About Hotel Villa Garden
exterior
Villa Garden is a refined boutique hotel in the Peninsula of Sorrento, located on a rocky spur directly above the sea. The breathtaking panorama one enjoys from the Belvedere encompasses the entire Bay of Naples, with the majestic Vesuvius, the gentle hills, and the picturesque villages dotted along the coast immersed in the luscious green vegetation.
This 4-star hotel in Sorrento is a real corner of Paradise, where the ancient Romans built a splendid villa and where the great European painters of the 17th and 18th centuries came to seek inspiration for their magnificent paintings.
Today, this deluxe hotel in Sorrento is the ideal place for relaxing and romantic stays, and the perfect starting point for discovering Capri, Pompeii, the Amalfi Coast and other gems of this blessed land.
The villa has been completely restructured but in full respect of the original architecture. Its 19 rooms are finely furnished, many of these have balcony and sea view. The personal care of the owners, the courtesy of the staff, the intimate and elegant atmosphere, make of Villa Garden a unique Hotel de Charme.

a truly lovely spot with wonderful staff, my only small complaint was the lack of good coffee at breakfast ( i LOVE coffee) and not much in the way of healthy options for breakfast - mostly bacon & eggs and sweet danishes...

The hotel is some 15 to 20 mimutes walk from San Agnello train station. This is no problem as long as you are fit and used to walking which we are. It is well sign posted. If you require a taxi, it would be best to go to Sorrento station and leave the train there. The view from the breakfast room over the Bay of Naples is quite breath taking and an excellent buffet breakfast is served including both hot and cold options. One or two semi-derilict buildings near to the hotel slightly detract from its location.

The view from the hotel was fantastic! I will definitely go back again if I have the chance! The staff was friendly and helpful. Definitely enjoy my stay there. Would be excellent if they can provide a shower curtain to the bath room :)

We loved our stay at this beautiful little hotel. Sant'Agnello is a quiet, pretty alternative to staying in Sorrento. The staff was excellent & accommodating. Our room was spacious & had a balcony overlooking the Bay. We enjoyed watching the fishermen bringing in their nets while breakfasting in the mornings. Lovely courtyard, nice for early evening drinks. Highly recommended hotel.

We stayed at Villa Garden because of the comments I had read about it on Venere; it did not disappoint. We stayed in room 105, which is one of two rooms in the hotel that has a balcony, and our balcony was HUGE. If you stay here, you should request room 105. The balcony looks out over the Bay of Naples, across to Mt. Vesuvius, and you can also see Sorrento to the left. The hotel is about a 20-25 minute walk to the actual heart of Sorrento but is easily reached via bus that stops around the corner from the hotel. We arrived in Sorrento via ferry from Capri and took a cab from the marina to the hotel when we first got there. The cab cost around 15-20 Euro. If we had known about it, we would have taken the bus for 1.10 Euro instead. Besides the balcony in our room, we also really enjoyed the pool at Villa Garden. We visited in the end of August, so it was pretty hot out. After a day of touring and walking it was really nice to go back to the hotel and sit by the pool. We highly recommend Villa Garden, but it is not for someone who wants to be in the center of all the action. We appreciated that it was a little further away from the noise.

This hotel is in a superb location on the cliff top on quieter side of Sorrento, it is beautifully appointed in the classic Italian style, during our ten day stay we found the staff very friendly and helpful, and the whole building, pool and garden area spotlessly clean. The selection for breakfast was good and whilst there are no facilities for evening meal, there are several good restaurants in easy walking distance, the hotel does provide excellent light lunches and refreshments, and has a first rate bar. It is family run and it shows in the care they take with their guests. Thoroughly recommended.

This must be one of the best value for money hotels in Italy. We stayed for 4 nights and had room 105 overlooking the Bay of Naples at the front of the hotel. We had requested this room when making the reservation on Venere and were not disappointed. The hotel is in a quiet street at the edge of the cliff and you can get a view across the Bay to Naples in the evening or sit on the balcony and watch the sunset. The only problem is the size of the shower cubicle which does not allow you to turn around or bend over. This is the only complaint and a small one at that. The breakfast room overlooks the Bay and you can have eggs cooked to order. The hotel is beautifully furnished throughout and has a great pool area. THe staff are excellent and very friendly. There is a local bus which takes you into Sorrento in about 5 minutes and you can buy tickets at the hotel. We dined at a few restaurants recommended by the hotel and thought they were excellent and well priced. This is a fantastic hotel, I just wished we could have stayed a lot longer.

A real gem with wonderful sea views from the superior front bedroom and the breakfast room. Spotlessly clean with helpful and friendly staff.Superior rooms these days should have both shower and bath rather than having to choose one or the other. The air-conditioning would be inadequate in high summer. Having our window open, we also experienced some sleep disturbance from outside.

