The hotel and the 5 rooms are amazing. The junior suite is extremely large and the bath has all the amenities. The hotel is one street from the sea with an elevator down to the water for a small price if you choose not to walk. The breakfast area is either in or out and the outside is like a garden you would stay all day in. The rooms contain beautiful furniture and the queen bed is really a King by US standards. The only drawback is that you have to handle your own luggage up a small flight of stairs to the elevator. The hotel is not easy to find by car so you have to be careful because it is on the corner of a blind curve and the street is very narrow. I would spend a week just in this hotel if we go back to Sorrento

We had a triple room. We checked in after arriving and used the bathroom facilities. The toilet did not generate enough water pressure to adequately flush. After getting settled we went around to let the proprietress know about the problem. When we got back there was a note explaining that it cost 20EUR to call the plumber, that there was no problem, that the tank did not fill up fast enough, as can be expected in an older building and that if we complained about this again the plumbing charge would be billed to our room. I am afraid that this colored our experience. The so called triple was a double with a cot. We are all over 5'9", and my feet hung over the edge. The bathroom could use some fresh caulcing and some scrubbing of the seams and joints which were moldy. After that we didn't bother to contact the proprietress again for anything, and she didn't bother to make an appearance in two days either. All in all I'm sure that there are nicer, more welocoming places, for the price, to stay in Sorrento, which is wonderful. We certainly would not stay at the Palazzo Marziale again.

this was the first time we stayed at town house suite palazzo maziale and our stay was fantastic. we felt like we had the place to ourselves and the location was perfect for access to town, the marina and all transportation. If you like a romantic spot that is quite different from a hotel, this is the place for you.

This place is good for the price. The positives are the excellent location and that there are so few units. On the down side, the staff is only there in the morning doing the breakfast and cleaning, so if you need anything you have to catch them then, or call someone who's off-site. For this reason I wouldn't recommend it for a single traveller. Also because it's a dated building, you have to carry luggage up two small flights of stairs before reaching the lift. The rooms are spacious and the in-room amenities are good, including the air conditioning.

Great location close to all forms of transport, restaurants, shopping streets, with views of the sea from the front of the property.Comfortable, clean, spacious rooms - few problems with TV and fridge but neither item a priority for us!Bright, welcoming breakfast room with generous amounts of varied food. No-one around much in the day if needed (contact phone numbers given not answered). Was a bit noisy at times due to decorating/renovation of rooms , presumably before the busy season - may have ruined our stay if we were in trying to rest/relax. Friendly helpful staff despite us all communicating in mime because couldn`t speak eachother`s language!

The Marziale is a great place, very well renovated to high standards while maintaining 18th century style. Breakfast was great. Location fantastic (quiet 2 streets off Corso Italia, and with sea view next to the local church). We booked the red room (the smallest), but because we were the only guests that weekend, they gave us the large Yellow room. Certainly recomended.

This was our second time in Sorrento and we had a fantastic stay at the Palazaao Marziale. Excellent service. Friendly staff. Good price. Very central location within sight of the Cloisters (very useful as we were there for family wedding) and the sea. I would highly recommend staying here!

I was traveling to Sorrento with my boyfriend for a Christmas holiday. We loved the hotel, the location was perfect, the room was beautiful (we had the green room) which was very spacious compared to most European hotels, even had our own little balcony the staff was gracious, efficient and attentive. The owner Paola was very friendly and helpful. A delicious breakfast was delivered to our room every morning at the time we requested. All of the qualities of a four/five star hotel for a fraction of the price. I would definately stay there again when visiting Sorrento!

What a fabulous place, steeped in history with the 15th centuary foyer and 17th centuary extentions. The rooms are very comfortable. We stayed in the Green Room, it had a fabulous outlook toward the park and bay (though the bay was obscured by trees). The staff were fantastic and the only negative things of note were some dust on the floors and tarnished fittings in the marble bathroom. We loved it!

We loved our stay here; location was perfect, the room was gorgeous and so spacious, and the building is really lovely as well. Could not recommend more highly.
