Hotel Villa Margherita - Sant'Agnello, Sorrento

The help by the staff was excellent. They gave us every bit of information we needed about the area. They even made several phonecalls to check out information. Very good!!

I really enjoyed my stay at villa Margherita. The family were very friendly and helpful.My room had an amazing view of the bay of naples and it was spotless and cleaned every day.The breakfast had a good selection from cereals to crossaints. The location was perfect with a very short walk to the beach and restaurants, and the train station only 10min walk and Sorrento town a 15 min walk. As a woman on my own I never once felt unsafe walking around the area and would definitely go again. It was the end of the season when I was there so it was very quiet so next time I will go a week earlier as the boats stop going to Positano and Amalfi on the 25th of oct and I would have liked to go there.All in all I would highly recommend Villa Margherita,Stella,Maria and Margherita were wonderful!

This hotel was good choice for us as were planning to use Sorrento as the base for our visit to Pompeii. Staff were excellent. It was a short walk to train & a slightly longer one to town itself. Close to beach. However restaurant not open and at bar would only serve bottled beer.

Hotel is on busy road, so need to keep double glazed doors closed. Staff are very helpful and accommodating - appears to be family run. Family are smokers and the lobby and hallways are regularly affected by tobacco smoke.

This hotel is very basic. It is quite cheap so I guess you get what you pay for however: (1) Our bathroom had patched-up tiles around the toilet and the shower was a little mouldy. There was a little work needed. (2) The location as stated is not that convenient for Sorrento and is in fact a 20 to 30 minutes walk to Sorrento town centre. (3) The internet is charged at €5/hr which is quite expensive – we did not use it so I don't know what quality is like (4)The parking is €8 day and usesscratch-card type tickets which you have to keep putting in the car (bought in 1hr and 5 hr time slots – these can be bought in the hotel). (5) The room was quite noisy in the mornings with bin lorries etc going past – as we were in a room facing the road which is quite busy. On a plus side, the breakfast was good – pretty standard for Italian hotels.

Extremely helpful staff. Location to restaurants was super. Distance from Sorrento was really a 40 minute hike. Breakfast was in a lovely setting and graciously served. We got lucky and found a parking space on the street.

Lovely small hotel on outskirts of Sorrento. Near beach and local restaurants. The hotel restaurant was closed so this was important. Room and facilities good value for money.

The staff was helpful and kind. The room wasn't too large. Unfortunately, there wasn't a balcony room but the hotel's terrace offers beautiful views. The breakfasts were very unanimous.

Villa Margherita is a great place to stay! Very nice building, the personel was great and very polite and the location is amazing (very near the beach and a 10 minutes walk from Sorrento). Overall, the experience in Villa Margherita was great! I fully recommend it!

We loved our stay here. Very homey and personal. They took care of every need we had and even gave us more than we expected. Nice family run with great breakfast!

Very comfortable rooms , but , shower & bathromm was a tad snug. Extremely well run family hotel , if I was picky, more use of the terrace , particularly for breakfast & a nightcap The balconies for roooms 107 & 108 whilst over looking the road afforded a fine view of all that was going on Would I re visit, definitely Yes & would recommend this hotel

This hotel is situated on a busy corner and my room was noisy, despite the web site description. It is a good 500m from the station but is on a bus route (not very reliable) to the centre of Sorrento, or a 25min walk. Breakfast was fine. A few restaurants and bars in St Agnello itself, but most people will want to go to Sorrento centre. Hotel is used by tour groups.

- no access to internet as mentionned - quite noisy up to about 1:30 in the morning (scooters) - lucky to have parking in reserved area along public street - very nice area and view, however

I was very happy with this hotel. The staff were helpful and friendly well above and beyond the call of duty. A very pleasant situation and near to a number of good and reasonably priced restaurants. I used it as a base from which to explore Pompeii and Herculaneum and as it's quite close to the Circumvesuviana station, this worked pretty well. My room was spacious, quiet and clean with a balcony from which there was a nice view. No complaints!
