Room very compact, even by European standards. The balcony was the size of a postage stamp. If all you need your room for is for sleeping then it is a good choice, as the location is excellent. Breakfast was disappointing.

The location of this hotel is great. The rooms are very small. We had nowhere to put out suitcases. I had to put my suitcase under the desk and my friend put hers on the night side table next to her bed. It was way too cramped in there. Other then the size of the room, the hotel was very nice. Breakfast was typical Italian. There was a tiny balcony off our room where we sat most of the time because there was nowhere to sit in the room. I liked the staff, the hotel in general, and the location but if you stay there beware of the room size. If you have a lot of stuff, this might not be the place for you.

We enjoyed our stay, loving the location but felt the room was bit overpriced, we returned after visiting Capri and stayed in a similar hotel for about 1/2 the price. Room very clean but very small, lovely balcony overlooking the main street.

We loved the Hotel Sorrento City. Stayed a week-staff was very helpful, good breakfast and an unbeatable location. Location as far as proximity to train station, port, downtown restaurants and stores can not be beat. Would state that some noise sensitive folks might want to avoid location on the front, but we enjoyed the street scene from our balcony. And thank you Dorita for all of your consideration

It's a little hotel in the center of Sorrento. Excellent logistic position and wonderful employees. Roberta manually prepared very good cakes for the breakfast. Just a negative point, no eggs for breakfast but we don't like eggs.

Perfect location close to the main bus/train station as well as the main shopping district in Sorrento. Compact room for 4 with a double bed and bunks but totally adequate. The room rate was the highest we paid in Italy and the room was the smallest, but it was worth it for the location.

The rooms are small, but its central location, the helpful staff and the price make it good value for money. My only issue would be the rather poor breakfast, but overall I was very pleased with our stay.

Great place except for the small rooms. We had a quad and couldn't move - and not exactly cheap. Great otherwise, particularly friendly and helpful staff.

We were a mixed age group of myself and 3 grown up daughters. The staff were really helpful and friendly the hotel is small but so close to square and buses etc.Really good value for money especially as a base for sightseeing.Rooms at front of Hotel could be noisy at night , but we were warned of this before we went . we had a brilliant time and would be happy to return .

Will probably stay again. Paid for a quad for 3 nights and had 3 people the first night 5 the second and 3 the third. They charged me a extra $10 a night because one night we had 5 people. not good. the guy that works at night is kind of mean and doesnt want you to bother him. Was meeting family that lived in Italy.

Great location. Very clean. Good breakfast. Room size, bathrooms, and showers small (but typical for Europe). Only noise was folks pulling their luggage checking in and out. Staff very friendly and helpful. Would stay there again.

A very nice, tidy place, very friendly staff, good service, great choice for breakfast offered. Situated in the city centre, close to the railway station, nevertheless quiet room.

The hotel is very closed to the train station. We just take few minutes to reach to the hotel after arrival. The hotel itself is modern and clean. But it is a bit noisy at night time as a road just next to your room.

We were in Sorrento for a wedding, and the airline lost my luggage but the hotel staff could not do enough to try to help. I was surprised and impressed that when ever any of the party I was with entered the hotle the reception staff knew who they were and what room they were in without having to be told. Very impressive, can only recommend and have done so already.

Excellent hotel, new & modern. Man at reception could not have been more friendly, helpful & knowledgeable about all services in the area. Our room for three was modern, compactly designed & very clean, as were the shower & toilet. Breakfast in the bright room off the reception area was magnificent, buffet style, with a really wide choice of delectables, & the wide-screen television was a welcome & enjoyably surprising treat as we ate. Close to station & restaurants in this beautiful city. Would absolutely recommend this hotel to all, & would certainly stay there again on a return visit.

While Venere was very difficult for us to work with, Hotel City Sorrento in Sorrento, Italy was FANTASTIC. The staff were extremely helpful and accomodating to us and our children. The hotel was clean, bright and comfortable and we felt very safe and relaxed. We stayed in one room with a double for my husband and I and a twin for my teenage son. Our daughter and her friend stayed in a double with a lovely veranda overlooking the main via...they loved it! The kids visited some clubs in the evening and the desk person looked out for them to be sure they returned safely each night! The location is PERFECT for anyone wishing to enjoy Sorrento. The staff is the best we have ever encountered anywhere! We would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Sorrento!

For exploring Sorrento and the Amalfi Coast Hotel Sorrento City is perfect. You are two mins walk from train and bus station but inside the hotel you cannot hear a thing. The English speaking staff cannot do enough for you and you feel like you are the only people there. I would recommend this hotel for couples, singles and groups. We will be returning to this hotel in the future.

Have recently returned from Sorrento and can highly recommend the hotel which was very central for trains, buses and boats to surrounding areas. Staff could not be more helpful and went out of their way to be of assistance re timetables etc. The central location of the hotel was ideal and within short distance of many restaurants, shops etc. Would certainly have no hesitation in visiting hotel again.

My boyfriend and I stayed in Sorrento for 2 nights in December. This was a very clean, centally located hotel. It was small and basic like most hotels in Italy, but for the price it was just what we wanted. We had a nice little balcony over the main street. There was a laundry nearby and a great pizza restaurant down the street. I have read other reviews which mentioned the steet noise. This was not a problem when we went. Also the staff spoke English.

We stayed at Hotel Sorrento City for 4 nights during September. The hotel is in an ideal location. Walking distance from the train station and on the main road of Sorrento. Our room was at the front of the hotel with a balcony looking out onto the street. The balcony was great however, at night, when we were trying to sleep the noise of the street was rather annoying. Next time I would ask for a room at the rear of the hotel. The rooms are clean and modern but very small. Sorrento is a great base as we did day trips to Capri, Positano, Amalfi and Pompeii. We would certainly return to Hotel Sorrento City as the location and cleanliness were superb!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Sorrento City. The personnel was most helpful and provided us with useful info whenever asked. The room was large and well cared for. I will recommend this neat little hotel to all my friends travelling to the Amalfi Coast.

The room was TINY but the hotel is located right on the main street in Sorrento. That was good for location, but bad because we stayed there on a Saturday night in April and the street was filled with people until late into the night. Because the air conditioning wasn't on yet, we had to have the balcony door open to stay cool which meant the room wasn't quiet at all. The room was clean.

We stayed for 3 days, deciding to leave because of the noise factor. Scuters whizzing up and down all night long.Just a busy part of town. Wmoved to the old fishing part of town for the remainder of the stay. Much quieter.
