central, seconds from Place Kleber, the supermarket (Monoprix), and less than 5 minutes from the Cathedral. Bathroom had a few fixtures I was unfamiliar with:) Very helpful & friendly staff, otherwise it didn't stand out in any way but was not bad for the price and had no complaints.

Very good overall stay. There were some minor issues tough: bathtub joints need to be refreshed and the view could be improved. The room were we stayed in was rated "Prestige" and as such we were expecting a perfect service. Parking is exensive: expect 20Eur / day at least. The breakfast / restaurant room is a must, with some architectural informations about the construction of the hotel, its history and surroudings.

Very good central location, within easy walking distance of the cathedral, shopping, station, old town etc. The room was a bit small for the price (we had a "superior" room -I suspect the standard ones are of broom cupboard dimensions), but clean and pleasantly decorated. The lobby and common areas are attractive, and the bar serves a good selection of local wines. We didn't try the (expensive) breakfast, but had a good one in the cafe attached to the cinema across the road. Staff were welcoming and helpful. Some proper tea/coffee in the morning would have been welcome - we got an odd selection of novelty teas from room service, not the best for English people!

Very accomodating for a family with three young children; fast check-in, baby beds in place, didn't charge for the childrens' breakfasts. Very quiet room for a central location, walking distance to everything. A real bargain at off season rates but would have been equally happy paying the full rack rate. A great property! Also, a BIG recommendation for a nearby reataurant which we discovered called 'Umami' which, oddly, could not be found in the Michelin guide.

We spent 2 nights at the Hotel Hannong and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The prices were reasonable, the staff was friendly and professional, the location was terrific and the rooms were not terribly large but nice. We were within a short walk of most major attractions, and there were great restaurants, a deli and bakeries all within one block. Other reviews had said that the breakfast wasn't worth the price, so we skipped it. It wasn't hard with 3 great bakeries/pastry shops within the block. It was a nice old world style hotel that was a great value; I would definitely stay there again.

Well located, charming hotel within a short walk from both the cathedral area and la Petite France. Excellent service, and a possibility to park your car in a covered car park just around the corner for 15€/24 hours, which was a reduced price for hotel guests. Venere only offered us rooms from the cheapest category, so they were very small, but very clean and with air-conditioning. If you don't need a big breakfast, it's cheaper (half the price) to go to one of the nearby cafes than have it at the hotel.

Very professional and friendly receptionist when I arrived, offering information and a map of the city. The interior of the hotel was nice with e.g. wooden floors. I had specifically asked for a non-smoking room and was given one (does not always happen in all hotels), so that was good. Location was perfect, a very central location on one of the main shopping streets. Still my room was quiet, as it was on the other side towards a quiet side street. I would definitely recommend this hotel and would not hesitate to stay there again. The only thing I was missing was a better bread selection at breakfast (there was only white bread, no wholegrain bread).

Staff of the hotel is very competent and welcoming and speak at least English and German other than French. Hotel is located very close to all main leisure places and places to see in town you can walk everywhere and you can also walk to/from the hotel (in 3-6 minutes) from the railway staion if arriving by train. Its location is very central, on one of the major streets, easily reached on foot from the station and very near to all the places of interest in the centre. The hotel is beautifully furnished. We very much enjoyed the Hannong and would stay there again on our next trip to Strasbourg. The location is very near Petit France and the tram line, but is not on any of the noisy main squares. The staff was very nice and one receptionist was so helpful she even made several phone calls for us to locate colleagues and make restaurant reservations. The breakfast buffet was kind of expensive (11 euros) but had everything you could possibly want. Nice room - not huge, but not closet-sized either.

I loved it that the hotel was in the middle of the town and yet it was nice and quiet. Also the size was nice, not one of those hotels with never-ending halls but just a few rooms on each floor.
