The place is lovable, and in a small town, far from other houses and there is a great quietness. We stayed for 3 days, visiting surrounding towns. The double room was very large and clean, also with a large bathroom. A great choice in the breakfast. The employees were really kind and professional. A particular greeting to Kim, a sweet dog we met there with a very soft ears. Certainly we will return for other days in the future. Thanks for all !

This hotel and its' surroundings are like heaven on earth. It was so beautiful and peaceful, it was spectacular.

wonderful staying during two nights. Close to Siena about 15 minutes driving, small town stigliano is very nice and quiet, with a very good restaurant. Very good welcoming at reception desk, they are very helpful and available in providing any information. Breakfast is very good and served on terrace in summer, this is wonderful. We strongly recommend this hotel and we will return in next trip in Toscana

In tiny pretty village not far from Sienna. Only place to eat is a very nice looking restaurant. The food is supposed to be excellent. We went there to book on the afternoon of our arrival but they were fully booked. NO WHERE ELSE! So Moira (she's Italian a very commited member of staff and delightful) ran us to nearby Rosia where we ate at a perfectly competant pizza pasta place. SO BOOK THE RESTAURANT WHEN YOU BOOK YOUR ROOM. THE HOTEL SHOULD ASK ALL GUESTS IF THEY WISH THIS DONE! A TAXI FROM SIENNA WAS QUOTED AS €100 FOR THE ROUND TRIP HOTEL-ROSIA-HOTEL, AND THIS WAS THE ONLY WAY TO GET FOOD. OWNERS DON'T WORK THERE SO ALL WORK IS DONE BY TOO FEW STAFF WHO DO THEIR BEST! THIS IS A 4 STAR HOTEL. We arrived after a 40km bike ride at 15.30 and didn't get into our rooms until over an hour later. For some reason they wouldn't make up the rooms out of turn! The pool is unheated and in glorious weather in May was only 15C degrees but this isn't unusual in southern Europe. This is a very pretty hotel and location. Interiors especially the rooms are excellent but the edged of the property and gardens need work. It has been opened 4 years but there is an unmade rutted track to it. Lawned edges to the pool area uncut long grass, and half finished small building projects that appear to have been left a long time. Breakfasts are good, we ate out on the terrace. So - good rooms, comfortable beds, nice bathrooms decor interior/exterior charming. Nice views of other restored buildings and green aspects (this is a smart village with a lot of restored houses and that's why the village restaurant is of a good standard.) Unless you have a car don't turn up on Mondays as the restaurant is closed and book ahead on other days. This was a one night stay and you couldn't have asked for a quieter hotel.

Beautiful room with a wonderful view in lovely surroundings with very helpful staff. The pool was clean but very cold. Breakfast fine but not as good as that supplied in other accommodation we stayed in. First class restaurant in the village of Stigliano. A really good location to explore the area.

Apart from getting lost on the way there (our own fault), this place was fantastic. If serenity and excellent food is what you are after, then look no further. Just meander down the dirt road on foot to one of the best restaurants in Tuscany. That's all there really is in Stigliano and obviously you would need your own transport if you wish to get about. The staff were so wonderful and helpful to us and the rooms were clean with modern amenities. The bed was a little hard however. The only issue I had was the loud American tourists... don't they have a volume button somewhere?

This place is a great deal! The staff is so friendly and helpful! Moira is great. Nice clean rooms (tile floors might be cold in the winter). Our room was large but, not a suite (there are two rooms that are larger). Very nice views. Pool and public areas were very clean. Breakfast on the terrace was very tasty. Location is very convenient to Siena, Montalcino, Montepulciano, and less than an hour from Chianti region. Overall, really great. Very minor things to improve: * No internet access from hotel when we stayed Aug 2006). (Strange, as I found the hotel via internet.) * Map to hotel could use some improvement. (If you arrive here in the dark, signs from within Stigliano are not obvious.) * Directions on website are OK. I suggest getting a native English speaker to drive the roads to the location and then, to work on the text a little bit. * Be a little more liberal with the free shampoo in the bathroom.

we found the hotel staff extremely helpful and friendly, and they always had a smile. Although the hotel does not have a restaurant we lunched there once and had an excellent meal. The restaurants in Stigliano and nearby villages are excellent. A very pleasant stay in beautiful surroundings

The room was spacious, very quiet, and clean. The staff was very helpful (we lost a credit card and had to call credit card company) with getting us help and as an italian intrepetor. She also helped pick a wonderful restaurant for dinner.
