the hotel was exellent as where the staff at the main desk. location was great, rooms good , and the hotel would have received a10/10 except the breakfast staff , it seemed a bother for the 2 ladies to just maintain what was on show .no lemons for a cuppa tea (and what is sorento famous for) no butter on our last day, had to ask for hot water for coffee or tea ,not luke warm water.etc.etc. And just that took the gloss off a perfect stay.

The Mignon Meuble was in a great location, walking distance to train, boats, and central piazza. The staff were great with directions for getting around. The rooms were adequate, if facing the back street, could be a bit noisy.

Noisy since it is a very busy side street with lots of motor scooter traffic. It is also next to a school so if your room balcony faces that side the kids have a view into your room.

We wanted to be close to railway station. This property was not too far to roll our cases. The room we had was on other side to the school and was quiet. There is a lovely restaurant in Ibsen Park almost next door.

The staff at Hotel Mignon was the best! After traveling a full day to get to Sorrento from Cinque Terre, we decided to avoid another day of travel and stay in Sorrento for 2 extra days. Hotel Mignon was booked, but Enza found us another great place to stay, made our reservations and helped us cancel previous reservations (which required phone calls to Venice and England). She was extraordinarily patient and helpful that night, and she and Paolo were both helpful with directions and recommendations throughout our stay. The room was large and clean. Location was terrific for walking in town, getting to train and to boats. We loved Sorrento - it's a charming town, good base for day trips to Capri, Pompei and Amalfi Coast. We would definitely stay there again.

We stayed for 2 nights at Mignon Meuble and it could not have suited our needs better. The room was spacious, bright and spotless in a great location 10 minutes walk from the train station. We had a balcony facing a courtyard with trees so the room was fairly quiet. The front desk person greeted us with a warm smile and helped my wife carry her heavy suitcase up the stairs to our room. (There is no lift so this hotel may not be the best choice for those who cannot negotiate stairs.) She gave us a map and some very good restaurant recommendations. Breakfast was quite adequate by Italy standards. Free internet is available. The overall value was good and we would definitely stay there again should we return to Sorrento.

Hotel Mignon Meublè is located a block off the main street of Corso Italia, 5-min walk from the bustling Piazza Tasso, and 10-min walk from the CV train station. The room and bathroom were spacious. The complimentary breakfast was simple but delicious. Overall, it was a great deal for the price.

The hotel is a bit hard to find. We finally found it by the photo we had printed before. It's tourist off-season when we were there, so the hotel was very quiet. It's not far from the main street of Sorrento. The staffs were warm-hearted. The breakfast is wonderful.

Nice new hotel. Biggest advantage is location- off the busy street but only 1 block from tourist shopping heart of town, 4 blocks to train station. School noise did not bother us with windows closed. Only disadvantage is no lift- all rooms up one or two flights of stairs.

Very handy location for old town Sorrento. Not a luxury property, but an excellent price for this town, and a very pleasant place to stay. All employees were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was quite acceptable. Free internet access was a nice plus. Location, location, location, and great value. If we would return to Sorrento, We would surely consider this hotel again.

This was our third visit to Sorrento. We stayed at the Mignon Meublè for 5 nights and we couldn't have chosen a better hotel. The room was very spacious and clean. The hotel is localted in the historical section of the city just a short walk from the train station. Our room opened to a terrace where were enjoyed cafe latte in the beautiful sunshine. The hotel had computers in the public area for guests to use free of charge. It was great to be able to keep in touch with family back home. We would definately stay in Mignon Meublè again.

What a lovely place! We enjoyed our visit very much, despite rainy cold weather during our stay. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the breakfast with the wonderful coffee was something to look forward to each morning! Too bad we couldn't enjoy the lovely patios due to the weather. The location was excellent, and our room was comfortable with a fine private bathroom. We were glad for the internet availability on the computers, too. This room was a great value - I would be happy to stay here again, if I am ever so lucky to return to Sorrento!