We went to this hotel for a special occasion and we were not disappointed! The room we had, 105 was absolutely superb with fantastic views. Breakfast was extremely good with a good choice of freshly prepared hot dishes, with friendly, efficient staff. We would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a top quality hotel at very reasonable prices for the area. A short 20 minute walk gets you into the heart of Sorrento and buses are frequent and cheap. Staff deserve special praise as they were extremely helpful and polite. We would love to stay in this hotel again should we visit that area.

Staff and service are outstanding, Great hotel, breakfast room brilliant outlook, food very good. Hotel you are happy to be in, if not out doing tourist activities. Nearby restaurants, OK. Best was Crawfords. Recommended restaurants in Sorrento not great value. Directions on Venere not clear, so we ended up in Sorrento. 20 Euro to get to the hotel. A good 20 min walk to Sorrento central. Very happy with hotel even though it was further out than we had expected.

We are in our early 50's and came to Villa Garden on our Honeymoon. Great quiet romantic location with sunset view and nice suites with bay view. Kind staff and nice breakfast with great view. Staff will arrange transportation to local restaurants. It was very easy to walk to town or bus line, train station close.

Thank you to everyone who provided such positive feedback on the Villa Garden for one of the best hotel experiences we have had in over 25 years of vacationing in Europe. This hotel deserves a perfect 10 rating. The exceptionally helpful and extremely knowledgable staff provided invaluable advice for exploring the area. The location overlooking the Bay of Naples is fantastic. Sant Agnello is a welcome escape from the crowds that can invade Sorrento. The nearby bus and train made it more than convenient for visiting Sorrento, Naples, Pompeii, and the Amalfi Coast. We looked forward to breakfast - cooked-to-order eggs - in the breakfast room with its panoramic view every morning. We cannot recommend this hotel more highly!

we really enjoyed staying at the Villa Garden Hotel. It would be perfect if closer to downtown Sorrento - it is a 25 minute walk which we often did rather than bus/taxi. The staff were helpful in providing a bus schedule, ferry schedules, as well as selling bus tickets, all of which provided great convenience. The breakfasts were good as well, and the service excellent.

The Villa Garden is a treat you will not want to miss if touring the Amalfi Coast area. The view was incredible, especially our room 105. The hotel is immaculate, beautiful, and offers all that a larger hotel would offer and more. The breakfast room is a gorgeous oceanview with a delicious breakfast to order. The help was friendly and very helpful with all our questions and requests. Gabriella was especially a delight! I would reccomend this hotel to all my friends.

The holiday and the hotel lived up to expectations. We felt at home but pampered, there was a great feel to the place and its location which was topped off by the stunning sea vista. The staff were exemplary and what few problems we had were resolved at once. That's the test! Our fellow guests were friendly but not overwhelming.

Thanks to Villa Garden for making our 20 year anniversary trip special. What a gem! We love the location. Residential-close to food and sights, but removed enough to feel relaxed. We could hear some street noise below (conversations), but it did not keep us up. Our only regret is not being able to get Room 105, which has the gorgeous terrace, but the view from our room (204) was awesome as well! Great pool-I recommend at least a lunch or wine poolside! Hotel was always very clean and had a welcoming staff. I had issues with the morning coffee (high calcium in the water?), so switched to tea, which was very good. Sorrento is a 20 minute walk, which we did daily there and back, as it's a great way to 1)work up your appetite and 2) walk off your dinner. Always felt safe during our walk, even late at night! We stayed here based on recommendations on Trip Advisor, and were NOT disappointed. Would definitely return if we came back to this region. We made arrangements with hotel for private car pick up in Naples, which I would highty recommend also-well worth the $ and you get to enjoy the view of the Bay of Naples as you are taken to the hotel. Unfortunately, I was not able to upload our beautiful pictures to the site.

Beautiful spot. 15 to 20 minute walk to town. Only 2 minute walk to bus which came frequently. They give you a bus schedule when you check in so you can plan your morning accordingly. The hotel was gorgeous. Felt like a Mediterranean Villa. We did have a tub with a handheld shower with no curtain or door but I have come across this in Paris hotels and worked with it. We had a nice terrace with Mediterranean views if you sat on the swing and looked left. Would highly recommend it. Only place that we stayed at where you could order eggs with your breakfast. I choose this place because it had such high ratings on Venere.com and was not disappointed.

This hotel was fabulous. It exceeded our expectations and we just loved being there. The property is lovely and in a beautiful setting. The room was spacious and cheerfully furnished. The locations was great-we just took the local bus everywhere and the hotel staff were gracious in providing a printout of the schedule for us. This was one of the most memmorable places that we stayed and can't wait to go back.

