Hotel Residence Miramare - Sorrento

This quiet hotel provides good quality accomodation close to Sorrento. The setting is beautiful. However, access to Sorrento is extremly dangerous. Each time we crossed the road, we took our lives in our hands. It is only possible walk in single file most of the way into town. Not for the faint hearted!!

A wonderful hotel and perfect location! Staff was extremely accommodating. Views were amazing. Room was quiet, roomy, and very clean. My only complaint was that the hairdryer was quite ineffective. Bring your own.

The view from our room faced the bay and Mount Vesuvius, absolutely beautiful. The bathroom was spacious and had that beautiful view as well. We had the two room suite with efficiency kitchen. The only thing I would advise with renting this room is that the 2 fold out twin beds in the living area are flimsy and not comfortable for anyone beyond the age of ten. To make it more comfortable and suitable for adults I would suggest that the hotel switch out the twin foldouts for a sleeper sofa with an end table and small lamp. This second room was oddly furnished and spare compared with the pretty bedroom and bathroom. We were traveling with our 22 year old and I had been under the impression there would be at the very least a couch and twin bed in that second room. It was a disappointment.

The property exceeded our expectations. Tremendous setting with great views especially from many exterior public areas (terraces, poolside, etc.). View from room itself was not as spectacular. Decor was better than expected from website photos, and the availability of non-smoking room a BIG plus. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Good breakfast offered - especially the big cup, hot coffee and cappucino. Parking area was a bit challenging to hit the first time - came up very suddenly. Later at night, the gate to lot is closed (with remote operation by the desk), but we were not made aware of this and again, got stuck sitting out on very busy highway while one in our party was dispatched to the desk. Entry from lot requires carrying luggage down a half flight of stairs, but from lobby, lift is accessable to take up to the rooms.

Very friendly and helpful reception desk. Generally clean room and very big, with views of Vesuvius. Bathroom had not been cleaned (bin still had sanitary towels in it). Overall good though.

Great hotel,fab staff did not eat at hotel fab room and location great shame its on a road on a bad corner and no footpath once you step off the hotel steps

Hotel Miramare was situated in a good location with a good walk into town centre. We went with our two daughters aged 10 and 12 and they never once complained, the view fantastic. Entrance and crossing the road tricky, but with caution fine. The breakfast is very basic, but was more than enough for us. The view from our room made up for everything. If tired one evening try walking in the opposite direction from Sorrento and there is a lovely restaurant not far, but no pavements.

I loved my stay at Miramare. The spacious room included a kitchenette which was very convenient for keeping drinks cold etc. Staff was friendly and professional. The location was actually closer to the center of Sorrento than I had anticipated by looking at the map, and you couldn't beat the views from this hilltop albergo. The only challenge was crossing the street in front of the hotel since it is on a curve with poor visibility, and there is a dangerous flow of cars, buses and motorbikes. The facility does not have a restaurant, but breakfast was adequate. I will definitely go back to Miramare my next visit to Sorrento.

We had a really nice room, with an amazing sea view. You can walk to town, yes the street is busy, but it's OK. Employees are nice and helpful. The only not so nice side is that the walls are really thin. So it all depend on your neigbors.

The room was excellent with a sea view, but the noise from the traffic outside which started at 07.00am was continuous till late into the night. My husband was taken ill and the receiption were more than helpfull and contacted a Doctor to call to the hotel room. Overall the location was ideal and the staff and stay in the hotal were excellent.

Very Very Disappointing. The Hotel simply couldn`t keep up a 4 stars standard. the room ( a sea view suite) was quite small and badly furnished. In the main room the air conditioner was old and didn`t work properly.The tv was old, very small as well. The veranda was furnished with a very cheap plastic table and chairs set. Definitely not what you expect for 200 euros per night. The swimming pool was small but nicely situated on a terrace, but unfortunately no staff was ever present at any time of the day.The breakfast was really really poor. A basket of croissants, a basket with some bread , some small plastic single portion packages of jam and nutella, some jars of yogurth in a bowl with ice, two plastic bottles of smoothies straight from the supermarket and plastic cups.All laid on two small tables pulled against each other. The position of the hotel is probably the most off putting ever.It is situated a couple of miles from the town (nice view tho) in a very busy road and there are no paths near the entrance, which means that once you are out of the hotel you will have to cross a blind corner in the middle of a road busy with cars and motorbikes, to reach the closest path. The hotel does not provide any shuttle service and so you will have to get a bus (one every 20 minutes and the stop, again ,and not situated on a path, but on the road, 3 minutes walking from the hotel, or take a very expensive cab (just when we checked out they told us they use a private cab company that charges you ONLY 12 euro to get you to the town).The service could be much better. The veranda was not clean yet when we checked in, and to use the small sink and hob in the kitchen you are told that you "can buy a washing up set at the reception or pay a 10 euro extra to get it done". This is definitely not a 4 stars hotel, not even 3.