An out-of-season stay, at a very good price for two double rooms. Mine opened onto a patio (used for breakfasts) which was nice. External wooden shutters ensured privacy. The hotel is tiled throughout in blue and white, which gives a cool appearance. It is extremely clean and the rooms are well-equipped: TV, en-suite, towels (linen type), extra blankets and so on. The central heating was very good.....it was very chilly weather when I visited. I imagine the air conditioning will be equally efficient. Breakfast was fine: acceptable coffee, juice, fresh sliced oranges, cereal, toast, fresh rolls, biscuits, preserves and so on. Refills of coffee and more rolls were provided with no problem. No meat, cheese or other fruits/veg. The breakfast area is quite small (in 'normal' weather it extends onto two patios as well) so might get full if the hotel was busy. Staff were pleasant and capable. We left our bags after check-in with no problems (although space for this seemed rather limited). The hotel is extremely convenient, about 10 minutes walk from the Circumvesuviana station and centrally placed just off the main 'drag'. There is no through traffic, so no real traffic-noise. The hotel faces a type of school/college, so there is some noise at the beginning and end of the school/college day for rooms at the front (which have balconies). Via A.Sersale is an alley rather than a road, and easy to miss. If walking along the Corso Italia it is the first turn on the left at the end of the cathedral's white wall. If travelling by car, you will have to access it from the Via Degli Aranci. A very good base for an out-of-season visit to Sorrento. Recommended.

Great little hotel right in the middle of Sorrento. Rooms at the front were a little noisy, with a school right opposite, obviously teaching kids to babble loudly and incessantly! Hotel entrance not so impressive but once inside you will realise you have found a gem. Good breakfast of cereal, fruit and fab bread. Free internet on 2nd floor. Try get one of the quiet rooms at the back on the 2nd floor. Highly recommended.

We booked this property at the last minute when our original reservation for another hotel in Sorrento was cancelled. It was just as described - neat, clean, and functional. The large L-shaped balcony attached to our quad room would be very nice in the spring, summer, or fall (we spent a little bit of time on it even in December) and it was nicely decorated with potted flowers, though the view was of a back alley-like area. The hotel was in a great location, in the historical center of Sorrento and within easy walking distance to the train station (although carrying any kind of baggage makes traversing the crowded streets and sidewalks a challenge - but then, that is the case in much of Italy, so what are you gonna do?) The walk to the hotel is up an incline, though not difficult for most people. However, if you are an older person, someone with large, heavy bags, or with a disability that hinders your ability to walk, you might want to book elsewhere. There are also a couple of flights of steps you must trek up to get to the main floor of the hotel (again, difficult if you have mobility issues). The breakfast was typical - meats, cheeses, pastries, fruits, yogurt, etc. The coffee was made to order and the cappuccinos, excellent. The woman serving was friendly and efficient. Since it was winter, we did not get to eat on the communal patio, though I did look out at it, and it appeared pleasant. All of the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful. Additionally, I would like to thank them for their honesty. One morning, we left for the day and forgot to lock our room safe. We had several hundred Euros, some US dollars, as well as our passports and copies of our credit card information in there. When we returned, the room had been cleaned, and all of our valuables left untouched. I cannot state strongly enough how thankful we were at the end of the day (we were out of the city when we realized it and too far to return to lock the safe) to co

If you fly into Naples, take the nice and clean Correri bus just outside door of airport to Sorrento. It drops off a few blocks from this hotel. Easier than taking a bus to the uncomfortable train. The hotel and staff were kind and helpful with restaurant suggestions, ferry & all info. It is situated off the street down a pedestrian brick "alleyway", quaint and close to all shops. Across the main street the next 2 streets over are pedestrian only shopping streets with shops of leather, lemoncello factories, souveniers and many others. Just a few blocks down and then a walk or bus ride down to the sea is the ferry dock for a 20 min. ferry ride to Capri. If rough seas, be sure to check often with ferry dock in Capri because ferries can just stop and you could get stuck there like us. Our only option was 1 ferry coming back to Napoli and we had to make our way back to Sorrento by bus, then train. Lots of good restaurants near this hotel. Great location.

