Freys Hotel - Stockholm

At first there was a mix up as I understood 'economy room - bed and sofa bed' as meaning there would be a double bed and a sofa (if there were extras). But, it was a SINGLE bed and a single sofa.... this was disappointing but staff were very obliging and changed our room for the second night. Very well located near to great shopping areas including NK. Breakfast is fantastic!

Nice and cosy, makes you feel "like home" in the middle of Stockholm, close to the Arlanda Express, great shopping and within walking distance to a lot of tourist attractions!

I travelled with my girlfrieds in April 2011. We had two Twin rooms on the 6th floor. They were nicely decorated but somewhat small, and the view from the windows was not very good - on the inner court. The Hotel is very nicely situated. It is a 5 minute walk to the Central Terminal from which buses to Stockholm aiports run. The main shopping street is just around the corner. Historic centre of Gamlastan is a 15 minute walk. The hotel staff is very helpfull and friendly. Many thanks to the girl at the reception Linn who is so nice and helped us to organize our stay!

Good hotel, quiet, good restaurant. Small rooms, larger rooms available at higher price. Hotel surroundings are poor, but the hotel is close to the City Terminal and at walking distance from attractive places.

It was my friend`s and my first time to visit Stockholm. The hotel is located in the centre of the city and the train staion which we reached all on foot. The hotel rooms and bathroom are clean, quiet but not spacious. Breakfast was in abundance!

The double room single use was very very tiny, especially the bathroom. Breakfast with poor sweet products (biscuits, marmelade, etc..)Excellent position, in front of Arlanda Express, near the main shopping street and at 15 min. on foot to Gamla Stan.

The staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome...from recommending wonderful resturants to making tour arrangements for us. The location of the hotel is excellent, being 2 blocks from the main bus terminal and train station as well as within walking distance to the shopping district. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Ottima la posizione per i principali luoghi di interesse e per la vicinanza alla stazione degli autobus per l'aeroporto. Le camere sono un pò piccole ma silenziose.

Even if a little bit expensive, the hotel is very nice and clean and set in a very strategic position respect to the centre of the city , a good breakfast too, only the employees we met at the reception not so kind and competent

Hotel molto carino, stanze piccole ma pulite e arredate con gusto. Colazione abbondante anche se da segnalare l'assoluta mancanza di croissant. Posizione eccezionale a pochissimi metri dalla via centrale e dalla stazione. Senza ombra di dubbio, consigliatissimo.

This hotel is in the centre of the city, near the mainstation both train and bus. Comfortable for airports connections. Good breakfast and internet available. Its location allows to visit the city and get shopping.

Das Hotel liegt super; 5 Min. vom Hauptbahnhof. Vom Flughafen Arlanda ist das Hotel ohne weiteres in 45 Min. erreichbar (mit Schnellbahn). Als Unterkunft kann ich dieses Hotel mit einem guten Gewissen empfehlen. Für Bierliebhaber ist die Hotelbar eine Oase.

Stockholm is a very expensive city to stay in - hotel rooms costs a lot more than in other big city´s we have been to - but it is a beatiful town surrended of water on al sides - absolutly a place to go - in the same street as "Freys" hotel - there is a nice and cheap restaurant: "London" Bryggargatan 2

Our room was quite small, but very cosy. The breakfast was in the restaurant nearby (a bit poorly lighted for my taste). We had lunch in the same restaurant: it was good, especially the beer!! The position of the hotel is perfect: near the train and bus station, near the city with shops and near gamla stan. The metro is ten meters form the hotel. The bus nr.47 goes from the hotel to the museums of vata and skansen.

We do not think this hotel deserves the high rates and great comments we've read on Venere. There are dozens of much better hotels in Sweden for the same price. People willing to stay near to the Arlanda Express Station should better go to the Nordic Light or Nordic Sea hotels. What's the problem with Freys? - Rooms are scandalously small for the price paid ; - Everything looks old in the hotel, but without the charm of some old-fashioned interiors ; - We had a persisting bad smell in the bathroom ; - The breakfast is NOT GOOD !!!!! ; - The breakfast room is noisy and crowdy ; - The public Internet PC is not convenient at all (completely bloked with proprietary browser, advertising and a lot of convenient functionalities are disabled).

I had a very pleasant experience at the Freys. The position is amazing, but I expected something more from a four stars hotel (larger standard rooms, more public spaces).

Freys Hotel is right in the centre of Stockholm. Excellent location for shopping, close to train/bus to airport and close to underground. A surprise to find cozy rather small hotel in so good location, yet four star and with good service. However, the room was small (standard double) and the bathroom just ok. But it was fully clear in the description at venere.com. Only unexpected was a smell of smoke in the hall of non-smoking floor. At street level interesting Belgian beer pub. Breakfast good, with newly baked bread. Will stay there again ...

A part from prices (the whole Stockholm is very expensive) the hotel looks like one of the best in the place. It is very close to the central station and just round the corner there is one of the major streets. The belgo bar is always busy but not noisy. Rooms are tiny but tidy. I strongly recommend it.

Very civilised hotel for an inner city location. Tastefully decorated. Double room was quite small but had everything we needed. Very handy for the main shopping and tourist areas. Very quiet at night. Excellent range of Belgian beers in the bar. Only downside was the orange juice at breakfast - but we could live with it.

I chose this hotel for location and availability of single rooms without supplement. It didn't disappoint.Excellent location - from the airport to the door of the hotel. I could leave my luggage for the day while sightseeing even though I was not staying a second night - priceless! The food was lovely and well presented and not outrageously priced. The breakfast buffet left something to be desired. I've had better. Overall Ienjoyed my stay.

The Freys is a nice city-hotel for a short stay in Stockholm. The best thing is: the hotel is perfect locaded. The famous stockholm ice-bar is cross the street, like the beautiful stockholm-casino. Shopping, restaurants and the central station is realy close to the hotel. The alander-express from the airport is next to the hotel (1 min.). I think, the Freys is a perfect Location for a city-trip to stockholm.
