A great location, ideal for walking to the shops, restaurants and port.Parking space is a little tight though and suitable only for small cars.Go to the Foreigners Club for a drink on the terrace and a great view.

This has to be *the* place to stay in Sorrento. The location is quiet and an easy walk to the centre of the town or station. The rooms are of a very high standard with a compact but fairly well equiped kitchen area, suitable for simple cooking. The staff at reception were very helpful and most welcoming. There are a couple of small bars very close by along with some small food shops, including a great delicatessen which sells really nice cheese and ham, plus some of the local "anonymously" labelled sparkling wine. Pompeii and Herculaneum are easily reached by the local train service and both are very close to their respective stations. You can get a local excursion to the top of Vesuvius from a small firm by the station at Herculeum. Overall this was a great place to stay, with much more flexibility and more space than you would find in a hotel AND the price was very reasonable.

Fist time at this property, but third time in Sorrento. Convenient location but not too much noise from traffic. About 7 - 8 minutes from the station which we used for visits to Pompeii etc. Good quality pull out bed in main room separated by sliding door from bedroom. Friendly and helpful staff.

We were so impressed with the Rota Suites that we extended our stay by 2 nights. After 3 weeks in Italy the English TV and being able to prepare meals was great.

The staff was wonderful...the room, a bit too big for 2 people and only a few days. 'Would like to go back with my whole family!! Re-encountering Sorrento was particularly delightful.

This was our first trip to the Rota Suites in Sorrento and we were very happy with the accommodation, it's location and price. The three roomed apartment is perfect for a family of 5. It is quite central, only a 10 minute stroll to the main square with its many restaurants, shops and ice cream parlours! The only things that could have been better are: 1, if the apartment had been cleaned every day (even at an additional cost)instead of just once during our week long stay and 2, if there was a pool on site. We did take advantage of the pool in a nearby hotel (for an extra charge). Overall, the Rota Suites were excellent.

This hotel was very pleasant. We had plenty of space and a wonderfully large balcony. The staff was friedly and grocery stores were nearby. The only small complaint is that although there was cleaning only once during the week, there was no equipment for self-cleaning (washcloth, broom...) available in the room. Keeping the kitchen and floors tidy with toilet-paper was a little frustrating.

We stayed in a 1 bedroom suite. This was the first hotel we stayed at on our the first part of our first visit to Italy. We don't speak Italian nor know the country well and the staff at Rota Suites made it very easy for us to get to know where and how to get around. In particular Rafaella and Guiseppe are terrific!

The Rota Suites are a fantastic place to stay if you are wanting to explore nearly Pompeii, Vesuvius, Herculaneum etc. The apartments are located very close to the main square of Sorrento (where there is lots going on of an evening time), as well as to the bus & train station (worth using to get around on). The apartments are very spacious and clean and the staff are very friendly & helpful. If you are on a tight budget, the kitchen is very well equipped, so a visit to one of the local supermarkets would make self-catering a very easy option (the local unlabelled red wine is extremely nice and less than €3 a bottle!). There is loads to do in Sorrento and we will definitely be returning (and highly likely to stay again at the Rota Suites).

Following recomemndations in venere.com we picked this hotel and it's as good as described here! An excellent and recommended choise - this facility has a style yet warm athmosphere, all of the stuff is most welcoming, fluent in English and helpful. Family room (an appartment actually) is extremely modern, specious and clean. It's quiet and a short walking distnace to the center of town and the rail station. Ferry's dock is also reachable by foot (~30min). A few min walk away are a supermarket and kiosks which are open late as well as a coffee bar about around the corner. In room kitchen was fully equiped to our basic needs and modern. Hotel parking was avialble at an extra cost of Euro 10 per day. Only thing we found a bit disturbing is the traffic in and out of Sorrento when we chose to pick the car to explore the region - it goes rather slow, but on the other hand Sorrento is very nice and centerally located between Napoli and Amalphy coast, Capri island etc. It was yet bit cold outside, so we didn't check how close is the beach and pool at nearby hotel. I highly recomemnd this facility with no hesitation to families traveling with kids (even older) and others!