This hotel is the best I’ve stayed at in years. The décor is delightful – old black and white photos line the blue walls throughout the halls and the rooms are tastefully decorated. The staff (especially Enza) is wonderful. My daughter and I were shown to our room (he carried our bags) and given the type of welcome I haven’t received in years. There are two computers to use, and a roof-top deck on which to lounge. The breakfast is great: coffee, hot chocolate, cereal, juice, rolls and a toaster to use. The location is excellent – just a couple of minute walk to the main square. I would highly recommend this hotel for everyone.

Great hotel, really enjoyed it. I found staff to be friendly and helpful at all times. Rooms were spacious and clean. Breakfast was adequate and the common areas of the hotel were very welcoming. Noise is a factor but I had no issues myself and slept extremely well. All in all I would happily stay at the Mignon at any time. Thanks to the family for an enjoyable two nights.

Hotel Mignon is fabulously charming; the pictures don't do it justice. It's very Mediterranean looking (Greece) with spotless white and bright blue deco throughout. The two patio areas on the 2nd floor were perfect for relaxing while drinking wine, which the hotel has in stock. The local house wine was fantastic and only 10 euro for a bottle. The room was HUGE by European standards; our room has a double bed w/ 2 night stands, a writing table and large armoire. It also has a quaint little balcony with a patio table and 2 chairs, where we could enjoy our breakfast. The bathroom was very clean and large as well w/ a very nice and large stand up shower. The staff was extremely helpful in providing directions and recommendations for things to do and places to eat. They were all always smiling and eager to assist with ANY request. The location of the hotel could not have been better; it’s on a narrow-not so traveled street just off the main road. Within walking distance to middle of the town, with tons of shops and restaurant and about 2 blocks away from the historic area which is quieter and much more charming. If you are driving, parking will be an issue. My husband and I took the train from Rome into Sorrento and we walked to the hotel, it was about 10 blocks from the train station. We took Trenitalia from Rome to the Napoli Centrale station (opt for first class seats – bathrooms are clean, seats recline and you get free beverages) then took the Circumvesuviana train (which you catch at that same station) from Naples to Sorrento. Circumvesuviana trains are in pretty rough shape, but it’s only an hour ride. This is the same train that you take to visit Pompeii (get off at the Pompeii Scavi stop). The only downside to the hotel was the breakfast. Which I hate myself for even complaining about it, but having come from Rome where cappuccinos was made to order, fresh croissants were provided, a good variety of cheese and meats, yogurt, granola, ect. There was a ver

Of the five hotels we stayed in on this trip to Italy, this hotel was the best. It is a very bright, cheerful environment with a nice breakfast room and roof top solarium. The breakfast was great! It included fresh fruit, cereals, a variety of breads and coffees, teas, juice, etc. The location was perfect. Just off the main street but still fairly quiet. The staff was very helpful. Sorrento is beautiful (definitely take time to visit Pompeii, Positano and Amalfi. We didn't have time to go to Capri, but we heard that was beautiful, too. We would definitely come back to this hotel if we are ever in Sorrento. I've already recommeded it to a relative. Very reasonable price, especially for the quality of the room and service, etc.

We were 5 people (2 parents/3 grown kids), 2 rooms. \ Hotel Mignon Meuble is an excellent choice if you wish to stay in the heart of Sorrento. Once you step out the door your are literally 30m to Corso Italia the main street. It is a short walk to/from the Train/Bus Station which offers trips to Pompeii, Positano and Amalfi. The Hotel is very clean with spacious rooms. Ensuite bathrooms were fine, however the showers are a bit tight. The Staff were polite and very helpful. The 2 computers with internet access which are available to guests were a big hit with our kids. There is no elevator. Breakfast which consisted of corn flakes, bread, meat, cheese, juice and coffee is served indoors or can be taken out on the patio. We enjoyed the rooftop access which provides lounge chairs, tables and chairs, a nice view - enjoy it at night. We would defintely come back to this hotel.