Fabulous!!! The only problem we had at the Villa Garden was that our stay was toooooo short! My husband, son, and I all agree that we would like to return to Italy and spend all our time at the Villa Garden. What a wonderful place to relax and an easy bus ride to the downtown area for excitment. Everything about the Villa Garden is lovely. I wish Italy were closer to the states so we could enjoy the Villa Garden and Sorrento more often.

This is an idyllic small hotel that offered friendly, efficient and unobtrusive service. It is beautifully appointed and nicely maintained. (once we found it). Our room on the eastern side elevation had a private terrace that had ‘Saharan’ tanning opportunities. As a base to explore the Sorrento environs it proved to be ideal, there being a useful bus service along the coast (beware Italian time keeping is prevalent!). We have no criticism of the hotel, but were a bit disappointed with Saint Agnelo. There are a limited number of places to dine and on 2 out of 3 occasions were obliged to consume what must be described as ‘tourist fare’. There was little point in making much of this since the majority of diners seemed quite content with it. Fortunately we did find one well concealed bodega (due north from the hotel) that proved to be a delight. It is family run and the (cheap) food was classically simple and tasty; a thoroughly pleasant experience. With the benefit of hindsight, to avoid the tourist traps, we would return for a short stay.

The Garden Villa is a lovely two story home, restored for hotel use. Our room overlooked Mt. Vesuvius across the Bay of Naples and was absolutely lovely. The hotel is not in the central Sorrento area, which is actually a plus because the hotel is so quiet and you had the feeling that you were is a residential area. The breakfast room is in a room that actually hangs on the edge of the cliff plunging to the water. Fabulous view! Good variety of breakfast offerings, including omelets made to order. This was definitely our favorite hotel during our trip.

I booked our stay at the Villa Garden on the strength of the excellent reviews it has received on Venere, and I have to say we were not disappointed. This hotel is in one of the prime locations in Sorrento, right on the cliff edge, with stunning views across the Bay of Naples to Vesuvius. The quality of the accomodation is very good, and it is very well maintained. We stayed initially for four nights, before travelling down the coast, but ended our stay in Italy with two further nights at the Villa Garden before we flew home. I wish we'd been able to stay longer. We were fortunate for the last two nights to be given the first floor room with the balcony at the front, and to be able to get up in the morning, throw open the window, and get *that* view was absolutely magical. The staff were extremely helpful and courteous, and you felt that nothing you asked for was too much trouble. The breakfast on offer is extensive and varied (unlike some hotels in Italy, they do offer a hot option of eggs and/or bacon, but don't expect an English-style cooked breakfast!). You can get a decent cup of tea, though! It's position in Sant' Agnello is about a 20 minute walk from the centre of Sorrento, but there is a good bus service into town just around the corner. If you don't fancy the wait for the bus back after a good night out, there are taxis available from the Piazza Tasso. As well as the many restaurants in Sorrento, there are several within walking distance in Sant' Agnello, and the hotel staff will be happy to recommend them to you. Visit the nearby 'Moonlight', though, only if you can afford to wait for half-an-hour without so much as a drink, waiting to be served!. If you're travelling by car, the hotel provide a pass which enables you to use the public on-road parking places outside the hotel for free, and there is usually space available close to the hotel. I would recommend the Villa Garden to anyone visiting Sorrento.

Very nice staff. We can defintively recommand this hotel. We extended our stay and upgraded to a junior suit e with view to Vesuvio and the Gulf of Naples which is worth the price supplement. Moving in Sorrento with car is quite difficult because of regular trafic jams and only a few parkings.

The property was difficult to find without perfect, explicit directions, so make sure you know EXACTLY how to get there before you try to find it. But once you're there, it's tucked away in a terrific location, overlooking the bay and very comfortable. The staff spoke and understood English very well and were all very helpful, even making phone calls when we were trying to locate a place to eat, since it was off-season. I highly recommend this property for a unique experience.

The Hotel Villa Garden was one of the highlights of our recent visit to Italy. The staff was friendly and accomodating and our room was beautiful, with a gorgeous view of the sea. As was mentioned in a previous review, the hotel is a bit of a walk from downtown Sorrento, but you can also get on the train and ride into Sorrento as well. The breakfast at Villa Garden was by far the best we had on our whole trip and it was prepared by the friendliest and most wonderful woman who was a pleasure to see every morning. I loved this hotel and would recommend it to all my friends and family.

Not happy with bus and cab services into Sorrento. Taxi's were outrageously priced. Bus service had changed which hotel should have been aware of...I waited an hour for the bus which never came. There also was no taxi service from the train station as I had been told by the hotel. The transportation into Sorrento is my only complaint...otherwise my room and the staff were great!!

The Villa Garden staff was fantastic — very kind, pleasant and most helpful. The view—spectacular, and just slightly away from the center of town to make it quiet enough for a good nights sleep.