We have just spent a very enjoyable 8 days in Sorrento. The Rota Suites are in an excellent location for accessing public transport and it took only a few minutes to walk to the nearest supermarket. We were able to get to the buses and trains at Sorrento station easily and spent some great days out in the surrounding area. Our apartment was very good and had all we needed for a self catering stay, but with the added advantage of room cleaning and change of linen and towels. I would definitely stay there again and would recommend the Rota Suites to my friends and family.

We travelled with our 18 month old baby and found the apartment clean, convenient and very well priced. Front desk staff were present most of time and were very helpful. Don't expect daily cleaning of rooms - towels and garbage were not attended to once during 3 day stay. We had a 'beach view' room which was noisy (road beneath) but view of orange groves and small slither of water in the distance was nice. About a 10 min walk into the central area of town, all amenities very closeby. We would stay there again.

Rota Suites were fantastic to stay in. We had two double apartments with a connecting door (we are a family of 4) and just loved the space and the clean modern decore. Mario was fantastically helpful and when a bad toothache threatened to spoil our holiday, arranged an appointment at a local dentist for me. He could not have done more for us and I can totally recommend the Rota suites. We were not there in summer, so cannot comment as a venue for a beach type holiday, but for a stay in Sorrento, it was perfect.

We have enjoyed our stay at Rota Suites. The location is good, very near to shops, station and bus stops. Rooms are clean and very modern, we wnet in October, therefore we did not have to open the windows a lot therefore noise was not an issue. Giuseppe was very helpful with information. Internet link was slow sometimes but OK for short use. All in all an enjoyable experience.

Re Quality of Service: we would have expected daily service (new towels, floor brushing(no brushes supplied to DIY), even bed-making) - only the kitchen bin was emptied daily Re Location: Mainly our fault as it was not apparent fron site the "drill down" feature of the map which was of little benefit to printed copy. All in all, these were minor irritations - the suites and facilities were EXCELLENT - surpassing our expectations by far!

Very modern unit with fantastic fittings. It is only a fairly short flat walk from the centre of town with nearby shops making it easy to self cater. The main bedroom is very spacious and our two children shared a sofa bed in the living room. We thoroughly enjoyed our 4 night stay here with us making day trips to Pompeii, Capri, Herculaneum and Mt Vesuvius using public transport.

We loved our stay at the Rota Suites in Sorrento - what a find! The rooms are spacious, clean and new with 2 TV's (sitting and bed rooms), SKY and wireless internet capabilities and basic equipment for meals. The location was quiet (double glazed windows)and close to the station and main "drag" without being too close. Guiseppe was a fountain of information and so very welcoming - a far cry from the Hotel Galles in Rome which we had just left and which I would not recommend to anyone. The king size bed was very comfortable and the bathroom (with bath and bidet) was fantastic. Food supplies were readily available in neighbouring shops and the supermarket was only a few minutes walk. I think that we ate the best pizza ever at Pizzeria da Franco in the main street, where patrons were spilling out of the door every night.

We stayed at The Rota Suites for one week. It is a modern, de luxe property and the suites are very well thought out in terms of design, and very well equipped. Cleaning was included twice a week (I do think that for the price we paid it should have been done more frequently). Parking is quite expensive - €10 per day. We were able to use the pool or the "beach" (not really a beach - just a boardwalk with a little bar and sunbeds and deckchairs) at the nearby hotel. It costs €6 per day, and for an additional €6 you can get a sunbed instead of a deckchair. Because there is no sand or beach, this is not really suitable for children. Great for swimming however. The Rota Suites are in a good location for walking around Sorrento - just 5 minutes walk from the centre.

The incessant noise of the scooters and cars driving past the hotel got to me at some point. That is the only negative I would have about the place. We were there for a week with an 8 months old baby and everything was done for us to be comfortable and happy. The attention to detail is great, the apartments are spacious and clean. Giuseppe is lovely and very helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

Excellent place for families : my children were very happy and found the rooms wonderful. The center of Sorrente is about 10mn by feet and you can do it easily every night to have dinner in town. The train station is 5mn by feet and you easily join Pompei (20mn and 3€) and Naples by train.

