I booked a junior suite and was lucky to get the only room with a terrace, which overlooked the valley.....a fabulous view. The hotel is a converted building, so all of the rooms are configured slightly differently. The suite had a small sitting room with one upholstered chair, a desk, and a desk chair. This room opened onto the terrace, which had a small table and two chairs on a brick terrace. The bathroom was very roomy with a jacuzzi tub, and the bedroom was more than adequate with a large wardrobe, a small TV, and a mini-fridge. Francis and Greta at the front desk were very friendly and accomodating, and were helpful with restaurant recommendations, wine glasses, etc. The hotel includes free parking in a public lot across the street; the hotel staff provides a parking pass to display in the windshield. Breakfast is very abundant, with fresh and canned fruits, yogurt, homemade cakes and pastries, sliced meats and cheeses, as well as cappucino, espresso, tea, etc.

THe location was brilliant, the service provided by reception was excellent and the room was amongst the best we had stayed in. The only drawback was that, in March, there is a lcak of restaurants at which to eat. This is not the fault oif the Hotel. We will be taking small tiour groups to stay there based on our experiences

A charming hotel in a wonderful little city. There are many nice restaurants and walking about is a pleasure unto itself. Once tourists leave for the day, it is heavenly in Spello!

The hotel was wonderful, something right out of the past. The hotel staff were very friendly and had advice on where to eat. Right across the street was the hotel's restaurant and about four doors away was a wonderful wine bar that provided a wine tasting experience that was an experience not to miss.

By car:
From Florence: take the A1 motorway towards Rome and exit at Val di Chiana. Then take the state highway S327 and then the SS 75Bis to Perugia. Proceed towards Assisi-Foligno and exit at Spello.
From Rome: take the A1 motorway towards Florence and exit at Orte. Then take the state highway S 204 to the junction with the E45. Proceed in the direction of Todi-Perugia, then continue towards Assisi-Foligno and exit at Spello.

By train
From Spello railway station take Via Guglielmo Marconi and then turn right onto Via Centrale Umbra. Turn left onto Via Roma, then right onto Via Consolare and reach Via Cavour, where the hotel is situated.

By airplane
The Perugia S.Egidio airport is 12.4/20 km miles away from the hotel and Rome Fiumicino airport 127.4 miles/205 km is away from the hotel.
