Hotel Lord Nelson - Stockholm
Vaesterlanggatan 22 Gamla Stan Old Town - Stockholm
877-662-6988Here you can stay in a tall, narrow 17th century building that is reminiscent of an old ship. In the 17th century it was inhabited by a printer named Ignatius Mauer who, together with Göran Helsing, was responsible for printing Sweden’s Charles X version of the bible. You can see a copy for yourself, proudly displayed in the hotel lobby.
With a width of barely five metres, the building on Västerlånggatan 22 is without a doubt Sweden’s narrowest hotel and probably the one that most resembles a ship. Memorabilia abounds, with a wonderful sense of the sea. All the items have been carefully collected over the years by the hotel’s owners. The gleam of brass and mahogany set the imagination alight. Every night, the porter makes his rounds and winds up the old grandfather clocks.
Lord Nelson hotel also offers a small sauna, a library, a rooftop terrace and Wi-Fi internet connection available throughout the building to make your stay as pleasent as possible.
In the very heart of the Old Town with advantages and drawbacks of this localization: everything is near but surroundings are quie noisy, with shouting drunk tourist...

In the very heart of the Old Town with advantages and drawbacks of this localization: everything is near but surroundings are quie noisy, with shouting drunk tourists in the middle of the night. Hotel is nice and cosy and you live virtually in a museum with pieces of the owners' collection of maritime artefacts around you, but everything including rooms is very tiny. There is no air conditioning in rooms (only in the lobby). Unless you have exhibitionistic inclinations, curtains must be drawn all the time, because windows of the building on the opposite side of the street are only about 3 meters from you. But by any means, this is not a bad hotel, in some respect it is even excellent, and it offers adequate quality for the money you pay. By the way, there is an error in Venere's description: all rooms have breakfast included by default.

The hotel rooms are very small. The breakfast is good, but the breakfast room is very small too, so be prepared to share a table. The people were very nice. The library is (small) but quite nice, I finished my coffee up there and read one of the English newspapers. I would stay at this hotel anytime, a very good location and value.

Cabin-style rooms (no kidding, like a ship's cabin) were small but perfect for someone just using them to sleep and clean up. The price and location just can't be beat, right in the heart of Old Town (Gamla Stan). We walked everywhere, and everything was within easy reach. If you're going on vacation purely to hang out at the hotel, this is likely not the hotel for you, but if you just need a place to sleep at night and don't want to pay a fortune, you'll be hard pressed to find a cleaner, more friendly, cheaper location anywhere. Loved it, will definitely be returning.

Lord Nelson is a well-positioned hotel, just in the center of historical part of Stockolm. From here it's possible to reach every interesting site of city especially on foot Very clear and the customer service was very kind and available to give informations. My room wasn't really big, anyway very clear and silent. Opulent the breakfast

This is the ideal location in Stockholm, "Gamla Stan" or "Old City", in a building from the 17th Century I believe, thoroughly modernized but with the charm intact and like a maritime museum. The rooms are like cabins on a cruise ship and therefore small. I would recommend this hotel to everyone, but especially to single travellers, since most of the rooms were said to be of the single type. No traffic, good restaurants everywhere near the hotel and a short walking distance to the railway station and to the commercial center of the city.

For a reasonable hotel in the best possible central location, this is great. It is still a bit expensive considering the hotel type and services, but town hotels tend to be like that. Very small rooms.

The hotel is located in the middle of Stockholm's Old Town. Surprisingly it is very quiet. All tourist attractions and Central Station are whithin walking distance. The staff is very friendly and speaks excellent english. The room was not spacious, but clean. Breakfast is not included, but the buffet is very comprehensive.

Excellent location for couple in which the woman loves to shop and male doesn't want to tag along shopping. Step out of the hotel's doorway and right onto the pedestrian mall w/all those boutique shops.

The location is fine, a short walk from the business centre, on a pedestrian street in the Old Town. The rate was considerably below the local average, and so was the size of the single room. A fair deal in that sense. No unpleasant surprises, everything went as expected, information at venere.com was accurate.

Lord Nelson is a charming place in the heart of Stockholm. The price is on the same level with the hotels located out of the city center. Rooms are very small, but you'll find there all that you need for a few days stay. Note: high speed internet as well as breakfast are not included in price.