We (2 adults and our 2-year-old son) stayed in the Rota Suites for 4 Nights in October 06. The rooms werde very spacious, clean and furnished in a very upmarket style. Everything was in excellent condition and the manager Guiseppe was most helpful. Forget the negative remarks in one of the other reviews - it is absolutely impossible to imagine that Guiseppe treated any guest badly or was not welcoming and helpful! The location is pretty central, it is an easy walk of roughly 15-20 minutes to the city center. A supermarket is about 300 m. away. Consider leaving your car at home since Sorrento is the perfect place to organise trips to the Amalfi Coast (by boat or by bus), Capri, Pompeii (the Circumvesuviana Train Station is about 10 mins. away (on foot)) or Naples. The Roty Suites are a little gem and we have no hesitation whatsoever to recommend this place for your stay in Sorrento!

rota suites were clean and modern and in a fiarly quiet location (although all Sorrento suffers from terrible and dangerous traffic- what are the rules at crossings? Everyman for himself?)but our suite at the side of the building had views over shops opposite, a front appartment would have been nicer. Only complaint was a suite booked for four was essentially a one bedroomed appartment divided by a folding door from a kitchen with a sofa bed. It was very tasteful but I would book a four to six people appartment in future to ensure privacy. This would probably cost as much as a hotel. Rota suites are excellent value, very clean and beautifully appointed but as the spectacular views are the main faeture of Sorrento for me I don't think I would return. Spoilt by Hotel Grand Vesuvio last year which was fully booked.

We are a couple in our 60s and wanted accommodation in Sorrento that was easy to get to from the railway station and within easy access of the main attractions in Sorrento. Rota Suites couldn't have been better on both these counts. The suites were an easy 10 min walk from the railway station and an easy 15 min walk to the centre of Sorrento. There was an extensive supermarket a few minutes away and the suites were in a quiet area of the town. Guiseppe the manager was so helpful and charming and the apartments themselves, very comfortable, modern and well equipped. We thoroughly enjoyed our time in Sorrento and wouldn't hestitate to recommend this accommodation.

Family of 3 in Sorrento in May, 2006. Rota Suites is the picture of modern Italian style. Our suite was very impressive, roomy, and filled with conveniences. If you wanted to make meals, you could, but Sorrento's restaurants are a 10-minute walk away. Making your own breakfast is nice, but there's a good bar with great coffee and cornetti around the corner. We had a fine view of the Bay of Naples, Vesuvius, and the lemon/cherry/grape/tomato garden across the street (every square metre under cultivation). As many reviewers have said, the staff are excellent: they answered all our questions and did many little favours for us. The hotel has paid parking (which is at a premium in Sorrento). It is a 5-minute walk from the train station, where you can board the Circumvesuviana for Naples, Herculaneum (my favourite) or Pompeii; this little commuter train is inexpensive and punctual.

This hotel was a very nice facility, and suited our needs as far as spaciousness and sleeping arrangements as we had 10 people in our party. The apartment concept worked great for us and gave us room to spread out. The hotel was very clean and well decorated, with a great bathroom, and very quiet despite being right on a pretty busy street. The downsides to this hotel were that the front desk man, Giseppie, was not very helpful at all, and actually was quite condescending to all of us. Whenever we needed a question answered, help finding a good place to eat, help operating the laundry facilities, etc, he did not smile, but rather looked over his glasses at us and just glared, and then would answer with a very short comment. Also, we were excited to finally have a hotel that had internet services, yet the entire time we were there (3 days), the service was not working. Finally, the hotel was a little bit out of the way from the main part of town, which probably brought the price down a little, but was a little inconvenient, as we did not want to drive in Sorrento. Even though the facilities were great, I doubt if we would want to stay there again, mainly because of the lack of hospitality and friendly service.

Excellent accommodation at a very good price and in a good location (15 minutes walk on the flat to main square ) - had booked one apartment to sleep 6 adults and actually got 2 adjoining apartments with double the facilities we expected. The reception even arranged our taxi to the airport at short notice and was more than helpful. Only downside was traffic noise at front of apartment block and broken shutter which was reported on arrival but not fixed when we left. Overall, we had a great stay in these beautiful apartments and would use them again if we return to Sorrento.

