Hotel Gattapone - Spoleto

Suddenly it was broken a cover lamp and there wasn't an accurately cleaning of the room.

Our room had dual aspect overlooking a wooded hillside , the Rocca and Ponte della Torre in a very quiet location which was just wonderful. Lots of antique furniture throughout. Satelite TV would have been nice, all we got was CNN news! The mixer shower in the bathroom was a little disappointing as were the repetative breakfasts. We felt that the 4 stars were earned only by the view and that it was overpriced for what you got. Saying that, Spoleto was fabulous and the restaurants good quality. Try Ristorante Apollinare for an outstanding meal.

Location is breathtaking, but be prepared to have a pretty uphill walk home if you decide to go into the town center. Air conditioning was not very good, despite being moved to another room at our request.

Lovely little hotel, with a truly spectacular view of the ponte di due torre ... definitely recommended highly, and we would certainly stay there again if we re-visit Spoleto.

The Gattapone has the best location in Spoleto overlooking the Ponte delle Torri. Our rooms were very spacious and comfortable with great views. The staff was helpful in lending us a laptop computer and in providing suggestions for restaurants and nearby day trips. Due to it's great location, the hotel is difficult to reach by car. The map on the website provides regional information only and no directions on how to reach the hotel once in Spoleto.

Loved out stay here -- the only difficulty was in locating it for the first time as we drove into Spoleto. But once the car was parked we just walked through the town and enjoyed everything. The view from our window over the aquaduct was amazing -- and all was perfect.

The hotel should not be rated a 4 stars, 2-3 max. The location is not bad but there is little parking available if you drive in. The hotel is dated and needs an update to compete with the other hotels we stayed at in Italy. The views from the hotel and the surrounding area are excellent and your close to the centers of town. The continental breakfast is OK at best, again not comparable in quality to other hotels we stayed at.

Wonderful hotel with great views. Town of Spoleto is charming, although be aware it is covered in scaffolding.

What a wonderful hotel! We booked a superior room so we had bay windows overlooking the aqueduc, a sitting room and a bed area. The bathroom had vintage tiles and tabs; we got breakfast served in bed; the staff recommended an excellent restaurant in the vicinity where we stuffed ourselves with truffles.... so I rated this hotel excellent throughout. A great find.

Very good location because of view of bridge and away from main thoroughfares. The old part of Spoleto is so small that one is not trading quietness of the property with distance from the action. Seeing the illuminated cross on the adjacent hill, upon arrival on a foggy night, from the room was cool! Room was pretty good. Bathroom was a littled tired and dated, usual (for Italy) loose toilet seat, etc. I would stay there again for sure. Price may have been a tad high for single traveler in off-season.

We had a wonderful stay at the Gattapone. A great location for walking to sights and fantastic views. We would go back in a heartbeat!

This is the second time staying at the Hotel Gattapone, excellent service and great location.

The Gattapone has a wonderful location overlooking the Ponte delle Torre. Our room was very spacious and extremely quiet, making for a very pleasant stay. The staff was quite helpful. The only downside is that the hotel is probably the most difficult to reach in Spoleto, requiring winding through narrow streets throughout town to reach the hilltop location. Things were fairly quiet when we were there in late May, but it would probably be rather difficult to negotiate during the height of the summer tourist season.

Location is amazing. Highly recommend this property. View of aquaduct is sensational.

The hotel and the surroundings are simply magic. The car access to the hotel has been recently modified. You have to cross the city centrum which is a traffic limited zone, following the indications. If stopped by the police tell them you have a reservation.
