Hotel Villa Marjela - Split

The hotel and the service provided is perfect but it's very diffucult to find it because it's surrounded by high buildings and trees. It should be better, if you arrive by car, to have a GPS system. It's very quiet and pleasant.

We loved this hotel. The staff were very helpful and efficient and the rooms are clean, comfortable and well-appointed. It may seem that the hotel is a bit outside the main part of town, but it is really easy to find and the walk downtown is no distance at all. It would be very convenient for people arriving by car, who wish to visit the downtown on foot. But it was fine for us, too, arriving by ferry from Ancona, since we weren't over-burdened with luggage. The hotel is located not far from the bus station,from which trips can be made to Trogir and Salona, nor from the beach.

Room telephones should be installed. We had some problems with messages not reaching us.

The hotel was spotless (and I mean that), the bathroom really nice and the bedroom was basic but very pretty too. Staff was friendly and helpful. The only downside we found is that the hotel is situated in the middle of a big group of derelict buildings and we didn't feel very safe going into the area. On the other hand, if you don't mind the area, you are really only 10/15 minutes walk to the harbour and it is a cheaper option than some hotels in the center.