We have just returned from a five day stay in Sorrento staying at the Rota Suites. The location is excellent, with just a short walk to the main square. The Rota suites were a perfect place to stay in Sorrento, near the centre, close to the train, bus and boat. The owner, Guiseppe, was very helpfull and kind. The Rota suites are appartments, so you can cook your own meal. They are beatifully designed and the furnish is very elegant. The noise of the traffic, although the glass is isolated, is the only point of critism, there are simply too many scooters in Sorrento. I recommend this place to anybody.

This property was excellent. It is clean, modern and convenient for touring the Sorrento Penninsula and the Amalfie coast. Our family felt as if we were recieving the full measure of our tourist investment with this property. Actually, we were ready to return to America after our week in Rome. Our week in Sorrento revitalized our spirits and made us want to stay for more. We found the availability of cooking facilities and a good grocery store cut our food bills by 80%! Our only criticism was that one had to pay for internet service. This should be included for guests.

We have stayed in several different places in Italy on a 3 week holiday and this was by far the best. Spotless accommodation which seemed brand new and to a very high standard. Reception staff were friendly, helpful (eg with directions to the nearest supermarket, Capo di Sorrento and how to use the washing machine and tumble dryer) and spoke good English. We had a small suite and it was great for us with two children - the kitchen facilities were outstandingly clean and trendy, hidden behind a wall of light wood doors. Kitchen utensils, pans, etc were so new that the price labels were still on some of them.It is the only place we have ever stayed in 20 years of holidays where we felt it unnecessary to wash anything before first using it in the kitchen. We almost stayed in Naples until reading a review on this website and we are so glad we stayed here instead. Sorrento is a very pleasant town and although the Rota Suites are about 5 minutes from the station (10 mins to town centre) it is an easy walk with a supermarket about 2 mins away and much closer than lots of other hotels especially ones going towards the Capo di Sorrento. We had a view of orange groves from our room (all have a balcony) albeit with a car park in front of it, rooms on the other side overlook the road. There is basically no beach in Sorrento for small children but bathing platforms and plenty of places to swim and some great restaurants. You can use the Circumvesuviana for quite cheap day trips to Pompeii (30 mins), Herculaneum (45 mins) and Naples (1 hour). I would not recommend going to Naples to anyone with small children. we went to the archeological museum and all the signs on display were only in Italian while we almost walked into a street full of drug addicts!

i stayed in rota suites with eight friends aged 28 to 39 and had a lovely time. the apartments are clean, very modern, spacious and exellent condition. guiseppe was great, kind and very helpful. the location is perfact as it is within walking distance of town and the beach. i would reccomend this property as they are in great condition and make ur stay very comfy. the only disdvantage is that it is self catering so u have to get everything (ie coffee, milk, salt etc etc)even though u get all the dishes etc and towels are a problem as they are not replaced daily and cleaning is an extra charge but to be honest non of these things make a difference as this is a great place and if i ever went back to sorrento i would stay here! especially reccomended for families due to space and locality!and price too!

This was a very nice facility, clean and modern, with everything needed for a pleasant stay. It is on a busy street, however, and the motor noise made it unpleasant to sit on the balcony. The noise did not enter the apartment however so did not disrupt sleep at all. It is several blocks from the main part of town, but very walkable, and an easy walk to the train station. We would stay here again.

The property was excellent and offered excellent facilities - clean, modern, airy, everything we wanted/needed. Guiseppe on reception was particularly helpful and welcoming. However, there are good points and bad points as regards the location of the property. Good points: Piazza Tasso is within easy walking distance and there is a lovely lemon/orange grove at the end of the road. Bad point: We had a great room and were initially very pleased with our two balconies - one had a view of the sea and Vesuvius! However, the constant traffic - which is extremely noisy in Sorrento due to the scooters, tour buses, etc. - meant that sitting on the balconies was really no pleasure at all. Even with the windows closed you can still hear the traffic. Whilst it did not keep us awake at night - unfortunately, the noise was a major issue for us. I dare say Guiseppe would have moved us if we'd asked - but we felt that the only quiet rooms would have been at the back of the property which overlooked the car park and this did not appeal to us. All in all a great property, but beware of the traffic noise.

I found the property very easily. I was very surprised at the quality of the furnishings in our accomadation. Everything was very new and very clean. Cleaning service is available at a reasonable cost, we found it unnecessary.Well worth the money.

The Suites were a wonderful find - right in the heart of Sorrento, and an excellent facility for travelling with a young child.
