Hotel Slavija - Split
Buvinina 2 - Split
877-662-6988Located in the heart of the old medieval town of Split, the Slavija Hotel is a few steps from the former Diocletian Emperor's Palace. Both Holiday Hotel Slavija Split and the Diocletian Emperor's Palace are listed on the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage list and are protected as International monuments of culture. The history of this Croatian Split 3 star hotel can be traced as far back as the 16th and early 17th centuries. Today it is still possible to see traces of the hotel's past, such as the Renaissance staircase inside the property.
This Croatian 3 star hotel, housed in a 17th century building is a valuable example of renaissance architecture. The complex is the right choice for business and leisure travelers alike. The hotel is situated within walking distance of the main popular tourist attractions, the bus terminal, the railway station and the ferry terminal. Walking through the winding streets of what was the old Roman Diocletian Palace, it is very interesting to see the locals mingle with tourists in this historical area. Just a couple of blocks from the Riva waterfront promenade you will feel like you are stepping into a picture perfect postcard when you stay in the Hotel Slavija Split in Crotia.
Living piece of history! Split is 17 hundred years old city and situated on the Adriatic coast. The diversity of Split is its greatest advantage. No matter how old or what are your interests you will not be bored in this city. One of the sites loved by young and old is the Diocletian Roman Palace, situated just a stone's throw away from Split's Slavija Hotel. Built by Roman emperor Diocletian in 300 A.D. Within the walls of the ancient Palace there are many shops and restaurants and plenty of things to interest people who are curious about Croatian Culture. There is a museum in the basement of the Palace with lots of interesting paintings. But the highlight of a visit is definitely the structure of the Palace itself.
Island hopping! One of the most popular things to do while on holiday in Split or in Croatia for that matter is visit one of its many islands. The island of Brac in particular is a popular destination with tourists. Situated in the Adriatic sea and just off the coast from Split. The island of Brac is the largest island in Dalmatia and the third largest in the Adriatic Sea. It can also boast as having the highest point in the Adriatic Sea , with its mountain Vidova Gora standing 778 meters high. Just a short 45 minute boat ride from Split harbor the island welcomes visitors with open arms. The sandy tongue or golden rat beach is a little slice of heaven in the Adriatic and is the perfect place to kick back and relax during your trip. There are plenty of sandy coves and inlets to go snorkeling. The island also has many shops and restaurants scattered along its shore line that are ideal for sampling some of the fresh sea food that the island is famously known for.
Gtrst atmosphere; located in what was once Diocletian's palace. Difficult to find, but locals very helpful. Woman at desk charming and friendly. Good restaurant reco...

Gtrst atmosphere; located in what was once Diocletian's palace. Difficult to find, but locals very helpful. Woman at desk charming and friendly. Good restaurant recommendation. Close to everything. Cafe below us a bit noisy (just talk, no traffic) but this added to the atmosphere. Must be able to climb some stairs.

I think for €130 you should get a better quality room, hospitality and breakfast. The reception personal were rude and unhelpful when asked a simple question about boat times - which you think they would know since they are in the port!! also breakfast wasn't fit for a consumption!! I will sure to NEVER recommend this hotel!!

Lovely place in the middle of the Diocletian Palace area. Lively, interesting, beautiful surroundings - what a great place to stay. Not for those robo-tourists that always stay at Marriotts or other American chain hotels! Great for the young or young-at-heart. Split is ugly until you get to the Diocletian Palace area and then it is wonderful - don't miss it!

Arrived here at Midnight on Saturday . This hotel is based in the very Centre and we had to make our way through 100s of people who were partying on the narrow streets outside the hotel. We Would not have been able to find this hotel on our own. We Were met at reception by a grumpy old man who plainly was not happy with the thought of two men sharing a double bed, we had to haul our cases up 2 flights of stairs to the room . The Breakfast the following morning in a tiny cafateria was awful. The lady who checked us out was very helpful and nice The Hotel is clean but sparse and close to everything I have stayed in worse but also much much better.
