This Hotel is in a nice location, in a very small isolated Italian village. The Hotel reconverted an old property and did a good job of maintaining the original spirit. Our apartment was right in front of the pool and had a nice view. The service was acceptable, although you shouldnote that this is really not a "Hotel" in teh traditional sense, so, for instance, there's no room service, the reception closes at midnight, etc. My main problem with this place was advertising it as a 4 star facility. Its a 3 star, with 2 star bathrooms. The rooms are spacious, but a bit worn out and the bathrooms are simply disgusting: old, cheap, full of mold, rusty.

This place is a gem. We stayed 10 years ago and have been planning to return ever since, so we were thrilled to go this year and to discover that we'd been given the largest suite at no additional charge. The surroundings are stunning, the staff are warm and accommodating. I hope it stays just like this forever -- and I hope we can return sooner than 10 years from now!

Oh, I love it. With a good map you'll find it at 43N17.767' 11E14.672' near Sovicille. Located in the wineyards you can have a great breakfast from the terrace with a view to the hills 2km away. There is no other noise than some birds, some cicadas and perhaps the coffe cup of another guest -- I never found a quieter place. I didn't even hear the other guests during the night. With the car you are in Siena in about half an hour, or you can visit the great landscape, but you really need need a car. The hotel's pool invites you to relax with a direct view to the dark grapes. If I had the money, I'd stay there every year ;-)

This place is gorgeous! The staff was most helpful. There are only 10 rooms, and 22 chaise lounges around the lovely pool. The breakfast is unsurpassed and served on a beautiful balcony overlooking a garden and vineyards and flowers as far as you can see. Very romantic, quiet place. Only quibbles -- the air conditioning is not what we know in the US (we went in August), rather just cold water cooling the fins that the air passes over, and there are no screens on the windows (why?) so if you open them at night to let in cool air, some bugs may come in attracted to the light in the room. The refrigerator is tightly packed with overpriced beverages, but you can pull a few out and cool your bottled water overnight, then return them in the daytime. All told, the place is a great value (friends staying in the area paid twice as much for equivalent accommodations), and my husband and I recommend it highly. Bathroom and shower are very nice. It is also easy to get to from main highways, about 15 minutes from Siena, and about 90 minutes from Florence by car.

This was our first time in Italy, nevermind the area of Tuscany. The Hotel was a perfect introduction to the area, set in a beautiful valley not far from Siena. Truly peacefull, stunning surroundings, friendly staff and good restaurants in the locality. We would go back again. It was great value for money and a fantastic holiday. Martin Cooper

We stayed at Relais Borgo di Toiano during our visit to Italy at the end of May 2005. Our experience was fantastic. The hotel is located in a little valley 7km outside of Siena, very convient for anyone driving through Tuscany. The rooms were clean, the best being those facing the pool. Breakfast on the patio is both relaxing and was varied and delicious. Their recommandation for Dinner down the lane at a local family restuarant was excellent, we ate there both nights. I would highly recommend this Hotel to anyone wanting a relaxing place to stay while visiting Siena.

A very relaxing and enjoyable stay in a quiet rural setting but close enough to villages and Siena to drive out for some sight seeing or an evening meal.

This was a hugely enjoyable break for myself and my wife. It was the first time we had been to Tuscany and we will certainly return in the future. The hotel was perfect and the staff were very helpful and pleasant. Mille graci for a perfect holiday.