This was our first time staying at this property. My wife, youngest son (17) and I visited Sorrento on a leisure vacation selecting this hotel because of its location allowing us to visit the town more freely and not having to pay cab fare back and forth from the hill resorts. A small, wonderful hotel just about a ten minute walk from the train station. The hotel is very clean; quiet, in a nice location just a few steps from the center of town, restaurants and shopping. The staff is friendly, courteous and accommodating. We had a triple room, so the extra bed took up some space, but the room size is adequate, comfortable and very clean. There is a sun room. Breakfast is just right and served either in doors our on the lanai. There are two computers with free internet access provided by the hotel. This hotel is a good value for the money. On my next visit to Sorrento, this is where I will stay.

Vacation in Sorrento for 9 nights. The hotel was perfect. Great location, close to everything. Very helpfull staff. Gave us great tips for places to see and be. Very good price and nice standards on the rooms and public areas. public internet was handy. Breakfast was ok, with fruit and cereal as an addition to the standard bread and jam breakfast. Only drawback we could see was the noisy backyard at the nearby school were a lot of events for children was arranged. Thankfully it went quiet before eleven.

Convenience of location for exploring Sorrento was excellent. The hotel was charming with its blue and white decor. Front desk employees were ready with information when asked about sightseeing options within the area and public transportation information. Only the staircases to the rooms were a surprise when we arrived with luggage and there was no elevator. Free internet access was wonderful.

Excellent location, clean and friendly. Parking at no charge right outside of the hotel, although there are only two spaces. We were lucky enough to get one of them and saved the 20 euros+ we would have spent to park elsewhere. Our friends had a room with their own patio which was real nice. The only downside was it was a bit noisy in our room but not unbearable. Location central to the main town. Short flight of steps w/o elevator. This is the second time we visited Sorrento.

We stayed 6 nights at Hotel Mignon in May 2008 and really enjoyed our time there. We had a corner room and so had the luxury of two balconies! We'd have no hesitation in recommending this hotel to any traveller.

Excellent Location 1/2 block from main street which avoids most trafic noice. Fresh local fruit at breakfast (but only cornflakes - no oatmeal or other grains, juice from cartons, ok bread, and no espresso - just drip coffee and hot milk). Full roof Solarium on top of building with great view of lemon/orange trees and town. Very new paint and lots of nice tile floors (which are quite noisy) and very clean. No elevator. Hard shoes, voices, keys, and TV in halls echo through room doors. School across street quite noisy even in evening during exercise classes. Best request room away from street if you want quiet. Free internet but silly issues (2nd terminal dead whole time, keyboard very dark and key labels worn and rearranged, screen difficult to see due to forced side angle viewing easily fixed with different keyboard and monitor. Staff ignored feedback. Very helpful Staff with directions and schedules No checkout staff before 8x. Notes: Napoli airport bus every 2 hours 7 euros (buy on bus) from nearby circumvasuvia (1.2 hrs to naples) train station. Get schedules at Foreigner Club at top of street going down to ferries across from ceramic shop. Nice trip: catch early bus at train station (3 euros?) to Positano. Sit on right side for view and thrills <g>. Catch fast ferry Positano to Capri midday, walk up many steps off street near left end of marina (30 minutes) to Capri Town and have coffee on balcony above square (Secret toilet there to!) See amazing views and Agusto gardens down path on right from square. Expect tons of people. Walk back down past luggage storage and catch afternoon ferry back to Sorrento. Capri has excellent and challenging trails all over island which are great exercise and views of private mansions. Evening is shopping time in Sorrento and good inexpensive pizza at Old Sorrento Restaurant/Inn with shopping alley views one block off main street (no cars at night). Family run. Lots of ceramic and original inlaid wood work.

