Hotel Athena - Spoleto

Great welcome at Athena- glass of wine , smiles and map of local area. plus a complimentary piece of delicious cake when we had coffees in the great outdoor seating area. Only small issue was we got cold (early Oct) could have had some heating in our room early morning and evening, but bed comfortable and warm. Recommend the Athena highly! Thanks for great stay. The small pizza restaurant across the roundabout serves excellent food. Great hill walks on far side of the viaduct if you want views and feel energetic.

Very friendly hosts and clean rooms.

The hotel is some distance from the station and you need to take a bus.It is convenient for the old town but be warned everything is up steep slopes. The room was comfortable and the bed was very comfortable. Pity the jacuzzi bath didn't work.

I was interested in medieval constructions in Spoleto.There is a small,clean,simple hotel with exelent location.The Host doesn't speak English,but smiling and made good cofee. The Hostess speaks Russian.

I thought it was excellent value. my only complaint would be noise from nearby traffic but i was too tired notice it very much. it was very clean, comfortable bed. abit hard to find from the map i had. more specific directions would be helpful.

Albergo economico, praticamente non si può fare colazione, comunque in buona posizione, subito fuori dal centro storico.

The location of the hotel is optimal. No restaurant in the Hotel. In Spoleto for my wife and myself the Osteria dell'Enoteca, Via Saffi 7, is excellent.

The structure is really nice, in a new building and the room was very clean. It's not in real center of Spoleto but it takes 5 minutes on foot to reach the tapis-roulant that takes you directly to Piazza della Libertà, so in 10 minutes you can be there. The price is really low for the kind of accomodation, I would reccommend it for sure. Struttura molto carina, un edificio nuovo o ristrutturato da poco e la nostra stanza molto pulita così come gli altri spazi. In 5 minuti a piedi si raggiunge il tapis-roulant che porta in centro in altri 5 minuti, in piazza della libertà. Rapporto qualità/prezzo ottimo! Ritornerei molto volentieri.

CONSIGLIATO. ECONOMICO COMODO E PULITO.

This was the first time I stayed at Hotel Athena and, while the room was clean and spacious, the surroundings of the Hotel left much to be desired. The hotel carpark is accessible with difficulty through a narrow opening. The road leading to it is degraded. And my first impression was conditioned by the note listing the "do nots" which guests find in their room. Aside from the fact that it was written in very poor English, guests are immediately told that they cannot wash clothing in the room, eat in the room, introduce any drinks in the room .... unenforceable prohibitions which any guest will disobey

A lovely little hotel ,very clean,very quiet and very close to the centre of a beautiful town.we had a room on the groundfloor,giving on to a little garden/paved area.a most pleasant stay.

The hotel is convenient for the town although a good walk from the station. We had some trouble initially finding it as the street was not on any of our maps. The room was clean and pleasant but there were no other indoor facilities.

The only thing which lets down Hotel Athena is the complete frostyness of the staff, who "welcome" their guests with blank stares and a refusal to make an effort to breach the language gap or offer any assistance. The room we had however was perfectly nice, and the hotel is only a short walk from the centre of the charming town.

Excellent choose for a budgeted stay in Spoleto.

Good place to stay in Spoleto, for the price. The old town is easily accessible and it's about a 25 minute walk to the train station. Will go back.

This is a good place to stay if you are not looking for luxury accommodation. The rooms are very clean and quite large, and it is only a 10 minute walk (albeit uphill) to the old town centre. The rooms are pretty good value for money.

Nice and very clean room. The hotel is situated on an excellent location to visit Spoleto and surroundings, public parking in front of the hotel. Breakfast however is very very poor.

A beautiful little place in one of the most enjoyable lovely townships we visited in Italy - Spoletto. The young lady at the recieption desk spoke very good English and that in itself was invaluable.

The hotel is situated on the outskirts of Assisi, in the midst of olive groves. My room was quite small, but tidy - the bathroom featured a shower without tub or shower curtain, thus the whole bath was flooded after taking a shower. Unfortunately, throughout the night a generator/compressor was starting up frequently, the main noise source in the otherwise quiet countryside. The breakfeast consisted of toast and croissants out of plastic wrappers, the coffee, however, was excellent. The chairs and recliners at the pool offer a great view of the countryside.

Hotel is off a busy road, so can be a bit noisy at night. No A/C in rooms during hot times of yr. Owner was a little standoffish/rude.
