I was travelling with my wife and her adult daughter and we booked 2 standard rooms at the Comfort Hotel. We chose it due to its close proximity to all the key sights - the Hermitage , Peter and Paul Fortress and Nevskiy Prospekt are all a short walk away. The hotel also received good reviews on Trip Advisor and we endorse these. The hotel is reasonably priced and the staff very helpful. We arrived early on the Monday on the train from Moscow and were fortunate that our rooms were ready. We were keen to visit The Catherine Palace that afternoon and the staff organised a private tour with guide for 6 people, which was excellent. My wife had not mentioned that it was her birthday that day but when we returned that evening there was complimentary champagne and chocolates in our room. The rooms were nicely decorated and beds very comfortable. The continental breakfast of cold meats and cheese was nice but there could have been more variety in the hot food. There was complimentary tea and coffee all day and free use of the computer in the lobby and no problem to print boarding cards. We would definitely recommend this hotel for its 'comfort', friendly staff, fair prices and location. A wonderful holiday!

Hotel well placed in the city. Employees were very kind and helpful. They have changed our towels each day (we stay 8 nights). We were in winter the heating was good. No surprise with the price as mentioned with Venere. Good service to ask a taxi for example. We recommend this hotel

Hotel was near St. Isaac's cathedral, the city center, walking distance to Church of the Spilled Blood, markets. Coffee and tea were available 24 hours, breakfast was wonderful. Also provided was internet, and front desk personnel spoke English and were warm and helpful. I would stay here again.

The Comfort Hotel in historic and magical St. Petersburg, Russia, is literally right down the street from the Winter Palace today also known as the Hermitage, which houses some of the most remarkable works of Art in the history of mankind. But, it was the professional, prompt, courteous, honest, straight-forward staff that made the stay even more better. Talk about real, down to earth people: The Comfort Hotel is it. Having been around the world and too many cities, it was astonishing, however, to find that many of the local Russian citizens around really do not understand how beautiful their prized city is, and how lucky they are to be surrounded by such a rich history they too are contributing to as time unfolds. If you are going the distance, and for the challenge, then go to Russia, spend your money, go to St. Petersburg and you MUST stay at the Comfort Hotel. Economical, clean, staff no bother you. Had construction going on as the Hotel is undergoing an upgrade, but no noise, really. These buildings, this City, are historical and I can only imagine how much more beautiful this hotel will be when the outside renovation is complete. I was lucky to have stayed at this hotel and these people are my friends forever.

Very nice, comfty hotel. Very well placed, within walking distance of the Hermitage, Nevsky Prospekt and other sights. Very friendly and helpful staff. I have stayed in more expensive hotels but never had a room as spacious.

I gave hotel surroundings a 5 because there is construction work on the outside of the building. The staff is excellent at this hotel.

That was a complete disappointment, disaster stay. It is not a 3 star hotel as it was claimed. Actually, property calls it self as a mini hotel, unfortunately that classification is self made. It is not a 3 star hotel, but probably a descent hostel or residential hotel. Basically, it is an apartment building, with a few floors redesign for so-called mini-hotel. There is no comfort over there at all, at least now. The building is under reconstruction, the signs "sorry for our dust" are all over the place.Neither hotel site, nor Venere.com provided with the "reconstruction" information prior our booking or arrival. The room smelled as an ashtray, and there was not possible to open windows to air out room because of ongoing exterior construction. The security of the property in and outside was zero. The signs on the windows says please keep windows close when leaving the room because of security issues. The safe in the closet was not attached to the wall. I was able to take it out from the closet away (have a photo of it). The conversation with management was not possible because they were available after 10 AM , the time when we left for excursions. There wasn't any available seats in the breakfast area because it is designed for much smaller number of guests.

Very good location and excellent value for money. Noisy group of guests kept us awake until 1.30am but staff dealt with it when asked. We'd stay there again.

When we arrived at this hotel we were a little unsure as there was scaffolding covering the whole building. However, once shown to our room which was more than adequate- new bathroom, very clean generally, well stocked fridge, safe deposit box etc. we settled in to enjoy our stay. This mini hotel- for the price that we paid- was very central & within walking distance- to all of the places of interest & restaurants. St.Isaacs Cathedral, The Hermitage, Church of the Spilled Blood, Nevsky Prospect, St Peter & Paul Church were all easily reached on foot. The staff at the hotel were very helpful, friendly, & had a good grasp of English. The breakfast was adequate (eggs, sausages, porridge, cold meat & cheeses, cereals, teas & coffee) & it was nice being able to use the breakfast room any time of the day for drinks & cakes. Overall we had a most enjoyable five days in St. Petersburg.

Friendly, welcoming, knowledgeable English-speaking staff. Excellent value. Great location within easy walking distance of Hermitage, St Isaac's etc. Standard double room was pleasantly decorated, clean and adequate size. Some street noise as to be expected in a city centre hotel. Two floor lay-out within larger buiding is unusual for Americans, but it felt very safe and comfortable. Resonably priced and reliable transfer arranged to and from airport. Convenient and good buffet breakfast with restaurants very close-by. Everything was great. I would not think if staying anywhere else in St P for the combination of convenience, value and comfortable feeling for a visitor to Russia.

The hotel is great-esp compared to others in StPetersburg of the same or similar price-level. The only critical point is the VERY small breakfast room where you nearly can't move....

Our room was small, but nicely appointed. It was called a "double" room. The bed was close to a queen size and it was comfortable. The bathroom was modern and clean. The shower is small, but was fine. If you want washcloths - bring your own! I didn't realize that in Russia they aren't familiar with washcloths. (We were in London, too, and they didn't offer washcloths either!) We bought a scrubber made of netting. The A/C worked very well. The curtains blocked out the White Nights when we wanted to sleep. We weren't in the room too much, so it didn't matter that it was small. The employees were always exceptionally helpful and kind. Several spoke English VERY well. We didn't take our own laptop, but it was convenient to use the computer in the lobby - and it was FREE!! The breakfast (included in the price of the room) was nice - eggs, sausage, hot cereal, juices, yogurts, muffins, toast, plates of sliced deli-style meats, tomatoes/cucumbers, cheese. There was coffee, milk, tea. The breakfast area is small, but pretty and nicely appointed - very cheery. We stayed there for 10 nights and felt very comfortable - kind of like an inn feeling. This hotel is in a great location! Close to St. Isaac's Cathedral, The Hermitage, The Admiralty, Winter Palace, and Nevsky Prospekt (the main avenue in St. Petersburg). Everything is expensive in the summer, but compared to other room rates the Comfort Hotel was VERY reasonable! Also, I walk with a cane and was very relieved that the elevator worked well! (The hotel is actually located on the 2nd and 3rd floors of a building - our room being on the 3rd floor.) We had a really nice stay at the Comfort Hotel and we will likely be return customers! It's a great place for all of us on a budget! Thank you, Comfort Hotel, for making our stay so nice!!! Hi Irina - you're wonderful!

Great little hotel in the heart of St. Petersburg. Friendly staff. The hotel is old, but has a lot of character. The rooms are quant and fairly updated. Only problem was the shower being cold one night!! Overall, I would recommend the place.