This such a lovely hotel with really great service! The rooms are lovely and very clean and the hotel is so well situated in Sorrento. A very nice atmosphere. Our only complaints were that the beds were on spring bases (not slatted metal beds) and that the noise was a bit loud because of the fact that the entire hotel makes massive use of tile flooring which allows the noise to echo and travel quite far - a couple of area rugs would help with this! One grumpy lady decided to keep knocking on our wall even though it was not us who was making noise, despite the thin walls. Lovely friendly staff and a good breakfast with lots of fruit. I would stay here again if I could be .

I was really pleased with this hotel. The room was a good size with a very nice ensuite. It also had a small balcony - with a lovely view looking over the orange trees. We enjoyed a very relaxed and comfortable 5-night stay. Parents' room was spacious with a great shower and good views. Kids' first room had a faulty heater/air conditioning unit and a noisy WC but they were moved into a much better room the next day (Monday). Clean towels each morning was a nice touch. Fair choice of satellite channels but TVs could be larger. Internet access in the upstairs lobby was very useful indeed. Breakfast was a slightly strange affair: small toaster could only handle 2 pieces at a time for up to 12 people, but the fresh orange and pineapple were good. Overall the hotel was a great place to come back to after long days in Pompeii and Herculaneum. For food, I would recommend visitors venture down deep into the narrow streets of Sorrento, but the cocktail bar almost opposite on the main street is excellent.

About the only establishment open during the off-season in Sorrento! Great central location. Absolute bargain (off season, 60 euro/night double room). Rooms were spacious and clean. Unfortunately moved to ground floor during our stay due to renovations; this floor was very noisy (due to ambient noise outside the hotel, and the elderly lady watching TV in the communal room!). Free internet access was great. Breakfast consisted of two rolls, some toast and Cornflakes - not great. Fortunately the staff recommended an awesome pizzeria - Franco's, on the main street, just the otherside of the station.

We stayed in Sorrento for four nights in early Feburary 2008. The room we stayed in had been recently renovated and was very pleasant. The hotel can be a little difficult to find as it is up a lane way off Corso Italia and not marked well (if at all) on many maps. It is directly opposite Via Tasso.

Excellent location, very clean. Close to the old city and easy walk to train and bus station. Staff were very helpful, but only one had good good English. He was however, often there, and had very good English and knowledge of the area. A little noisy when school let in and out, but night time was fine. Plenty of hot water. The Mignon hotel is great. Although one thing i found that let it down was the soundproofing, or lack of, between rooms. After spending time in Rome and Naples the peacefulness and beauty of Sorrento was a huge relief but at the same time, it`s by no means a sleepy wee town. There are plenty of cafe`s and restaurants to choose from. Just follow your nose or watch where the locals eat for the best food and prices! Apart from some nice shops we could`nt find much else to do in Sorrento but of course it`s a great base to travel from if you want to see the islands. Capri is stunning although quite expensive and the island of Ischia, which is nearby and a good bit bigger than Capri is meant to be very nice and has hot volcanic springs all over the place. One last word; Rome is fantastic, but don`t get a hotel anywhere near termini train station. Not a good area. Naples is crazy. A good chunk of it is very poor and run down and to get to the `good` parts you will probably get a taxi there. All drivers in Naples are lunatics. It`s madness. Couldnt get out of there quick enough, (and we live in the east end of Glasgow!)

This is the first questionaire I've filled out on a hotel, but felt compelled due to the EXCELLENT service and accommodations at Hotel Mignon. The hotel was spotless, and room very nicely furnished. The breakfast was very substantial and with a good variety. Above all, though, the staff was EXCELLENT. They were very friendly and VERY helpful in determining toursim activities and even rental car. If I return to Sorrento, I will definitely make my booking with Hotel Mignon.
